Star Fox is the Switch 2’s most impressive visual showcase yet

The biggest Switch 2 exclusives so far have largely been about scale. Mario Kart World introduced a wide open continent to race across, Donkey Kong Bananza let you smash basically everything around you, and Pokopia brought an expansive Minecraft-style creative experience to the Pok&233;mon universe. !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/23/ab614f55/sonicfrontiersde2.jpg.webp) As part of today’s Sonic the Hedgehog 35th Anniversary livestream, Sega has revealed that Sonic Frontiers(https://gameinformer.com/review/sonic-frontiers/into-the-wild-blue-yonder) is coming to Switch 2…today! The Definitive Edition of the 2022 adventure is now available and boasts every piece of post-launch content along with improvements. Although Sonic Frontiers is already available on the original Switch, Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition on Switch 2 features improved graphics and performance. This version also includes The Final Horizon(https://gameinformer.com/gamescom-2023/2023/08/22/sonic-frontiers-final-free-content-update-adds-new-playable-characters-in) update that introduces a new story campaign, new challenges, a photo mode, and playable characters in Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. Capcom Spotlight Will Feature Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Onimusha: Way Of The Sword, And Monster Hunter Stories 3 This Week🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Capcom Spotlight Will Feature Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Onimusha: Way Of The Sword, And Monster Hunter Stories 3 This Week

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/23/4b92bef9/dragonsdogma2darkarisendragonfire.jpg.webp) A 30-minute Capcom Spotlight has been announced and airs this Thursday, June 25. The presentation will provide new updates on Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. The presentation begins at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET. It appears these three titles will be the only ones featured. Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen was recently revealed(https://gameinformer.com/2026/06/09/dragons-dogma-2-announces-dark-arisen-expansion-adding-new-areas-dungeons-and-cosmetics) during the June 9 Nintendo Direct and will be an expansion that also serves as an improved version of the 2024 base game. It is set to launch on October 9. Onimusha: Way of the Sword has been heavily featured over the last few months. There have been multiple trailers and hands-on previews from the press (including our most recent impressions from Summer Game Fest(https://gameinformer.com/preview/2026/06/12/a-thrilling-boss-battle-makes-for-another-strong-showing)), a public demo, and a September 25 release date. One has to wonder what else Capcom could say about the game it hasn't already, but we'll find out soon. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the only game of the bunch that has already launched, releasing on March 13 (check out our review(https://gameinformer.com/review/monster-hunter-stories-3-twisted-reflection/beauty-and-the-toothless-beast)). Perhaps Capcom will announce some sort of DLC. For more recent Capcom news, check out the announcements of Resident Evil Veronica(https://gameinformer.com/sgf-2026/2026/06/05/resident-evil-veronica-is-a-code-veronica-remake-and-it-launches-next-year), Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance,(https://gameinformer.com/sgf-2026/2026/06/05/take-to-the-skies-in-new-monster-hunter-wilds-ascendance-expansion-when-it) and Street Fighter 6's Year 4 DLC line-up, which includes Final Fantasy VII's Tifa(https://gameinformer.com/sgf-2026/2026/06/05/final-fantasy-viis-tifa-is-coming-to-street-fighter-6).

Ocarina Of Time Fan Project Bows Out Before Nintendo Comes Knocking🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Ocarina Of Time Fan Project Bows Out Before Nintendo Comes Knocking

A fan recreating Ocarina of Time(https://www.gamespot.com/games/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time/) has scrapped the project, citing fears of "Nintendo ninjas" following the official announcement of the Switch 2 remake. According to IGN(https://www.ign.com/articles/zelda-fan-ditches-ocarina-of-time-unreal-engine-remake-after-a-decade-of-work), YouTuber CryZENx(https://www.youtube.com/cryzenx) pulled the plug on their The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time PC recreation after at least a decade of working on it. In a blog post on their official Patreon(https://www.patreon.com/CryZENx/posts/future-plans-160924640), CryZENx told their community that the "Ocarina of Time project has officially stopped." CryZENx didn't provide an exact reason for the cancellation, but in the comments, they explained that "it's better to just stop the project for now or I would have disappeared … because of Nintendo ninjas." It's no secret that Nintendo is quite litigious when it comes to its IP. Just look at the lawsuit the company levied against Palworld developer Pocketpair, which appears to be nearing its end(https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/palworld-lawsuit-nears-end-with-nintendo-reportedly-poised-to-gain-almost-nothing/). The company also went after an alleged pirate in October 2025(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-is-suing-a-reddit-moderator-for-4-5-million/1100-6535259/) for hosting piracy sites. And in May 2025, Nintendo threw its blue shell at the gaming accessory company Genki(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-sues-accessory-firm-genki-over-unauthorized-switch-2-lineup/1100-6531304/) for "unauthorized" Switch 2 mockups, with that lawsuit getting settled in September of that year(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/switch-2-mockup-creator-ordered-to-pay-nintendo-damages/1100-6534603/). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZGKmisSDmk It would seem that CryZENx doesn't want anything to do with Nintendo's lawyers, hence why they're ending development. Their YouTube channel is filled with videos showcasing the project (which was being built in Unreal Engine), so it's entirely possible Nintendo may come a-knocking. Despite fearing "Nintendo ninjas," CryZENx polled their community in that same Patreon blog, asking what other projects they should work on. The list is stacked with Nintendo IP, from Diddy Kong Racing to Twilight Princess to Metroid Prime Hunters. Nintendo finally revealed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-finally-reveals-the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-remake-for-2026/) during its summer Nintendo Direct Showcase. The announcement was short and contained zero gameplay(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/zelda-ocarina-remakes-lack-of-gameplay-did-it-a-disservice/), but it generated millions of views--as well as concerns that it may smooth down the game's rougher edges(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-remake-sands-down-series-edges/). We'll find out when it lands on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime this year.
