The download code can be used on one of three possible titles: Mario Kart World(https://www.amazon.com/Mario-KartTM-World-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0F66GQLHH/ref=sr11?tag=gamespot-promos-20), Donkey Kong Bananza(https://www.amazon.com/Donkey-Kong-Bananza-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0F66KLYVH/ref=sr11?tag=gamespot-promos-20), or Pokemon Pokopia(https://www.amazon.com/Pok%C3%A9mon-Pokopia-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0G1VH7HZ1/ref=sr11?tag=gamespot-promos-20). When purchased separately, Mario Kart World(https://www.amazon.com/Mario-KartTM-World-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0F66GQLHH/ref=sr11??tag=gamespot-promos-20) retails for $80, while Donkey Kong Bananza(https://www.amazon.com/Donkey-Kong-Bananza-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0F66KLYVH/ref=sr11?tag=gamespot-promos-20) and Pokemon Pokopia(https://www.amazon.com/Pok%C3%A9mon-Pokopia-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0G1VH7HZ1/ref=sr11?tag=gamespot-promos-20) both retail for $70. At the Switch 2's current $450 price tag, that saves shoppers at least $20-$30 depending on which game you buy. Once the price hike goes into effect, then you're essentially getting one of those full-priced digital games for free. If you've been looking forward to buying it, good news: the bundle is available to preorder now at Best Buy(https://bestbuy.7tiv.net/c/1804712/614286/10014?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fproduct%2Fswitch-2-choose-your-game-bundle-nintendo-switch-2%2FJ7GSL57WQR), GameStop(https://click.linksynergy.com/deeplink?id=VZfI20jEa0c&mid=24348&murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamestop.com%2Fconsoles-hardware%2Fnintendo-switch-2%2Fproducts%2Fnintendo-switch-2-choose-your-game-bundle%2F20035211.html), and Nintendo(https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/nintendo-switch-2-choose-bundle-128060/). Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle $500 | Launches June 7, 2026 !4697657-128060-nintendo-switch-choose-one-bundle-us-3001×2719(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/4697657-128060-nintendo-switch-choose-one-bundle-us-3001x2719-1.jpg?w=900) As mentioned above, this new bundle includes the Switch 2 console, Switch 2 dock, a set of Joycon 2 controllers, and all the necessary components to hook the device up to your TV. You also get a voucher code that lets you pick one of three digital edition games from the Nintendo eShop: - Mario Kart World (normally $80) - Donkey Kong Bananza (normally $70) - Pokemon Pokopia (normally $70) There is only one voucher per console, and you can only use the voucher once. However, once you've redeemed the game, it's added to your library permanently and you'll be able to download and play whenever you want. You can also share the downloaded game to other Switch 2 devices you own or those on your NSO family plan via the Swtich 2's Virtual Game Card system. Note that you'll have to download the full game to your Switch 2 before you can start playing, which can take a while depending on the file size and the strength of your internet connection. Luckily, the Switch 2 ships with 256 GB of internal storage, which is more than enough to download and install any of the games on offer. It can also be expanded using a microSD Express card(https://www.amazon.com/s?k=micro+sd+xpress+switch+2&crid=2Y2YHXLDIDKGK&sprefix=microSD+xpre%2Caps%2C204&linkCode=ll2&tag=gamespot-dealsnewsletter2-20&linkId=b352a4be7b8dd812029d590d2a83ab46&language=enUS&ref=aslisstl). Here's the data footprint of each of the three games you can pick, in case you're curious: - Mario Kart World: 22 GB - Donkey Kong Bananza: 9 GB - Pokemon Pokopia: 6.2 GB If the games in this bundle don't appeal to you and you just want to grab a Switch 2 at the lowest possible price, you can do that at most major retailers for $449. As long as you get your order in before September 1, you'll still get the old price before the increase(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-increased-the-switch-2-price-to-500-and-it-still-isnt-enough/1100-6539893/). While Nintendo may not reduce the cost of its first-party games very often, you still have floods of excellent indies to choose from via the eShop and the many physical edition games available for the system. !4693790-square-image(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/4693790-square-image.jpg?w=300) Nintendo Switch 2 $449 See at Amazon(https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-2-System/dp/B0F3GWXLTS/ref=sr12?tag=gamespot-promos-20 "See at Amazon") View at other stores See at Best Buy(https://clicks.trx-hub.com/xid/fandom32094gamespot?q=https%3A%2F%2Fbestbuy.7tiv.net%2Fc%2F1804712%2F614286%2F10014%3Fu%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.bestbuy.com%252Fproduct%252Fswitch-2-system-nintendo-switch-2%252FJ7GSL57TGH%252Fsku%252F6614313&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamespot.com%2Ffeeds%2Fnews&articleid=1761178&eventtype=click&fntitle=Preorders+For+Nintendo%26%238217%3Bs+New+%26%238216%3BChoose+Your+Game+Bundle%26%238217%3B+Are+Now+Open&fnauthor=brendanhesse&fndate=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A39&fnupdated=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A52&fnarticleid=1761178&fncategory=Deals%7CGaming%7CNews&fnstorytype=Preorder+Guide "See at Best Buy") See at Walmart(https://clicks.trx-hub.com/xid/fandom32094gamespot?q=https%3A%2F%2Fgoto.walmart.com%2Fc%2F1804712%2F565706%2F9383%3Fveh%3Daff%26sourceid%3Dimp000011112222333344%26u%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.walmart.com%252Fip%252FNintendo-Switch-2-System%252F15949610846%253FclassType%253DVARIANT%2526athbdg%253DL1200%2526from%253D%252Fsearch&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamespot.com%2Ffeeds%2Fnews&articleid=1761178&eventtype=click&fntitle=Preorders+For+Nintendo%26%238217%3Bs+New+%26%238216%3BChoose+Your+Game+Bundle%26%238217%3B+Are+Now+Open&fnauthor=brendanhesse&fndate=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A39&fnupdated=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A52&fnarticleid=1761178&fncategory=Deals%7CGaming%7CNews&fnstorytype=Preorder+Guide "See at Walmart") See at Target(https://clicks.trx-hub.com/xid/fandom32094gamespot?q=https%3A%2F%2Fgoto.target.com%2Fc%2F1804712%2F81938%2F2092%3FsubId1%3D--%26u%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.target.com%252Fp%252Fnintendo-switch-2-console%252F-%252FA-94693225&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamespot.com%2Ffeeds%2Fnews&articleid=1761178&eventtype=click&fntitle=Preorders+For+Nintendo%26%238217%3Bs+New+%26%238216%3BChoose+Your+Game+Bundle%26%238217%3B+Are+Now+Open&fnauthor=brendanhesse&fndate=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A39&fnupdated=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A52&fnarticleid=1761178&fncategory=Deals%7CGaming%7CNews&fnstorytype=Preorder+Guide "See at Target") See at GameStop(https://clicks.trx-hub.com/xid/fandom32094gamespot?q=https%3A%2F%2Fclick.linksynergy.com%2Fdeeplink%3Fid%3DVZfI20jEa0c%26mid%3D24348%26murl%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.gamestop.com%252Fconsoles-hardware%252Fnintendo-switch-2%252Fproducts%252Fnintendo-switch-2%252F424543.html&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamespot.com%2Ffeeds%2Fnews&articleid=1761178&eventtype=click&fntitle=Preorders+For+Nintendo%26%238217%3Bs+New+%26%238216%3BChoose+Your+Game+Bundle%26%238217%3B+Are+Now+Open&fnauthor=brendanhesse&fndate=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A39&fnupdated=2026-05-18+14%3A54%3A52&fnarticleid=1761178&fncategory=Deals%7CGaming%7CNews&fnstorytype=Preorder+Guide "See at GameStop") More Gaming, Tech, and Entertainment Deals & Preorders

Nintendo Is Beating EA At Its Own (Cozy) Game🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Nintendo Is Beating EA At Its Own (Cozy) Game

Since their introduction in 2006, I've largely viewed Miis as creepy little things. Sure, some of them are cute--anytime I buy a new Nintendo console, I spend a few minutes attempting to make my Mii a bit less offputting--but I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a growing sense of dread in the pit of my stomach the first time I fired up my Wii U and saw them all run toward the screen en masse: a tiny stampede of ever-smiling, soulless bobbleheads. I silently judged fellow Animal Crossing: New Leaf(https://www.gamespot.com/games/animal-crossing-new-leaf/) players who chose to import their Mii's face rather than use the game's default settings to create a slightly less-cursed look for their player character. If, a few weeks ago, you'd asked me my opinion on Miis, I'd have probably responded that they occupy the same spot in my heart as those freaky little Bitmoji avatars people plaster all over Snapchat. But after sinking over 50 hours into Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream(https://www.gamespot.com/games/tomodachi-life-living-the-dream/), my feelings have done a total 180. I'll admit it: I love Miis. Not just because they've gotten cuter (though they have). Not just because there are more Mii customization options available than ever before (though there are). I love them because in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, Miis feel alive--far more alive than the characters I create in The Sims 4(https://www.gamespot.com/games/the-sims-4/) ever have. The customization was what first hooked me. Whereas The Sims 4 only has 24 hair-color options--something I've been baffled by for years--Tomodachi Life has 100 shades to choose from, all of which can be used for Miis' hair, skin, and eyes. Want a four-eyed Hearthian(https://www.reddit.com/r/outerwilds/comments/1sqvwrp/saididmakefeldspartoointomodachilifeso/) à la Outer Wilds(https://www.gamespot.com/games/outer-wilds/)? You got it. Want to create Adventure Time's Princess Bubblegum? Easy-peasy. Players can even choose a secondary hair color for an ombré or highlighted look, and bangs can be styled separately from the rest of a Mii's hair. The game's custom face-paint option allows for infinite possibilities only limited by the player's imagination and artistic skill. Nintendo eShop Continues Its War Against Quality With This Dead Space And Gears Of War Knockoff🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Nintendo eShop Continues Its War Against Quality With This Dead Space And Gears Of War Knockoff

One of the biggest problems with the Switch 2 isn't availability or a looming price hike(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-increased-the-switch-2-price-to-500-and-it-still-isnt-enough/1100-6539893/), but the platform's online marketplace. What should be a highlight reel of Nintendo exclusives, outstanding third-party titles, and rising indie stars is instead an eShop full of slop drops, and Dead Gears: Space of War is indicative of this problem. Scheduled to launch on May 29, the game's key art combines an on-the-nose use of the Cog symbol from Gears of War with the font of Dead Space, all positioned above what is likely an AI-generated image. The game's trailer doesn't inspire much confidence either, as what should be a sizzle reel for Dead Gears: Space of War is instead a by-the-numbers gameplay teaser that has nothing in common with the art assets being used to promote this release. Not exactly surprising, given that publisher Consann Real Estate has in the past released numerous "Simulator" games and Fall Buddies--which probably has nothing to do with Fall Guys. Probably! !No Caption Provided(https://www.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/1601/16018044/4696654-dead-gears-space-of-war.jpg)(https://www.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/1601/16018044/4696654-dead-gears-space-of-war.jpg) So what's going on here? Despite its efforts to keep slop to a minimum, the Nintendo eShop is more infested than ever before with games that range from low-effort asset flips to clones attempting to piggyback on the momentum set by popular games and franchises. While the eShop Highlights section is fairly safe to browse, once you scroll down to the other sections of the marketplace, it quickly becomes a slop-free-for-all when you start browsing. There’s Still Time To Preorder These Upcoming Switch 2 Games – The Best Nintendo Deals This Week (May 14, 2026)🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

There’s Still Time To Preorder These Upcoming Switch 2 Games – The Best Nintendo Deals This Week (May 14, 2026)

This week is a great one for Nintendo Switch deals, as you'll find a long list of both games and accessories available at a discount. What's most exciting, however, is that physical preorders for both Star Fox(https://www.amazon.com/Star-FoxTM-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0GZSLD685?tag=gamespot-preorders-20) and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book(https://www.amazon.com/YoshiTM-Mysterious-Book-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0GTWSJ5BW?tag=gamespot-preorders-20) are $10 off at Amazon. There's also a slight price cut on Nintendo eShop Gift Card(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZNGPY3?tag=gamespot-promos-20), giving you a chance to save a few bucks on your next digital purchase. Several popular Hori controllers are on sale at Target(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/save-up-to-25-off-horis-switch-2-controllers-and-accessories-at-target/1100-6539913/)--so if you need a new gamepad that won't break the bank, you'll find some great deals to peruse. Console price cuts are still elusive, but since Nintendo is increasing the price of Switch 2 by $50 in September, now is a good time to cash in on these current prices. Here's a closer look at the best Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2 deals this week, covering games, consoles, controllers, and more. Nintendo Game Deals !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4695759-mixcollage-14-may-2026-09-00-am-1191.jpg) If you're preordering Star Fox(https://www.amazon.com/Star-FoxTM-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0GZSLD685?tag=gamespot-preorders-20), be sure to do so at Amazon(https://www.amazon.com/Star-FoxTM-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0GZSLD685?tag=gamespot-preorders-20). The physical version is discounted by $10 ahead of its June 25 release. For more info on the game, check out our comprehensive Star Fox preorder guide(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/star-fox-buying-guide/1100-6539831/). The same goes for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book(https://www.amazon.com/YoshiTM-Mysterious-Book-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0GTWSJ5BW?tag=gamespot-preorders-20), with the physical version just $60 (was $70) at Amazon ahead of its May 21 launch. Beyond preorders, several great Switch 2 games are currently matching their lowest prices ever. The cheapest of the bunch is Yakuza 0: Director's Cut(https://www.amazon.com/Yakuza-Directors-Cut-Nintendo-Switch-2/dp/B0F65ZBSXY?tag=gamespot-promos-20), which is just $25 (was $50). Along with better performance, this new edition of the classic game offers an enhanced save system, an online multiplayer mode, and around 30 minutes of new cutscenes that help fill in additional plotlines. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer, the game is certainly enticing at this new price. This week you can also snag Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade(https://www.amazon.com/FINAL-FANTASY-VII-REMAKE-INTERGRADE-Nintendo/dp/B0FR6937TP?tag=gamespot-promos-20) for $30 (was $40). Along with offering the first slice of the original game, this edition includes a new story featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. Our original Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade review(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/final-fantasy-7-remake-intergrade-review-materia-improvements/1900-6417445/) from 2021 gave it a stellar 10/10, thanks to its thrilling combat system, memorable characters, and a bold new depiction of Midgar that breathes new life into the iconic destination. Not to be outdone by Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined(https://www.amazon.com/DRAGON-QUEST-VII-Reimagined-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B0FQWNGY9F?tag=gamespot-promos-20) is also listed at its lowest price ever. It's just $50 (was $60) at Amazon, and its adorable art style alone should win over long-time fans of the series. The big news with this remaster is all the quality of life improvements, as combat has been updated, there's a new auto-battler feature to blast through minor encounters more easily, and new vocational perks mean there's plenty of new strategies for you to master. Over on Switch, there are a handful of enticing deals. This includes Pokemon Legends: Z-A(https://redirect.viglink.com/?key=fbff19622bfc4d759c94ca50d964e98d&u=https%3A%2F%2Felectronics.woot.com%2Foffers%2Fpokmon-legends-z-a-4%3Fcjdata%3DMXxOfDB8WXww%26ref%3Dwcntwp017%26utmmedium%3Daffiliate%26utmcampaign%3DCJ%26cjevent%3Da04c0bc544a511f18033000d0a1eba37%26utmsource%3DFandom%2C%2BInc.%26utmterm%3Da04c0bc544a511f18033000d0a1eba37) for $45 (was $60), Super Mario RPG(https://www.amazon.com/Super-Mario-RPG-Nintendo-Switch-Version/dp/B0C8VKNJ1B?tag=gamespot-promos-20) for $34.73 (was $60), and Sonic Origins Plus(https://www.amazon.com/Sonic-Origins-Plus-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B0BZFGSY5W?tag=gamespot-promos-20) for $25 (was $40). eShop Gift Card - Boasting flashy designs and unlocking a few in-game cosmetics, Street Fighter fans should definitely give them a look. Need a carrying case for your console? The PowerA Slim Case for Switch 2 (Metroid Prime 4)(https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Slim-Nintendo-Switch-Built-2/dp/B0FR9V7QWR?tag=gamespot-promos-20) is on sale for $14.49 (was $20). Along with colorful Metroid-inspired graphics on the outside, the inside features a padded sleeve to protect your console screen, plus a compartment that holds up to 10 games. There's even a playstand built into the case lining--so you can prop up your console and play in tabletop mode while on the go. For something streamlined and minimalist, the Tomtoc Switch 2 Slim Carrying Case(https://www.amazon.com/Carrying-Nintendo-Odorless-Protective-Portable-Protection/dp/B0DT48LYLP?tag=gamespot-promos-20) is $29.59 (was $37). Despite its small size, it can still hold up to 12 games, is water-resistant, and includes shock-absorbing cushions that provide extra protection to the L/R buttons. A bunch of controllers are on sale, too. One of the cheapest options is the PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller (Mario and Friends)(https://redirect.viglink.com/?key=fbff19622bfc4d759c94ca50d964e98d&u=https%3A%2F%2Felectronics.woot.com%2Foffers%2Fpowera-advantage-wireless-controller-switch-2z-1%3Fcjdata%3DMXxOfDB8WXww%26ref%3Dwcntwp051%26utmmedium%3Daffiliate%26utmcampaign%3DCJ%26cjevent%3D4d8c681f44a111f1803300080a1eba37%26utmsource%3DFandom%2C%2BInc.%26utmterm%3D4d8c681f44a111f1803300080a1eba37) for $35 (was $70), though you'll also find the premium 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller(https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Controller-Joysticks-Switchable-Gaming-Console/dp/B0F194QFT2?tag=gamespot-promos-20) with a $12 discount. The latter comes with an included charging dock, so it's easy to stay juiced up for your next gaming session. We're also big fans of the PDP Afterglow Wave Wireless Controller(https://www.amazon.com/Afterglow-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo-Gaming-Console/dp/B0D1KXVKDP?tag=gamespot-promos-20). This is slightly cheaper than it was a few weeks ago at $39 (was $60), and because it features a bunch of cool RGB lights, it's a colorful addition to any game room. Given that info, your mileage may vary. The same is true for the $100 Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary Gift Card, which comes bundled with a collectible case (but does not appear on Target's online storefront). Consider venturing out to your local brick-and-mortar to see if any are still in stock. It's just $10 and looks like a cool bit of decor for your game room or home theater. This one is listed online, though we're unsure how long it'll remain in stock. - Target's Mario Poster(https://howl.link/ncndt77yoxa12?articlename=Gamespot&articleurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamespot.com%2F17755700723353) -- Free with select Mario video games - Super Mario Popcorn Tin with Lid(https://howl.link/1fg8la9g22x9n?articlename=Gamespot&articleurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamespot.com%2F17755721774565) -- $10 --- Mario Galaxy Movie Preorders !4678883-4676644-mario-2.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1701/17013431/4678883-4676644-mario-2.jpg) Even though it just hit theaters, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie preorders(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-super-mario-galaxy-movie-buying-guide/1100-6539173/) are already live. Kylie Jenner Calls The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'One Of The Best Games Ever'🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Kylie Jenner Calls The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'One Of The Best Games Ever'

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2018/06/07/30b43152/botwart.jpg.webp) Kylie Jenner, the billionaire Kardashian sister behind Kylie Cosmetics, apparently has time for Nintendo Switch gaming when she's not filming reality TV, running a makeup business, or attending awards shows and basketball games with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet (who is also a gamer). But when The Legend of Zelda gets its hooks in you, what are you to do? In the latest episode of Therapuss, a mock-therapy talk show on Netflix hosted by influencer/media personality Jake Shane, Jenner says Zelda is "one of the best games ever." Though she doesn't specifically name The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild(https://gameinformer.com/product/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild), which launched with the Switch back in 2017, the details she provides make clear that's the adventure she's playing through. You can watch a clip of this discussion here(https://x.com/netflix/status/2054743503595340021?s=20). She describes to Shane, who is seemingly unfamiliar with the series, that you play as Link, 100 years after a war, and take on Divine Beast dungeons, fight Ganondorf, and explore Hyrule while attempting to save Princess Zelda. While explaining it, Jenner laughs and jokes she's "going to sound like such a nerd" (you're in good company, Kylie), but she also says she's still kind of new to the game – she's completed one Divine Beast dungeon and is en route to a second now, apparently. "It's the most intricate – I've played for days and hours," Jenner tells Shane. Excellent taste, Jenner. Make sure you play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom after you finish BOTW! She's not alone in Hollywood, either – Sally Field loves BOTW too(https://filmstories.co.uk/news/sally-field-loves-the-legend-of-zelda/)! Speaking of, in case you haven't for some reason, read Game Informer's reviews for Breath of the Wild(https://gameinformer.com/games/thelegendofzeldabreathofthewild/b/switch/archive/2017/03/02/game-informer-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-switch-review.aspx) and Tears of the Kingdom(https://gameinformer.com/review/the-legend-of-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom/such-great-heights). After that, read Game Informer's exclusive Zelda 40th Anniversary feature,(https://gameinformer.com/feature/2026/04/07/40-years-of-zeldas-legend) where we spoke to dozens of developers around the industry about the impact the Nintendo series has had on their lives. Which game do you think is better: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom? Let us know in the comments below!

In the recording, we can see the entire orchestra performing the main theme featured in the reveal trailer for Pokémon Winds and Waves(https://gameinformer.com/pokemon-presents/2026/02/27/pokemon-winds-and-waves-is-arriving-next-year), which The Pokémon Company revealed back in February. We still have a ways to go before Pokémon Winds and Waves, which is set to launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2027, but this recording is a fun look at the orchestral work that goes into recording a new main theme for the next generation of Pokémon. Deadzone Rogue 2, Follow-Up To Excellent Roguelite FPS, Announced🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Deadzone Rogue 2, Follow-Up To Excellent Roguelite FPS, Announced

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/12/ec1c82d0/dzrh.jpg.webp) Deadzone: Rogue was a game that slipped past our collective radars, but once we finally played it upon its Switch 2 release, we absolutely loved it, awarding it a 9 out of 10(https://gameinformer.com/review/deadzone-rogue/rewarding-repetition). Now, quicker than most expected, developer Prophecy Games has announced a sequel to its roguelite FPS, Deadzone Rogue 2. In Deadzone Rogue 2, you fight as Talon 13-10 on a fallen Earth. While the core gameplay sounds familiar to anyone who played the first game – you work through runs of each area, forging your loadout as you blast through hordes of enemies – it iterates in seemingly important ways. In addition to extended play progression with new abilities, weapons, and run modifiers, players can expect new biomes, layouts, enemies, and bosses to deal with. On top of that, drop-in co-op joins the formula, allowing for more flexible cooperative play for up to three players. While we don't know too much more about this sequel, we know we can't wait to see how Prophecy Games is improving on the already-excellent foundation of the franchise. And with details on a pre-release demo promised in June, we hope we'll have that chance sooner rather than later. For more on why we loved Deadzone: Rogue so much, check out our review(https://gameinformer.com/review/deadzone-rogue/rewarding-repetition). !(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/05/12/ed433327/screenshot5.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/05/12/e53cf95f/screenshot2.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/05/12/b9db25be/screenshot4.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/05/12/1d2b601c/screenshot6.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/05/12/c6d251cb/screenshot3.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/05/12/6dbee25b/screenshot1.jpg.webp)

Nintendo Increased The Switch 2 Price to $500, And It Still Isn't Enough🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Nintendo Increased The Switch 2 Price to $500, And It Still Isn't Enough

It's official: Switch 2 consoles are going to become $50 more expensive(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-nintendo-switch-2-is-officially-getting-a-price-hike-in-september/1100-6539854/) as of September. Even with the price hike, Nintendo says the new MSRP still won't cover all the costs involved in producing a Switch 2. "We sincerely apologize to our customers for the considerable inconvenience and trouble this will cause," Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said during the company's recent financial results presentation (via a Nintendo Patents Watch translation(https://bsky.app/profile/ninpatentswatch.bsky.social/post/3mlewl3kwm224)). "While we wanted to prioritize a wide adoption, it was challenging to bear the rising costs over a long period. The new pricing does not fully account for all cost increases." Like almost all hardware in 2026, Nintendo is facing a perfect storm of conditions that has forced its hand. The ongoing shortage of crucial components, a weaker yen, and rising oil prices have all contributed toward making tech more expensive. Furukawa added that the higher price may create an additional barrier to entry, but Nintendo is confident that a "robust software line-up" will help "enhance the Switch 2 ownership value" for consumers. Once September arrives, a Switch 2 will increase from $450 to $500 in the US.
