At $549, Lenovo’s Legion Go S gaming handheld is suddenly a good deal

Fortnite Is Giving Out A Bunch Of Free Stuff, But Only On Saturday

Fortnite is holding what Epic Games is calling a "community day" on Saturday, May 30, and that means there will be free cosmetics for everyone who logs in that day, more free stuff for anyone who earns a win in Battle Royale, and a bonus style for The Foundation (Reforged) for battle pass owners. There's a gameplay component to the event as well, as the community day will also add some interesting new one-day-only gameplay changes and our first teaser for the upcoming Chapter 7 Season 3. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HJLEQDqWAAA-ko5.jpg?w=1024) Free cosmetics for Fortnite community day Anyone who logs in to Fortnite between 9 AM ET on May 30 and 9 AM ET on May 31 will receive the Reflector weapon wrap(https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Reflector) and the Community Brella(https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Community'Brella). The Reflector wrap is all silver and was added to the game files as part of the Silver Surfer's set in 2020, but it was never released. The Community Brella is an all-black umbrella glider that is very similar to the old One Shot John Wick umbrella, and it also comes with an additional style. And for those who have the battle pass, either by purchasing with V-Bucks or an active Fortnite Crew subscription, you'll also be awarded with the tie-wearing, office-ready variant of The Foundation (Reforged) when you log in. There's also another set of three items you can earn by winning a round of Battle Royale during the community day event: The Lemmie Axe(https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Llemmie) pickaxe, the Space Blaster weapon wrap(https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/SpaceBlaster), and the Loons back bling(https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Loons). Like the Reflector wrap, these items were all originally added to the game files years ago but weren't released, and one of them is particularly interesting--The Loons back bling dates all the way back to 2019, and the skin it belongs to, Brilliant Bomber, still hasn't been released. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HJVwGXAbEAIUmXge4569b.jpg?w=1024) Lastly, we've got a set of Twitch drops you can earn by watching Fortnite content creators on Twitch. These items are the accessories from the Metal Menace item shop bundle(https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/MetalMenaceBundle). If you get these drops, you'll be able to buy the bundle, with the Skulldroid skin, for 200 V-Bucks next time it rotates into the shop. Fortnite community day gameplay changes Battle Royale will be full of new wrinkles and loot for the community day event, with golden fireworks guns, finger guns, and supercharged pizza joining the loot pool, and the map being filled with blue chests. And Fortnite will hold a special new Power Hour in Battle Royale from 12:30 PM PT to 1:30 PM PT on May 30, with all players starting each match with a self-res, a Cube Rifle, and an Infinity Blade. The Power Hour will also start the final stretch of the season with some sort of in-game teaser for the Season 2 finale event next Friday. That teaser should also give us our first meaningful clues about Chapter 7 Season 3, which starts just a week after the community day event on June 6.

The golden age of handheld gaming is already over

For a few glorious years, a $399 portable gadget could run almost anything you'd want to play. In 2022, the Steam Deck finally made PC gaming portable and affordable. I played through the vast majority of Elden Ring on a Steam Deck, agape that such a rich world could comfortably fit between my two hands. &8230;

The Steam Controller Has A Strange Rumble Issue That’s Making It Unusable In Some Games🖥 PC, Multi-platform

The Steam Controller Has A Strange Rumble Issue That’s Making It Unusable In Some Games

Valve's Steam Controller presents itself as one of the best options for playing games on PC, specifically (but not limited to(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-to-play-non-steam-games-with-a-steam-controller-on-pc/)) games on Steam and through Steam Input. With tight integration into the platform, tons of customization options, and the ability to easily play controller and traditional keyboard- and- mouse titles alike, there's little to suggest that this isn't the one controller that does it all. Except that, currently, some firmware quirks are severely holding it back. One of the most prevalent involves the controller's rumble, which exhibits some unpredictable and, in many cases, completely broken behavior, depending on the game you're playing. I've had a mostly great time with the Steam Controller, but recently some newer (and older) games have exposed the issue. With 007 First Light, the Steam Controller consistently (and powerfully) pulses, almost as if it's mimicking an in-game heartbeat, irrespective of what I'm doing. It's the same in Forza Horizon 6, albeit with far less force, but with the same rhythmic vibration that doesn't stop. Swapping to an Xbox controller in both cases resolves the issue entirely, laying blame squarely on Valve's controller. But with Hollow Knight: Silksong, however, everything works as expected. That's the same for an older game like Metro Exodus, making the matter more confusing. This isn't isolated either. The Steam Controller subreddit(https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/1tod0kh/steamcontroller2026rumbleisalmostunusable/?sort=new) is starting to become filled with similar posts regarding strange rumble behavior recently, perhaps due to a new firmware version potentially breaking something for those who have downloaded it. Some users have mentioned sending in the controller for a replacement, only for that to exhibit the same issue. Other users report not experiencing the issue at all. Steam Support, as reported by others, lays the blame squarely on developer support, and the absence of an official Steam Controller profile. That might be the case, but, as some users have noted, that shouldn't make the controller completely unusable. We've contacted Valve directly, and will update this story with any reply we receive in the future. It's a disappointing reality for a controller that is already very expensive, despite all of its distinct features that are meant to set it apart from the plethora of third-party controllers. But if game support is going to be this spotty, and especially so in instances where the Steam Controller is the only one at fault, it does make that asking price seem a little steeper.

Valve Just Raised The Price Of The Steam Deck By Hundreds Of Dollars🖥 Steam Deck, PC, Multi-platform

Valve Just Raised The Price Of The Steam Deck By Hundreds Of Dollars

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2023/11/09/835b4715/steamdeckoledbuttons.jpg.webp) If you don't already own a Steam Deck, but do want one, I have some bad news for you: Valve just raised the price(https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck) by hundreds of dollars. While the LCD version of the Deck has been discontinued (but is still great and available second-hand), the OLED 512GB and 1TB versions are now back in stock, but with increased prices that "reflect the current state of component costs and other global logistical challenges across the industry as a whole," Valve has announced. The 512GB OLED Deck will now cost $789, up from $549, and the 1TB OLED Deck will now cost $949, up from $649 – that's a $240 and $300 price jump, respectively. That makes yesterday the best time to buy a Steam Deck because these new prices are in effect immediately. While unfortunate for would-be buyers, this price jump isn't all that surprising. Valve joins PlayStation(https://gameinformer.com/2026/03/27/sony-announces-playstation-5-and-portal-price-increases-coming-next-week), Xbox(https://gameinformer.com/2025/05/01/xbox-console-and-accessory-price-increases-begin-today-80-first-party-games-starting), and Nintendo(https://gameinformer.com/2026/05/08/the-switch-2-is-getting-a-price-increase) in raising hardware prices in response to current logistics-related computing costs. RAM, in particular, is especially hard to come by these days as AI companies buy it up in bulk to power data centers and more, and it doesn't help that the U.S. President has enacted tariffs that affect countries worldwide, including America, when it comes to costs. This does not inspire confidence in Valve's plans to release the console-like Steam Machine this year(https://gameinformer.com/2025/11/12/valve-announces-console-like-steam-machine-steam-frame-vr-headset-and-new-steam), despite launching the Steam Controller(https://gameinformer.com/2026/05/07/after-a-chaotic-launch-steam-controller-reservations-will-open-tomorrow) earlier this month (which it was able to do because the controller does not use RAM, a high-demand, low-supply component that things like the Steam Deck and Steam Machine need). While waiting for the world to get better, read Game Informer's Steam Deck review(https://gameinformer.com/hardware/2022/02/25/the-steam-deck-review), and then check out our list of the top 10 Steam Deck games(https://gameinformer.com/2025/05/09/the-top-10-steam-deck-games) after that.
