It's got all the grit and confidence of a true soulslike, and a haunting world that's truly exciting to uncover - in a way that only a few open-world games can match. But as you may expect, the brutal combat, labyrinthine pathways, and obtuse moon logic questlines all combine to make this a pretty challenging game to complete - let alone 100%.

Mortal Shell 2 plants you behind the eyeless mask of the Harbinger - a creature guided by the godlike UnderMether to recover her Ova. Why? To try to cleanse the world of the corruption left behind by a dark and powerful being known only as the "Passenger", which journeyed to the world inside the UnderMether herself. The Harbinger can possess fallen mortal heroes - known as Shells - which grant the Harbinger access to various abilities, much like classes in other RPGs. But here, the Harbinger can switch between the different Shells at any point in the game.
