Bancho The Chef Is A Dave The Diver Prequel

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/53d25a83/bancho04.jpg.webp) Mintrocket is returning to the Dave the Diver universe with a new game and visual style. The prequel follows one of Dave the Diver's most memorable character, sushi chef Bancho. The game, titled Bancho the Chef, follows Bancho before he teamed up with Dave and was learning how to be an expert chef. The description for the game reads, "Meet Bancho - long before he became the acclaimed sushi master of Blue Hole. Bancho the Chef is an all-new standalone prequel from the creators of Dave the Diver, following a young Bancho as he travels across Asia to learn from master chefs on his journey to greatness." The trailer doesn't offer too much insight into the gameplay. It looks like minogames about cooking and learning how to cook. The visuals are also different from Dave the Diver as it has dropped the pixel-look for something more straightforward. It does seem to reatin the style and color palette, however. Bancho the Chef is coming to PlayStation 5 and likely other platforms, as well, eventually. !(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/53d25a83/bancho04.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/cf3072e9/bancho02.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/94c1386e/bancho03.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/97bb93fb/bancho01.jpg.webp)

Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis Gets February 2027 Release Date In New Trailer

!Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis Trailer Release Date PlayStation State of Play(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/4416f948/tr1.jpg.webp) Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis(https://www.gameinformer.com/product/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis), the Unreal Engine 5 remake of Lara Croft's very first adventure(https://www.gameinformer.com/the-game-awards-2025/2025/12/11/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis-is-a-remake-of-the-first-game-in-the) in development at Flying Wild Hog and Crystal Dynamics, will launch on February 12, 2027, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. That's technically a delay, since it was originally set to launch sometime in 2026. This release date was revealed during today's PlayStation State of Play in a new trailer, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis continues to look sharp, highlighting a return to the more classic style of Lara Croft games while reimagining her very first adventure in 1996's Tomb Raider. Check it out in the new Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis trailer below: As Lara Croft, you must harness your wits and athleticism to explore exotic locations lost to time, according to the game's description: "From the jungles of Peru to the ancient ruins of Greece, the deserts of Egypt, and a mysterious Mediterranean island shrouded in Myth – traverse treacherous landscapes, solve deadly contraptions, and face lethal predators as you hunt for the scattered pieces of the Scion, an artifact of immeasurable power." On top of all of that, there are also dinosaurs, and who doesn't love a little dinosaur-related crisis in their action games? Okay, maybe Lara doesn't, but it looks like a good time for us. In case you missed it, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis(https://www.gameinformer.com/product/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis) is just one of the upcoming games starring Lara Croft. Developer Crystal Dynamics is also working on a brand-new adventure called Tomb Raider: Catalyst,(https://gameinformer.com/href) which is due out sometime next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While waiting for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, check out the game's reveal trailer(https://www.gameinformer.com/the-game-awards-2025/2025/12/11/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis-is-a-remake-of-the-first-game-in-the) from last year, and then read this feature(https://www.gameinformer.com/2025/12/15/tomb-raider-devs-explain-series-timeline-lara-crofts-new-voice-and-links-between) about the series' timeline, Lara Croft's new voice, and links between this remake and Catalyst. New Wolverine Gameplay Offers First Look At Jean Grey

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/f3a1c487/wolverinejean.jpg.webp) Insomniac offered a new look at Wolverine to open today’s Sony State of Play presentation. The new gameplay presentation shows Logan fighting his way through a group of Reavers to save a group of mutant children. If there’s one thing that the presentation makes clear right from the jump, it’s that Wolverine does not pull his punches. The entire demo is bloody, violent, and filled with brutal slashing injuries on a moment-to-moment basis. We also get a first look at one of the most integral characters from the X-Men fiction making her debut in the game, as Jean Grey shows up to bring her telekinetic mutant gifts into the fight. The demonstration includes an extensive infiltration sequence that shows off some of Wolverine’s traversal capability, which involves jumping and sliding along his claws. Claw attacks are unabashedly brutal, with kill animations showing limb removal, head-piercings, and more. Shortly into the demo, we see the telltale pink telekinetic power effects of Jean Grey, as she levitates down into the battle to take out some Reavers. Given the complex friendship and relationship between the two characters in the comics, it’s one of the more exciting character additions we’ve seen so far, joining the likes of Mystique and Sabretooth. !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/63070bd1/wolverine04.jpg.webp) After Jean’s arrival, the combat continues into an intense motorcycle chase after the kidnapped mutant kids, including a miniboss-esque fight atop a moving truck, where Wolverine takes a bunch of damage, and we get to see a button-tapping sequence that lets him rapidly heal. Of the many impressive visual feats on display in the new gameplay, the healing of flesh over top of Logan’s adamantium bones is certainly one of the most impressive. Wolverine continues to look amazing, if decidedly mature in its presentation, every time we’ve seen it in action. The inclusion of familiar Marvel cameos is also a ton of fun, opening the door to the ways this game could act as a gateway into more Marvel adventures in the future. Insomniac is targeting a September 15 launch for Wolverine on PlayStation 5.

Rayman Legends: Retold Is A Remake Of Rayman's Best Adventure And It Launches This October On PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, And PC

!Rayman Legends Retold Ubisoft Remake(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/28/b27a23e6/assets2026051779694368rlrkeyart16x90602263pmpt.jpg.webp) Ubisoft has revealed Rayman Legends Retold, a 3D remake of 2013's Rayman Legends, and it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on October 1. Don't let "3D" scare you – it still looks and plays like the original 2D platformer, but with newly updated 3D visuals courtesy of Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine, used for games like Star Wars Outlaws and The Division 2. In congruency, this 3D remake of a 2D game makes Retold a 2.5D platformer. I traveled to Montpellier, France, to visit Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio that created Rayman and is working as lead developer on this remake alongside Ubisoft Milan, to play roughly two hours of Retold. I played through the first two worlds – Old Teensie Kingdom and The Stinkbog – tried out the new Star Fox-esque dragon-riding levels, got a quick look at the returning-from-Rayman-Origins-but-new-to-Legends-Retold Land of the Dead world, and even played through two new music levels. Rayman Legends is one of my favorite platformers, and though I am still conflicted on Ubisoft leaving behind its beautiful hand-drawn animated visuals of the original 2D adventure, I can't deny that I had a blast playing Retold; I even grew quite fond of the 3D visual style, and that's because of a thoughtful design approach to updating the visuals. Yes, it's now in 3D but it still contains the whimsical fantasy of Legends' 2D style, now with additional fore-and-background details that add welcome touches of staging to each level. But first, check out the Rayman Legends Retold trailer for yourself below to get a look at its new art: Like the original, Retold will feature 1 to 4-player couch co-op in the campaign, with playable characters Rayman, Globox, Teensy, and Barbara returning but with updated visual styles to transition them from 2D to 3D models. Plus, Kung-Foot returns with its simple but fun Smash Bros. meets soccer gameplay. Despite Retold looking quite different to the original Legends, I'm happy to report that it plays identically, and that's because under the hood of the 3D staging is still the same 2D bones that felt great in 2013. Of course, tweaks here and there and quality-of-life updates make it feel all the better, but trust that Retold will retain the gameplay that makes Legends so great. Ubisoft Montpellier developers even showed us the 2D engine running under the 3D visuals, highlighting how the art and level design teams have worked hard to use interesting and unique visual tricks to make a 3D-looking game play like a 2D one, hence the 2.5D feel. The parallax scrolling is an especially pleasant addition, adding environmental depth to the platforming gauntlets throughout Retold. It's an especially fun effect in the new dragon-riding levels, which connect the end of one world with the beginning of the next. They play like fantasy-flavored Star Fox missions, where you control the dragon like a starship, shooting fireballs at enemies and obstacles alike in your way. Unlike the standard platforming levels of Retold, where Rayman is looking to collect kidnapped Teensies on the way to the end, each dragon begins with every teensie of the level on their back; your goal is to reach the end without losing any, but each time you take damage, one falls off. You can also hold down a button to make the dragons fart, though I wasn't able to discern if this did anything at all (other than make me chuckle because I am a child). !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/28/ff5013a7/rlrtntdragonride0602263pmpt.jpg.webp) Returning music levels, like the "Black Betty" one, remain a highlight of the remade Legends adventure, as do the new additions. And though I lamented the new songs selected for these levels – one is the "Macarena", which begins in a Mexican festival-themed level before strangely becoming an old-world Italian restaurant stage – it's still a great time speeding through levels while jumping, punching, and gliding to the beat of a real-world track. For all the greatness of Legends, its finale sucks (something a producer at the studio agreed with me on), and Ubisoft Montpellier is tackling that issue head-on with a brand new villain. However, their likeness remains a mystery to me, save for purple glowing eyes, a black shroud, and the ability to corrupt enemies with magic. I'm excited to see what depth, if any, this villain adds to the entire Retold package. At the very least, I hope they make for a more satisfying and climactic conclusion to an otherwise excellent platforming adventure. There's a lot more new in Retold, including additional tracks from famed composer Grant Kirkhope, and I dive into all of that, as well as exclusive insight from Ubisoft Montpellier art directors, producers, animators, and more, in my six-page feature on Retold in the next issue of Game Informer. Keep an eye out for it there if you're a subscriber, and if you're not, head here(https://www.gameinformer.com/subscribe) to do so before it's too late. Rayman Legends Retold launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on October 1. In the meantime, read Game Informer's Rayman Legends review(https://www.gameinformer.com/games/raymanlegends/b/playstation4/archive/2014/02/20/rayman-hops-from-strength-to-strength.aspx), and then check out our preview of Ubisoft's other 2026 remake, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced(https://www.gameinformer.com/preview/2026/05/21/a-textbook-remake-and-all-the-better-for-it). Wolverine Gameplay Demo Violence Makes It Look Like Mortal Kombat

State of Play(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-state-of-play-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/) made its return today, and just as Sony promised, it kicked things off with a fresh--and brutal--look at Marvel's Wolverine(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-gameplay-platforms-and-everything-we-know/1100-6516081/) from Insomniac. Game director Marcus Smith outlined the story, which centers on Wolverine attempting to save a group of kidnapped mutants from an extremist group called the Reavers. From there, we saw a lengthy chunk of gameplay as Wolverine infiltrated, and then eviscerated, a sprawling camp of bad guys. After seeing Leech being loaded into a truck, Wolverine slices through a steel beam to create a chain reaction that brings down a shipping container on the villains, and then he's joined by Jean Grey, who helps hold the Reavers in place while Wolverine does what he does best. At what point she even telekinesis-throws a bad guy into his claws. It's pretty gnarly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiBoNgYI5Q The truck starts to get away, so Wolverine gives chase in a nearby motorcycle, using it to jump atop the moving caravan and leap from truck to truck, playing pin cushion with the baddies. Frankly the last one should just see what he did to their friends and give up, but they never do. One notable element throughout the trailer is that the Reavers seem to be augmented with cybernetic parts. Many of them have prosthetic limbs and the big-bad leading the caravan has cyborg arms that can go hand-to-hand with Wolverine's claws. The final sizzle reel teased lots of other characters like Omega Red, Mystique, Sabretooth, and Ogun. An update on the PlayStation Blog(https://blog.playstation.com/2026/06/02/marvels-wolverine-new-gameplay-story-details-from-state-of-play/) noted that Logan can hit a higher tier level in his Rage meter than we saw in the demo, which creates a visual effect inspired by the Black, White, and Blood series of Marvel comics. It also noted that Wolverine will feature a large array of accessibility options. As the new gameplay showed, Insomniac is aiming to deliver a mature and darker experience(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-will-be-full-sized-and-mature-in-tone/1100-6496210/) when compared to its work on the Spider-Man games. Wolverine isn't exactly known for treating his enemies with kid gloves, and this new footage highlighted how Marvel's famous mutant will hack and slash his way(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-trailer-reveals-2026-release-window-and-very-bloody-gameplay/1100-6532076/) through the opposition. At the same time, the developer has also teased that it'll be digging deep into the core of Logan and what makes him tick. Australian actor Liam McIntyre provides the voice and motion-capture acting of the character, and he said that his performance will reveal the "essence" of the character. Marvel's Wolverine launches on September 15 for PS5. PlayStation State Of Play June 2026: All The Biggest Announcements And Games

Ahead of Summer Game Fest 2026(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/every-video-game-showcase-to-watch-in-2026/2900-7446/), PlayStation is hosting its next State of Play to showcase what its first-party studios and select third-party developers have cooking up in 2026 and beyond for the PlayStation 5. The 60-minute event should be filled to the brim with announcements of new games and updated looks at previously revealed titles--don't know about y'all but I have my finger's crossed for more info on Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine and Ember Lab's Kena: Scars of Kosmora. We'll be watching the showcase alongside everyone else, so if you miss an announcement or two, or can't tune in to watch the State of Play, you can find all the biggest announcements right here. With each new trailer and reveal, we'll be updating this round-up and linking to where you can find more information. Marvel's Wolverine !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Screenshot-2026-06-01-124012-1.png?w=1024) The showcase kicked off with a new look at Marvel's Wolverine, the upcoming superhero action game from Insomniac. The new gameplay trailer detailed how the studio has evolved the combo- and counter-focused combat of its Marvel's Spider-Man series to be a lot faster and less "punchy," making for a gaming experience that looks a whole lot more violent than Peter Parker and Miles Morales' adventures. It's a fitting shift for the titular mutant. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls To keep the Marvel hype going, the showcase next revealed a new gameplay trailer for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The trailer focused on notable Marvel villains, with gameplay for Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage as they fought against heroes like Storm and Spider-Man. Rayman Legends Retold Up next, we got an announcement and gameplay reveal for Rayman Legends Retold, an upcoming remake of Rayman Legends. The remake adopts a 3D art style and adds a brand-new villain, story, and levels. It's scheduled to launch on October 1. Bancho The Chef The announcement and gameplay trailer for Bancho the Chef is a nice surprise. The game is a direct prequel to Dave the Diver, focusing on the titular Bancho, a cook who aids Dave in his game. The game seems to explore the cooking process and running a restaurant through multiple minigames, capturing the hectic pressure of the lifestyle by testing you on precision and timing. Kemuri Ikumi Nakamura's next game was up next in the showcase. In Kemuri, you play as a demon hunter and unleash what look to be devastating combos in supernatural fights that take place across an entire cityscape. The game will support three-player co-op and is scheduled to come out in 2027. Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis The new gameplay trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis offered our first look at Lara Croft's upcoming action-adventure. The game looks a whole lot like the reboot trilogy, but with a greater focus on Lara's over-the-top antics and physical attractiveness--staples of the original games. The game is sadly being delayed. The Lost Wild Up next was The Lost Wild, an upcoming first-person stealth game that looks straight-up like something from the Jurassic Park universe. In it, you play as a woman as she carefully makes her way through an abandoned nature reserve and the corresponding facilities as she does her best to elude the notice of dinosaurs and other forms of once-extinct prehistoric life. Silent Hill Townfall This game looks like it was made specifically for the people who adored Firewatch, as the new gameplay trailer focused on one man slowly making his way through a space while being tethered to other people through a hand radio. Obviously, however, with this being a Silent Hill game, things get way creepier than Firewatch. Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve In an interesting shift, the next Ace Combat is putting you behind the eyes of the game's protagonist. Shifting into a first-person perspective for all gameplay both in and outside the cockpit, Ace Combat 8 looks to put a greater emphasis on the story of your pilot and those they fly with for a campaign that feels more personal. Stuntman Hollywood From the sky to the pavement: the next trailer showcased gameplay for the upcoming racer, Stuntman Holiwood. The trailer focused on police chases, acrobatic stunts, and all-around mayhem, with even the time-traveling Delorean making an appearance. The game focuses on performing stunts for Hollywood movies. Ill The reveal for Ill revealed we'll be playing as a man who awoke from a coma to find himself in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. The first-person shooter is set to launch in 2027. Control Resonant This was a bizarre trailer for an interesting-looking experience... which describes the world of Control very well. This sequel adopts a new protagonist, new gameplay, and a new setting, but still deals with weird stuff happening to people just trying to make it through the workday. Marathon: Nightfall Up next, we got a new story trailer for Marathon which goes into what players can expect to experience in the upcoming season. The trailer was very creepy and dark, almost leaning into a horror-y vibe as it showcased the new zone and new shell. Until Dawn 2 You the know the drill of how these games go and look. And this one is the sequel to the game that started it all! This is the very first look at the upcoming story-driven adventure where your bad choices will inevitably lead to characters' deaths and good choices will only leave them traumatized from the ordeal.
