Subnautica 2: Heat Tolerance explained

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/subnautica-2-dying-to-heat.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) If you've done much exploring to the east of your starting area in Subnautica 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/subnautica-2), you'll likely have come across a region of the ocean where the temperature starts to increase. This "hot biome" is home to a great many thermal vents which spew out boiling hot water, and if you try to push into the area, you'll find that your flimsy terrestrial body simply cannot handle the heat. Fortunately, there's a way to adapt to the incredible heat in this region. In the guide below, I'll walk you through exactly how to explore the hot biome in Subnautica 2, by unlocking the Heat Tolerance Adaptation via the Bloom infestations near spawn. Moss: The Forgotten Relic Combines Two Of VR's Best Games Into One Unified Flatscreen Adventure This Summer🎮 PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, VR, Multi-platform

Moss: The Forgotten Relic Combines Two Of VR's Best Games Into One Unified Flatscreen Adventure This Summer

!Moss The Forgotten Relic PS5 Xbox Series X/S Switch 2 PC Summer 2026 Reveal Trailer(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/14/862646ff/moss2.jpg.webp) Some of the best games you can play in a VR headset are developer/publisher Polyarc's Moss(https://gameinformer.com/product/moss) and Moss: Book II(https://gameinformer.com/product/moss-book-ii). The former launched in 2018 exclusively on PlayStation VR, and the latter launched on PlayStation VR and Meta Quest in 2022. Though both are playable on other VR headsets now, they still require, well, a VR headset. But players without a headset, or those who prefer their gaming escapades to be flatscreen, will get to enjoy both adventures in Moss: The Forgotten Relic, which combines both Moss games into a single "unified" experience for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Summer. Polyarc announced The Forgotten Relic with an exclusive trailer over at IGN, and it highlights that Moss' platformer-puzzle gameplay works just fine on a non-VR display. In it, players will traverse a fallen kingdom, solve environmental puzzles uniquely woven into the surrounding environment, and embark on a heartfelt tale as Quill, a very cute and very miniature mouse. Check it out in the Moss: The Forgotten Relic reveal trailer for yourself below: "Moss: The Forgotten Relic is an emotional and atmospheric adventure set in the pages of a living storybook, brimming with myth and ancient magic," the game's Steam description reads. "Guide a tiny but determined hero on a heartfelt journey of challenge, courage, and connection." Moss: The Forgotten Relic hits PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, Switch, and PC sometime this Summer. In the meantime, read Game Informer's review of Moss(https://gameinformer.com/games/moss/b/playstationvr/archive/2018/02/27/game-informer-moss-psvr-review.aspx). Are you going to check out Moss: The Forgotten Relic when it launches this Summer? Let us know in the comments below!

You Don’t Need An Expensive PC Or Console To Play Subnautica 2🟩 Xbox, Multi-platform

You Don’t Need An Expensive PC Or Console To Play Subnautica 2

After years of development and behind-the-scenes controversy, Subnautica 2 from developer Unknown Worlds is out now in early access. If you're curious about the game but don't have an Xbox or a PC powerful enough, there is another way to play it--by streaming it to a device you already own via Nvidia GeForce now or Microsoft's cloud gaming service. For GeForce Now, you still have to buy the game and then subscribe to the service to play it. There is a free tier of the service, but it limits you to one-hour sessions, has ads, caps you at 1080p/60fps, and streams from a "basic" rig. Alternatively, you can pay $10/month for no ads and streaming from a GeForce RTX rig with six-hour sessions and up to 1440p/60fps. There is also an Ultimate tier of GeForce Now ($20/month) that has no ads, eight-hour sessions, and up to 5K/360fps. Go to the GeForce Now website(https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/) to learn more. Alternatively, Subnautica 2 is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ($23/month(https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/subnautica-2-game-preview/9N4CGTV96750/0010)) and that includes cloud streaming support, allowing you to beam the game to your computer, phone, tablet, or an older Xbox. There are no time limits for Game Pass Ultimate members, and the streaming quality goes up to 1440p/60fps. Like the PC edition, Subnautica 2 on Xbox represents an in-development version of the game in Microsoft's Game Preview program. Subnautica 2 is not available on PlayStation 5, nor has the game been announced for Sony's platform. It may eventually come to PS5, as the 2018 game landed on PS4 and later PS5, while 2021's Subnautica: Below Zero came to those platforms as well. There is no version of Subnautica 2 for Switch or Switch 2. Subnautica 2 is having a banger of a start on Steam, as the game is currently Steam's No. 1 best-selling game(https://store.steampowered.com/charts/) and its No. 3 overall most-played game currently(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-overcomes-pre-release-controversy-to-become-massive-hit-on-steam/1100-6539956/), with more than 440,000 concurrent users. The game is also available on the Epic Games Store, along with Xbox, so it's no doubt reaching many more people. It's still early, but Subnautica already has a "Very Positive" aggregate rating on Steam from more than 1,800 user reviews. There is no word yet on when the game's 1.0 release may come, however. Regarding the controversy surrounding the game, Unknown Worlds and owner Krafton were embroiled in a legal battle regarding, among other things, a huge bonus payment for senior executives at Unknown Worlds. As part of this, Unknown Worlds CEO Ted Gill was ousted, but a court ruling later forced Krafton(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-publisher-forced-to-reinstate-fired-ceo-judge-blames-kraftons-chatgpt-legal-advice/1100-6538819/) to reinstate Gill and allow Unknown Worlds to go ahead with releasing the game on its schedule. If you're just getting started with Subnautica 2, be sure to consult some of GameSpot's Subnautica 2 guides(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-guides-hub/1100-6539935/).

It’s Equally Exciting And Worrying That Some Of The Best VR Games Are Coming To Console

Some more classic virtual reality games are coming to flatscreen gaming platforms, as Polyarc has announced Moss: The Forgotten Relic. It's great that more players will have access to these wonderful games, but it does feel like a result of the struggles that VR gaming currently faces. Moss: The Forgotten Relic(https://www.polyarcgames.com/news/announcing-moss-the-forgotten-relic) combines Moss(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/moss-review-tiny-triumph/1900-6416866/), Moss: The Twilight Garden, and Moss: Book 2 into a singular experience for Steam and PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles. Like in the VR games, players will guide a mouse named Quill through a storybook adventure, interacting with the world to help out along the way. This version reworks the camera and presentation to work on flatscreen TVs or monitors, when it previously did not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-0bqE1wl00 The Moss games are truly some of the best VR experiences out there, so any console player who picks Moss: The Forgotten Relic will likely be in for a great time. That said, it's hard to ignore that this is happening during a rocky year for the VR gaming industry. Meta largely pulled out of first-party development by shutting down its studios in January(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/meta-shuts-down-the-studios-behind-deadpool-vr-asgards-wrath-2-and-resident-evil-4-vr/1100-6537375/), and many other VR studios have shut down or laid off developers(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ubisoft-just-ceased-game-development-at-the-studio-that-created-rainbow-six-report/1100-6538894/). There's also a larger trend of VR-built games coming to flatscreen platforms this year. Famed VR developer Survios recently ported Alien: Rogue Incursion to consoles(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/alien-rogue-incursion-is-escaping-vr-with-new-enhanced-edition/1100-6531418/), only to subsequently lay off several developers(https://www.uploadvr.com/survios-reportedly-sees-critical-layoffs/). The Myst and Riven VR remakes are also coming to more consoles(https://cyan.com/2026/05/05/myst-and-riven-console-announce/) soon. Even the successful VR developers now feel the need to branch out into more traditional console games. Moss: The Forgotten Relic will be released for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S sometime this summer.

Subnautica 2: Where to find Silver🖥 Xbox, PC

Subnautica 2: Where to find Silver

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/subnautica-2-silver.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Silver is probably the most elusive of the basic materials in Subnautica 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/subnautica-2). It's easy enough to find Titanium, Copper, and Quartz, but for Silver you will need to leave the starting biome behind. And you'll need to find Silver soon, because without it you have no way of increasing your Oxygen supply for longer and deeper dives. Even if you have already found Silver nodes, it's highly likely you've only found the large Silver nodes which can't be mined without specialised equipment. And here's the kicker: that specialised equipment requires Silver to make! So how do you get your first Silver in Subnautica 2? I'll show you exactly where to go below, as well as the best and most efficient Silver locations later on in the game. Read more(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/subnautica-2-where-to-find-silver)

Subnautica 2 Databank entries🖥 Xbox, PC

Subnautica 2 Databank entries

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/subnautica-2-scanning-epicurean.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Update: Added 22 new Databank entries (15th May 2026). Aside from your inventory, the Databank is probably the most powerful tool available on your PDA in Subnautica 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/subnautica-2). Every time you scan a creature for the first time, or unlock a recording from one of the crew here before you, you'll gain a new entry in your Databank which you can use to gain new (and practical) knowledge for the rest of your playthrough. If you're a completionist like me, there's no doubt you'll be after the full list of Databank entries available in the game. I've spent dozens of hours swimming around the whole map tracking down every last scannable item, fish, and recording to bring you - hopefully - the best possible Subnautica 2 Databank resource anywhere online. Read on to find out everything that's out there in the open ocean! Read more(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/subnautica-2-databank-entries)

Subnautica 2: How to get Oxygen in your base🖥 Xbox, PC

Subnautica 2: How to get Oxygen in your base

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/subnautica-2-oxygen-production-offline.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Oxygen is your most important resource in Subnautica 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/subnautica-2), and it's important to give yourself as many ways as possible to top up your Oxygen, wherever you are in the ocean. The best way to do this is by building yourself a base near anywhere you'll be diving often. But after you've fashioned yourself a Habitat Builder and constructed your first base, you might be wondering: how do you supply your base with Oxygen? There's a very simple answer to this question, and it involves Power. Read on to find out exactly how to get Oxygen in your base in Subnautica 2, so that any base you construct in the world becomes a safe haven of breathable air for all your diving needs. Subnautica 2: How to increase Oxygen

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/subnautica-2-swimming-as-a-group.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) One of the most powerful and important upgrades you can make to your equipment in Subnautica 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/subnautica-2) is to increase your max Oxygen supply. When you begin the game, you are limited to a maximum of 45 seconds of breathable air before you start to drown. There are ways to top up your air supply during a dive (including Oxygen-emitting plants, and sacrificing the air in your Air Bladder for an extra Oxygen boost). But in reality, your progress will be severely limited until you craft yourself an Air Tank to boost your Oxygen supply. In this guide, I'll walk you through everything you need to get in order to craft the three most important Oxygen supply items: the Standard Air Tank, the High Capacity Air Tank, and the Rebreather. Each of these serves as a massive progression milestone, and it's worth completing all the steps below as quickly as possible in your playthrough.
