Jujutsu Kaisen goes Vampire Survivors in a new Nintendo Switch 2 game

Overview & Key Takeaways

The world of Jujutsu Kaisen collides with the addictive survivor-like formula of Vampire Survivors in Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivation for Nintendo

From the creators of Vampire Survivors comes a whole new battle royale set in the dark universe of Jujutsu Kaisen. The new title, called Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivation, was put on full display during today's Nintendo Direct, allowing players to dive into the shoes of their favorite sorcerers in thrilling survivor-like, arena-fighting action. It marks developer Poncle's first official anime collaboration and serves as a notable departure from the arena fighters and action brawlers that have defined anime adaptations. Instead, this new game draws inspiration from the gameplay formula that helped make Vampire Survivors a global indie sensation.

Details are still limited at this time, but the title's name offers an immediate clue about its origins. Poncle revealed "Survivation" in early June as the banner for a new lineup of survivor-style projects and collaborations, with the studio describing it as an initiative designed to explore larger genre twists and standalone experiences beyond Vampire Survivors itself.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivation is an interesting spin on familiar formula. Rather than simply licensing the anime for another fighting game, Poncle appears to be adapting the series into an experience built around overwhelming enemy hordes, escalating power growth, and increasingly chaotic battles โ€” an approach that seems to fit the curse-infested world of Jujutsu Kaisen surprisingly well. Players will also get to take control of fan-favorite sorcerers like Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki as they battle overwhelming waves of cursed spirits.

For fans of the franchise, the announcement also represents a chance for a fresh start in the gaming space. The most recent major adaptation was Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, a 2v2 arena fighter that launched in 2024 to mixed reception from players and critics alike. Whether Rumble: Survivation can break that trend remains to be seen, but the combination of one of the biggest properities in anime and the studio that helped popularize the survivor-like genre is certainly an intriguing one.

More information, including gameplay footage, release timing, and a full roster of playable sorcerers, is expected to be unveiled in the coming months.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta Will Do Something No Previous CoD Beta Has

Activision has announced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta will have more than just multiplayer content. The MW4 beta will also include access to the campaign mission, Entrenched, along with the upcoming Warzone mode, Resurgence Zodiac(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/cod-modern-warfare-4-beta-may-include-a-new-warzone-map/). Activision will show off some of this content during the Call of Duty: Next event on August 21. As announced previously, the beta begins with an early access period August 21-25 for people who preorder, before opening up to everyone to try August 28-September 1. The early-access beta will not be available on Switch 2, as preorders for the Switch 2 version don't begin until August 28. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Screenshot-2026-08-14-at-10.47.27-AM.png) The MW4 beta approaches. Activision also revealed all the maps, modes, and content in the beta. You can find the full details in GameSpot's rundown of the MW4 beta(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-beta-dates-revealed-heres-how-to-get-in/). Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 releases on October 23 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2, and preordering grants access to the campaign a week before launch(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-brings-back-campaign-early-access-heres-how-to-get-it/). The game coming to Switch 2 is notable since the franchise hasn't appeared on a Nintendo platform since 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts. MW4 is also the first entry since Ghosts in 2013 to skip PS4 and Xbox One. Infinity Ward is leading development on the game, which comes after back-to-back Black Ops releases, the latter of which, 2025's Black Ops 7, had the worst sales ranking in the US since 2008(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/black-ops-7-had-call-of-dutys-worst-sales-year-ranking-in-the-us-since-2008/1100-6537567/). Also noteworthy for Modern Warfare 4 is that it will not launch directly into Xbox Game Pass, as both Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 did.
