Mortal Shell 2: How to revive your Shell
Overview & Key Takeaways

Your Shell is your trusty tether in Mortal Shell 2, providing abilities, extra health, and a sense of security as you traverse a dangerous world. It makes sense, then, that losing your Shell leaves you in a naked, vulnerable state.
Luckily, your Harbinger can reclaim their Shell fairly easily. Doing so, however, is vastly different from how it was in the first Mortal Shell, where all you needed to do was run towards your Shell and jump back into it before an enemy cleaved you down.
In this guide we'll explain exactly how to revive your Shell in Mortal Shell 2, and we'll also offer up tips for staying alive while doing so.

How to revive your Shell
If you lose your Shell in Mortal Shell 2, you can revive it by either dealing melee damage until your Shell recovers or resting at a Beacon.
To deal enough melee damage, look to the lower right-hand side of the screen when your Harbinger is out of its Shell; you'll see an icon of your current Shell with a percentage.

This percentage will slowly rise the more melee damage you inflict, and when it reaches 100%, a swirl will appear on your Harbinger with a button command (Y by default on an Xbox gamepad) to revive your Shell.
Once you see this indicator, it's time to revive your Shell! Best to do it ASAP, unless you're one of those masochists attempting a no-Shell run. | Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Playstack
Be aware that every Shell revival gets harder, requiring more bloodshed to raise that percentage to 100. Resting at a Beacon will reset this, however.
Staying alive until you can raise the percentage to 100% is also tricky, since your Harbinger is relatively weak compared to all of the Shells. You won't be able to use your Shell ability as the Harbinger, which forces you to focus on mobility and dodging opponent attacks.
Hardening is extremely useful for survivability and letting your Harbinger endure dangerous hits. Meanwhile, parrying is also handy for recharging your Shell, but comes with a higher risk.
