There’s Still Time To Preorder These Upcoming Switch 2 Games – The Best Nintendo Deals This Week (May 14, 2026)

This week is a great one for Nintendo Switch deals, as you'll find a long list of both games and accessories available at a discount. What's most exciting, however, is that physical preorders for both Star Fox and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book are $10 off at Amazon. There's also a slight price cut on Nintendo eShop Gift Card, giving you a chance to save a few bucks on your next digital purchase.

Several popular Hori controllers are on sale at Target--so if you need a new gamepad that won't break the bank, you'll find some great deals to peruse. Console price cuts are still elusive, but since Nintendo is increasing the price of Switch 2 by $50 in September, now is a good time to cash in on these current prices.

Here's a closer look at the best Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2 deals this week, covering games, consoles, controllers, and more.

Nintendo Game Deals

If you're preordering Star Fox, be sure to do so at Amazon. The physical version is discounted by $10 ahead of its June 25 release. The same goes for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, with the physical version just $60 (was $70) at Amazon ahead of its May 21 launch.

Beyond preorders, several great Switch 2 games are currently matching their lowest prices ever. The cheapest of the bunch is Yakuza 0: Director's Cut, which is just $25 (was $50). Along with better performance, this new edition of the classic game offers an enhanced save system, an online multiplayer mode, and around 30 minutes of new cutscenes that help fill in additional plotlines. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer, the game is certainly enticing at this new price.

This week you can also snag Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade for $30 (was $40). Along with offering the first slice of the original game, this edition includes a new story featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. Our original Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade review from 2021 gave it a stellar 10/10, thanks to its thrilling combat system, memorable characters, and a bold new depiction of Midgar that breathes new life into the iconic destination.

Not to be outdone by Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is also listed at its lowest price ever. It's just $50 (was $60) at Amazon, and its adorable art style alone should win over long-time fans of the series. The big news with this remaster is all the quality of life improvements, as combat has been updated, there's a new auto-battler feature to blast through minor encounters more easily, and new vocational perks mean there's plenty of new strategies for you to master.

Over on Switch, there are a handful of enticing deals. This includes Pokemon Legends: Z-A for $45 (was $60), Super Mario RPG for $34.73 (was $60), and Sonic Origins Plus for $25 (was $40).

Best Switch Accessory Deals

Those Luke and Jamie Amiibo deals refuse to get knocked out--after a brief price increase, they've been discounted to just $8 (was $40) for weeks. Boasting flashy designs and unlocking a few in-game cosmetics, Street Fighter fans should definitely give them a look.

Need a carrying case for your console? The PowerA Slim Case for Switch 2 (Metroid Prime 4) is on sale for $14.49 (was $20). Along with colorful Metroid-inspired graphics on the outside, the inside features a padded sleeve to protect your console screen, plus a compartment that holds up to 10 games. There's even a playstand built into the case lining--so you can prop up your console and play in tabletop mode while on the go. For something streamlined and minimalist, the Tomtoc Switch 2 Slim Carrying Case is $29.59 (was $37). Despite its small size, it can still hold up to 12 games, is water-resistant, and includes shock-absorbing cushions that provide extra protection to the L/R buttons.

A bunch of controllers are on sale, too. One of the cheapest options is the PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller (Mario and Friends) for $35 (was $70), though you'll also find the premium 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller with a $12 discount. The latter comes with an included charging dock, so it's easy to stay juiced up for your next gaming session. We're also big fans of the PDP Afterglow Wave Wireless Controller. This is slightly cheaper than it was a few weeks ago at $39 (was $60), and because it features a bunch of cool RGB lights, it's a colorful addition to any game room.

Several Hori Switch 2 controllers and accessories are also on sale at Target. Mario 40th Anniversary Deals

Super Mario Bros. officially celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, and now a bunch of related merch, games, and other gear are on sale. These have been lingering around for a few weeks, and there's no indication as to when they'll end.

Mario Deals at Best Buy

At Best Buy, you can get a Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary Collectible Game Case when you buy two select Mario titles. Just add two games from a selection that includes Super Mario Bros Wonder, Mario Tennis Fever, and Mario Kart World, among others, and the collectible game case will be added to your cart automatically.

Mario Deals at Target

At Target earlier this month, you could get a free poster when purchasing any Mario game. However, it's not entirely clear if this promo is still available--while it was listed in Target's Weekly Ad in early April, we're not seeing anything listed on Target's actual storefront. Given that info, your mileage may vary. The same is true for the $100 Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary Gift Card, which comes bundled with a collectible case (but does not appear on Target's online storefront). Consider venturing out to your local brick-and-mortar to see if any are still in stock.

While the above items may have disappeared, Target's exclusive Super Mario Popcorn Tin with Lid is still available. It's just $10 and looks like a cool bit of decor for your game room or home theater. This one is listed online, though we're unsure how long it'll remain in stock.

Mario Galaxy Movie Preorders

Even though it just hit theaters, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie preorders are already live. These come in a wide range of styles like a Walmart exclusive tin, a limited-edition steelbook, and more. There's also a nice two-movie collection that pulls together The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (it's just $50 on 4K Blu-ray). Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch Console Deals

Nintendo is increasing the price of the Switch 2 to $500 in September, a bump of $50. So if you're in the market for the new-gen console, consider making a purchase before then. There are currently no actual Switch 2 discounts, but you can still find Switch 2 for $449 at retailers like Amazon.

As for the original Switch hardware, GameStop is offering a great deal on the Switch Lite (Gray), as you can pick it up for $190 (was $230). A refurbished Switch OLED Model is also quite cheap at Best Buy, where it's listed at $280 (was $400). Switch console deals are hard to come by, so expect to pay full price for both the Switch and Switch 2 for the foreseeable future.
