Minecraft Is Finally Coming To Switch 2, With A Huge Improvement

Today, Nintendo announced that Minecraft will be coming to Switch 2 in 2026, with improvements over its Switch 1 counterpart. The Switch 2 supports backwards compatibility, so Minecraft has been playable on the console since launch. However, the Switch 2 version brings enhanced lighting and shadow effects, meaning owners of the newest console will have an improved experience. https://youtu.be/pBL7nJLH8ro The game was rated for Switch 2 on the ESRB classification database in recent weeks, leading many to believe a Switch 2 version was on its way. The motto is: Always trust the ESRB ratings. There's good news for Switch 1 owners wanting to play on the Switch 2 too, as the Nintendo Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-direct-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/) announcement confirmed that your progression can be transferred across consoles and versions. There's no firm release date for the Switch 2 version of Minecraft, although it is confirmed to be available before the end of 2026.

Kingdom Hearts 4 Gets A Surprise Look At Nintendo Direct 2026

After announcing that three collections of Kingdom Hearts games are coming to Switch 2, the June 2026 Nintendo Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-direct-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/) revealed a fresh look at the elusive Kingdom Hearts 4--which will be available on Nintendo's console when it launches. Granted, we still don't have any idea when Kingdom Hearts 4 is out, as the new trailer lacked a release window of any sort. But the video, about a minute and a half long, contains glimpses of Sora, Strelitzia (yes, from the mobile game), and other faces new to Sora in the mysterious, Shibuya-like city of Quadratum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIpQz9zQS0 The trailer begins with a cloaked figure (who could be one of several characters in the franchise, quite frankly) before cutting to Sora in an epic fight against what looks like a kaiju-sized Pureblood Heartless. Other characters appear in the trailer, including a mask-wearing character who might be Vali from the mobile game Dark Road, and Organization XIII member Luxord, who's sporting a fancy suit. It also looks like young Xehanort is holding an umbrella for Sora--his appearance would be strange, seeing how Kingdom Hearts 3 was meant to wrap up Xehanort's story. And of course, Donald and Goofy are around, but they don't appear alongside Sora in this trailer. Presumably, this game leaves off on the cliffhanger of Kingdom Hearts 3, with the rest of the cast searching for Sora, who faded away at the end of that game as a result of saving Kairi. Besides Donald and Goofy, the trailer is lacking any Disney elements (or any Final Fantasy elements either(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/kingdom-hearts-4-director-talks-about-the-lack-of-final-fantasy-characters-in-the-series/1100-6504624/)), instead showing Sora wielding his keyblade in combat against baddies on city streets and office buildings. All in all, there's nothing really new in this trailer that we didn't see when Kingdom Hearts 4 was revealed over four years ago(https://www.gamespot.com/videos/kingdom-hearts-4-reveal-and-kingdom-hearts-20th-anniversary-celebration-trailer/2300-6457907/), but at least Switch 2 owners can rest easy knowing they'll be able to experience the madness too whenever it comes out.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Remake Of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Drops In 2026🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

The Nintendo Switch 2 Remake Of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Drops In 2026

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/09/3a228e8a/zelda02.jpg.webp) After years of rumors, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is officially officially getting a remake for Nintendo Switch 2 and it is coming in 2026, sometime later this year. Ocarina of Time was originally released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64. The game was a critical and commercial success and is often cited as one the best reviewed games of all time, so the fervor for a remake is not unexpected. The new trailer is minimal, beginning with a voice over from an unknown narrator giving a rundown on the Kokiri, who Link lives amongst at the start of the game. Each child has a fairy, but there's one boy who doesn't have a fairy of his own. The trailer then fades to a young, sleeping Link, who you can see in the image below. He stirs in his sleep, a Triforce symbol glows on his hand, and a modern logo for Ocarina of Time appears on the screen. Despite not seeing much more than that, the game is due to launch in 2026. This, of course, is not the first time Ocarina of Time has been re-released following its initial launch. Ahead of the release of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in 2002, Nintendo offered reservation customers a pair of GameCube discs that contained a port of Ocarina of Time as well as the not-released-in-North America Master Quest, which rearranged the puzzles in Ocarina of Time. There was also The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, a GameCube game compilation that included The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Ocarina of time, Majora's Mask, and a demo for Wind Waker. Ocarina of Time was also made available on the Wii and Wii U Virtual Consoles, and the game is currently available for Switch and Switch 2 as part of the Nintendo Online subscription service. !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/08/2e2c748b/zeldaocarina.jpg.webp) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (2011) The game has been ported to nearly every Nintendo platform since its original release, but this will actually be the second time Ocarina of Time has been fully remade. In 2011, Ocarina of Time was rebuilt for the 3DS with updated visuals, motion controls, and stereoscopic 3D visuals by developer Grezzo. That version of the game also included Master Quest. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on 2026. Deltarune Chapter 5 Revealed, And It’s Out Very Soon🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Deltarune Chapter 5 Revealed, And It’s Out Very Soon

During today's Nintendo Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-direct-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/), a new chapter for episodic RPG Deltarune has been announced, and it's out later this month. The follow-up from Toby Fox originally had its first chapter released for free in 2018 on PC, before the game officially went on sale for multiple platforms--and as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title--which included the first four chapters. Deltarune Chapter 5 will release on June 24, and will be available as a free update on all platforms if you already own the game. Fans who completed Chapter 4 would have noticed after the credits that Chapter 5 was confirmed for 2026. Its arrival a year later means the shortest wait for a new Deltarune chapter so far. According to the game's menu screen, Deltarune is expected to consist of seven chapters, though it's not yet confirmed when these will release. As with Chapter 5, these will also be made available as free updates on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.

Kingdom Hearts IV Gameplay Trailer Revealed, Will Launch Simultaneously On Consoles And PC

!Kingdom Hearts IV(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/09/155adcf5/kh404.jpg.webp) The last time we got a trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV was in 2022(https://www.gameinformer.com/2022/04/10/kingdom-hearts-4-revealed-in-20th-anniversary-trailer). In the years since, fans have been clamoring for more information about the highly anticipated sequel, poring through screenshots(https://www.gameinformer.com/2025/05/14/kingdom-hearts-iv-development-update-new-screenshots-released-by-square-enix) and more for any glimmer of new details. Perhaps surprising everyone, Kingdom Hearts IV appeared during today's Nintendo Direct with a new gameplay trailer that also revealed it will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Unfortunately, this trailer didn't say when that launch will be, so the wait continues. But this new trailer has plenty to look at, including gameplay in modern-day Tokyo, featuring a new look at the game's action combat in Shibuya. In it, we see a more realistic take on Sora fighting off Heartless in the city, and it looks awesome. Check out the new Kingdom Hearts IV teaser trailer for yourself below: Kingdom Hearts IV is currently in development and set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. While the Nintendo Direct version of the trailer didn't reveal these additional platforms the game is in development for, the teaser trailer posted on the official Square Enix YouTube channel (the one we've linked above) does, indicating a simultaneous launch. In the meantime, check out the Kingdom Hearts IV reveal trailer(https://www.gameinformer.com/2022/04/10/kingdom-hearts-4-revealed-in-20th-anniversary-trailer).

Nintendo Finally Reveals The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake For 2026

Nintendo has officially revealed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time(https://www.gamespot.com/games/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time/) remake as part of its summer Nintendo Direct showcase(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-direct-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/). The reveal showed no gameplay--only a cinematic trailer about the boy from the forest who didn't have a fairy. It did, however, confirm a 2026 release date. More details are said to be coming later this year. Rumors of an Ocarina of Time remake began to gather steam earlier this year when prominent leaker Nate the Hate reported on the game. He had also revealed(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-remake-new-star-fox-game-in-development-for-switch-2-report/1100-6539069/) a "classic-style" Star Fox game was on the way, and that report proved to be true when Nintendo lifted the veil on Star Fox in early May(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/star-fox-on-switch-2-isnt-just-a-retread-its-a-fresh-start/1100-6539843/). Needless to say, an Ocarina of Time remake is a big deal. Originally released for the N64(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-the-review/1900-2543677/), Ocarina of Time was met with critical acclaim, and its DNA can still be found in modern Legend of Zelda games, like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. It was the first 3D Zelda game, laying a foundation for future games in the series with its trailblazing design at the time. Multiple ports and remasters have been released over the decades, with the best version being the 3DS release, which added quality-of-life changes and made revisions to the challenging Water Dungeon.
