🎮 PlayStation, VR, Multi-platformHigh On Life Is Coming To VR, And Yes, You Can Stroke Your Weird Guns
High on Life(https://www.gamespot.com/games/high-on-life/) is coming to a new platform, as the irreverent first-person shooter with talking alien guns is getting a VR port. Announced during the VR Games Showcase, this new version of High on Life will launch for Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR headsets in 2027. Originally developed by Squanch Games, the VR port of High on Life is being handled by Flat2VR Studios. The developer says that it is essentially rebuilding the game so that it can take advantage of VR tech, allowing players to interact with their talking--and opinionated--guns. The trailer below shows off some of these new features, like being able to stroke your weapons and feed them, and we bet they'll have something to say about that. "As we're adding all of these fun, manual VR interactions, it's really important that they make sense in gameplay and that they're maintaining the fast, fluid, and powerful feeling of combat," High on Life VR game director Emily O'Neil said in the reveal trailer. https://youtu.be/EQziBgQgrJI First released in 2022, High on Life saw players take on an alien cartel that invaded Earth and turned the populace into recreational drugs. As an up-and-coming bounty hunter armed with Gatliens--sentient guns that could be used to solve all kinds of problems--the game was a hit thanks to its weird sense of humor, fun gameplay, and an extremely Australian knife(https://high-on-life.fandom.com/wiki/Knifey) hellbent on stabbing everything. A sequel was released earlier this year, but reviews were lukewarm(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/high-on-life-2-review-skate-n-gun/1900-6418463/), thanks in part to various technical issues that hampered its launch. VR fans can also look forward to a port of System Shock from Flat2VR Studios. Not much was revealed about this project, but the teaser trailer(https://youtu.be/w-baA9y0Ld0) suggested that the VR version will be based on the superb 2023 remake(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/the-best-pc-games-of-2023/2900-4984/) of the cult-classic 1994 game.
🎮 VR, Multi-platformJob Simulator Is Finally Giving Your VR Headset The Day Off
Job Simulator(https://www.gamespot.com/games/job-simulator/) has long been one of the best reasons to own a VR headset, and it might be bringing the glory days of working behind a counter--or cubicle hell--to a flat screen near you. Homeworld: Vast Reaches developer FarBridge has announced Job Simulator: Human Relations, which will see up to four players work together to complete tasks during their virtual eight-hour shift, like competing for resources or surviving natural disasters to appease their robot overlords. While you won't be playing as squishy humans in this co-op chaos game, you will be piloting several robots attempting to navigate the human workplace. The project is seeking crowdfunding to help make it a reality, as FarBridge has launched a Kickstarter campaign(https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/farbridge/job-simulator-human-relations) for it. If the studio successfully raises $150,000, the funds will be used to support the game's development. Backers can expect invites to private playtests, exclusive development, and VIP Discord access as they contribute to the game. An "employment package" starts at $10, and higher tiers will include a Steam copy of the completed game, in-game recognition, and an opportunity to design a JobBot face or corporate motivational poster. If stretch goals are met, the game will expand with additional disasters, customization options, jobs, and more. https://youtu.be/xu--JYZ6RIY?si=lDzCaaJ5htxPBkQL "Job Simulator has always been good at finding the joke in the everyday nonsense of work," FarBridge CEO and founder Patrick Curry said in a press statement. "With Job Simulator: Human Relations, we started wondering what that would look like if you had to deal with all of it alongside your friends. That idea opened up a lot of possibilities, and we don’t want to figure them all out behind closed doors. Kickstarter gives us a way to keep building the game with players involved from the beginning." !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-1.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-2.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-3.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-4.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-5.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-6.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-7.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-8.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-9.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-10.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-11.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-12.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-13.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-14.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-15.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-16.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-17.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-18.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Job-Simulator-Human-Relations-19.jpg?w=636) Owlchemy Labs CEOwl--no, really, that's their title--Andrew Eiche added that with Job Simulator turning 10 this year, the studio wanted to grow the cult-classic. FarBridge was a natural fit, given that they had already worked alongside Owlchemy on several projects and gelled with the developer's vibe. "They get our sense of humor, they understand how we build playful systems, and we trust them to bring that spirit to a new kind of experience for fans new and old," Eiche said. If you haven't played it yet, Job Simulator is set in 2050 and casts you as a living exhibit in the Museum of Human Employment. Aiming to recreate human working conditions, robots have gleaned information from social media posts, corporate training videos, and toxic productivity gurus, resulting in an inaccurate nine-to-five environment. Your role in all this? Do your job and hit production goals while avoiding the chaos erupting around you, all so that you can earn some sweet promotions and gameplay perks.

🟩 Xbox, VR, Multi-platformXbox Game Pass Is Going Somewhere You Probably Forgot About
Xbox Game Pass is teaming up with another subscription service this week, albeit one that appeals to a niche section of gamers. Facebook parent group Meta and Xbox have announced that a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass is now available to Meta Horizon+ subscribers, giving them access to over 50 games via cloud streaming. Games can also be downloaded directly from the cloud and onto a Meta Quest headset, and the starting lineup includes a mix of AAA hits and classic indies. One thing to note is that cloud-streaming games do have a time limit of 10 hours per month through this subscription, and a high-speed internet connection is also required. So far, the list includes(https://www.meta.com/blog/quest-3s-xbox-edition-bundle/) games like Fallout 76, Fallout 4, Overcooked 2, Grounded, DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, and Snowrunner. Meta says that players will soon be able to use their Meta Quest Touch controllers to emulate an Xbox controller, or if you already have one, you can pair it with the headset to play games. If you're unfamiliar with it, Meta Horizon+ is a subscription service similar to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, as it offers users a library of VR games, deals, and a few freebies for an $8 fee every month or $60 annually. If you'd prefer a bigger library, you can also access Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via the dedicated Xbox app on the Meta marketplace, and use cloud streaming to access those games. This is a separate--and pricier--subscription, and to ensure lag-free gaming, a 5Ghz internet connection is recommended. This isn't the first time that Meta and Xbox have teamed up, as last year, the companies unveiled the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition that featured a carbon black color scheme, matching Touch Plus controllers, an Xbox controller, an Elite Strap, and a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-game-pass-price-games-tiers/1100-6524825/). That version of the virtual- and mixed-reality headset is designed to be a smaller sibling to the older Quest 3 headset, and in a nutshell, its lenses aren't quite as impressive in comparison. It does have slightly improved battery life, and it is cheaper, but the price of these headsets recently increased(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/meta-quest-3-vr-headset-prices-are-increasing-making-reality-more-expensive-to-escape/1100-6539447/) by $50-$100 each. Meta said that the current global memory shortage led to price increases, but it pledged to keep Quest headset accessories at their current prices. Both of these headsets are popular as entry-level devices, as they're fairly powerful and they're completely wireless, while the game library includes well-received titles like Batman(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/batman-arkham-shadow-review-i-am-batman/1900-6418308/) and Deadpool VR(https://www.gamespot.com/games/marvels-deadpool-vr/) games. 🖥 PC, VR, Multi-platformAfter Months Of Silence, Valve Finally Narrows Down The Steam Machine’s Release Date
After months of radio silence, Valve has given the strongest indication yet that its living room PC, the Steam Machine, and next-generation VR headset, the Steam Frame, are both nearing release. In an update on Valve's Steamworks Development forums(https://store.steampowered.com/news/group/4145017/view/716780409378048027), the company committed to a summer release window for both devices. This could mean that you might be waiting for either all the way up until September, putting them well beyond the initial early 2026 promises from when Valve initially announced both the Steam Machine and Steam Frame last year. Despite the brief update, Valve has yet to share any pricing details for either device. The ongoing memory and storage crisis, fueled by the demands of AI data centers, struck at exactly the wrong time for Valve as it was preparing the release of its Steam Machine. With speculation already rife over what the living room PC might cost, the company has since raised the prices of its Steam Deck(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-deck-gets-massive-price-hike/) by nearly 50%, with the 1TB OLED model now retailing for $950. An increased wait for the Steam Machine has not helped its prospects, especially with the understanding now that it's likely going to launch at a much higher price than Valve initially desired. The devices 8GB of VRAM has been a contentious talking point since its reveal, with the wide belief that it's not enough to support new AAA releases, especially at 4K resolutions. That has been helped somewhat by AMD's announcement of FSR 4 support for older RDNA 3 GPUs(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-ai-powered-tech-behind-pssr-2-is-coming-to-older-amd-gpus-including-the-steam-machine/1100-6539963/), which the Steam Deck will ship with later this year.
