Marvel’s Wolverine Has The Classic Brown Suit–And There Will Be Plenty More

The brutal and bloody extended State of Play(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-state-of-play-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/) trailer for Marvel's Wolverine(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-state-of-play-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/) featured a look at Logan's classic brown suit from the comics. PlayStation Blog(https://blog.playstation.com/2026/06/02/marvels-wolverine-new-gameplay-story-details-from-state-of-play/) also shows off some skins that come with the Digital Deluxe Edition(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/you-can-now-preorder-marvels-wolverine-physical-edition/), which gives a lot of hope that Wolverine will get a large suite of costumes just like Spider-Man did in his Insomniac Games outing. A montage at the end of the trailer showed glimpses of the brown-and-tan suit associated with John Byrne's run on the X-Men comics, and PlayStation Blog confirms that the suit is a preorder bonus. Additionally, the Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the "Incredible," "Savage," "Age of Apocalypse," "Night Hunt," and "New Leather" skins. And there's a whole other layer of customization, with different types of claws for Wolverine. Some of those options are probably deep cuts (no pun intended) for longtime X-Men fans. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/40f7f318df68eb3a541ad0e8417244165bacb2c1.png?w=1024) The presence of all of these cosmetics could be seen as a hint that the game will include a wide selection of fan-favorite looks for Wolverine. And there's certainly precedent for that, too, as Insomniac didn't hold back with suits referencing movies and comics through the decades for its three Spider-Man games. Wolverine would have a lot to pull from, whether it be his grey X-Force suit, something based on his recent MCU appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, or even his black leather from the old X-Men films. Might we get Logan in a white tuxedo and eye patch? There's plenty to take away from the latest preview of Marvel's Wolverine, but fans get weirdly invested in character skins. We'll see which threads you can choose from when the game launches on September 15.

Magneto, Green Goblin, And Carnage Join Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/b2bc3c95/marveltokoncarnage.jpg.webp) Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls' roster got a dose of villainy with the reveal of three new roster members. Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage join the 4v4 tag team fighting game and are ready to unleash a potent reign of terror. The three supervillains form a squad led by Doctor Doom, aptly named the Knights of Doom. The trailer shows off the newcomers' unique abilities, from Green Goblin using his signature glider in combat to Carnage absolutely tearing foes to shreds in an appropriately chaotic fashion. The evil trio joins a roster that includes Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Storm, Ms. Marvel, Ghost Rider, Star-Lord, Wolverine, Magik, and Danger. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

The Lost Wild Resurfaces With A 2027 Release Window

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/151b060a/thelostwild01.jpg.webp) The Lost Wild, the dino-thriller from Great Ape Games and Annapurna Interactive, has resurfaced from a long dormancy and looks ready for a revival. The primal adventure is now arriving sometime in 2027. Shown during today's Sony State of Play, The Lost Wild looks to be a first-person survival game where you try to survive in a forest laden with prehistoric animals. We last saw this game back in 2022(https://gameinformer.com/2022/07/28/dinosaur-survival-game-the-lost-wild-gets-suspenseful-new-trailer), during an Annapurna Interactive showcase. In the time since, it looks like the team has been tuning the graphics and making the dinos look particularly terrifying. Currently confirmed for PlayStation 5 and PC, this looks like a prime candidate for anyone who's wanted to see if they could survive in a forest full of hungry dinosaurs. Just remember which ones you should freeze in front of, and which you should run from. We'll keep an eye on this one as it continues emerging from the amber.

Wolverine Gameplay Demo Violence Makes It Look Like Mortal Kombat

State of Play(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-state-of-play-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/) made its return today, and just as Sony promised, it kicked things off with a fresh--and brutal--look at Marvel's Wolverine(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-gameplay-platforms-and-everything-we-know/1100-6516081/) from Insomniac. Game director Marcus Smith outlined the story, which centers on Wolverine attempting to save a group of kidnapped mutants from an extremist group called the Reavers. From there, we saw a lengthy chunk of gameplay as Wolverine infiltrated, and then eviscerated, a sprawling camp of bad guys. After seeing Leech being loaded into a truck, Wolverine slices through a steel beam to create a chain reaction that brings down a shipping container on the villains, and then he's joined by Jean Grey, who helps hold the Reavers in place while Wolverine does what he does best. At what point she even telekinesis-throws a bad guy into his claws. It's pretty gnarly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiBoNgYI5Q The truck starts to get away, so Wolverine gives chase in a nearby motorcycle, using it to jump atop the moving caravan and leap from truck to truck, playing pin cushion with the baddies. Frankly the last one should just see what he did to their friends and give up, but they never do. One notable element throughout the trailer is that the Reavers seem to be augmented with cybernetic parts. Many of them have prosthetic limbs and the big-bad leading the caravan has cyborg arms that can go hand-to-hand with Wolverine's claws. The final sizzle reel teased lots of other characters like Omega Red, Mystique, Sabretooth, and Ogun. An update on the PlayStation Blog(https://blog.playstation.com/2026/06/02/marvels-wolverine-new-gameplay-story-details-from-state-of-play/) noted that Logan can hit a higher tier level in his Rage meter than we saw in the demo, which creates a visual effect inspired by the Black, White, and Blood series of Marvel comics. It also noted that Wolverine will feature a large array of accessibility options. As the new gameplay showed, Insomniac is aiming to deliver a mature and darker experience(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-will-be-full-sized-and-mature-in-tone/1100-6496210/) when compared to its work on the Spider-Man games. Wolverine isn't exactly known for treating his enemies with kid gloves, and this new footage highlighted how Marvel's famous mutant will hack and slash his way(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-trailer-reveals-2026-release-window-and-very-bloody-gameplay/1100-6532076/) through the opposition. At the same time, the developer has also teased that it'll be digging deep into the core of Logan and what makes him tick. Australian actor Liam McIntyre provides the voice and motion-capture acting of the character, and he said that his performance will reveal the "essence" of the character. Marvel's Wolverine launches on September 15 for PS5. PlayStation State Of Play June 2026: All The Biggest Announcements And Games🎮 PlayStation, Multi-platform

PlayStation State Of Play June 2026: All The Biggest Announcements And Games

Ahead of Summer Game Fest 2026(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/every-video-game-showcase-to-watch-in-2026/2900-7446/), PlayStation is hosting its next State of Play to showcase what its first-party studios and select third-party developers have cooking up in 2026 and beyond for the PlayStation 5. The 60-minute event should be filled to the brim with announcements of new games and updated looks at previously revealed titles--don't know about y'all but I have my finger's crossed for more info on Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine and Ember Lab's Kena: Scars of Kosmora. We'll be watching the showcase alongside everyone else, so if you miss an announcement or two, or can't tune in to watch the State of Play, you can find all the biggest announcements right here. With each new trailer and reveal, we'll be updating this round-up and linking to where you can find more information. Marvel's Wolverine !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Screenshot-2026-06-01-124012-1.png?w=1024) The showcase kicked off with a new look at Marvel's Wolverine, the upcoming superhero action game from Insomniac. The new gameplay trailer detailed how the studio has evolved the combo- and counter-focused combat of its Marvel's Spider-Man series to be a lot faster and less "punchy," making for a gaming experience that looks a whole lot more violent than Peter Parker and Miles Morales' adventures. It's a fitting shift for the titular mutant. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls To keep the Marvel hype going, the showcase next revealed a new gameplay trailer for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The trailer focused on notable Marvel villains, with gameplay for Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage as they fought against heroes like Storm and Spider-Man. Rayman Legends Retold Up next, we got an announcement and gameplay reveal for Rayman Legends Retold, an upcoming remake of Rayman Legends. The remake adopts a 3D art style and adds a brand-new villain, story, and levels. It's scheduled to launch on October 1. Bancho The Chef The announcement and gameplay trailer for Bancho the Chef is a nice surprise. The game is a direct prequel to Dave the Diver, focusing on the titular Bancho, a cook who aids Dave in his game. The game seems to explore the cooking process and running a restaurant through multiple minigames, capturing the hectic pressure of the lifestyle by testing you on precision and timing. Kemuri Ikumi Nakamura's next game was up next in the showcase. In Kemuri, you play as a demon hunter and unleash what look to be devastating combos in supernatural fights that take place across an entire cityscape. The game will support three-player co-op and is scheduled to come out in 2027. Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis The new gameplay trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis offered our first look at Lara Croft's upcoming action-adventure. The game looks a whole lot like the reboot trilogy, but with a greater focus on Lara's over-the-top antics and physical attractiveness--staples of the original games. The game is sadly being delayed. The Lost Wild Up next was The Lost Wild, an upcoming first-person stealth game that looks straight-up like something from the Jurassic Park universe. In it, you play as a woman as she carefully makes her way through an abandoned nature reserve and the corresponding facilities as she does her best to elude the notice of dinosaurs and other forms of once-extinct prehistoric life. Silent Hill Townfall This game looks like it was made specifically for the people who adored Firewatch, as the new gameplay trailer focused on one man slowly making his way through a space while being tethered to other people through a hand radio. Obviously, however, with this being a Silent Hill game, things get way creepier than Firewatch. Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve In an interesting shift, the next Ace Combat is putting you behind the eyes of the game's protagonist. Shifting into a first-person perspective for all gameplay both in and outside the cockpit, Ace Combat 8 looks to put a greater emphasis on the story of your pilot and those they fly with for a campaign that feels more personal. Stuntman Hollywood From the sky to the pavement: the next trailer showcased gameplay for the upcoming racer, Stuntman Holiwood. The trailer focused on police chases, acrobatic stunts, and all-around mayhem, with even the time-traveling Delorean making an appearance. The game focuses on performing stunts for Hollywood movies. Ill The reveal for Ill revealed we'll be playing as a man who awoke from a coma to find himself in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. The first-person shooter is set to launch in 2027. Control Resonant This was a bizarre trailer for an interesting-looking experience... which describes the world of Control very well. This sequel adopts a new protagonist, new gameplay, and a new setting, but still deals with weird stuff happening to people just trying to make it through the workday. Marathon: Nightfall Up next, we got a new story trailer for Marathon which goes into what players can expect to experience in the upcoming season. The trailer was very creepy and dark, almost leaning into a horror-y vibe as it showcased the new zone and new shell. Until Dawn 2 You the know the drill of how these games go and look. And this one is the sequel to the game that started it all! This is the very first look at the upcoming story-driven adventure where your bad choices will inevitably lead to characters' deaths and good choices will only leave them traumatized from the ordeal.

PlayStation’s First-Party Game Sales Have Been On Decline Since 2020, Data Shows

!An image of John Travolta, against a backdrop of PS5 and PS45 games.(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Sony-Travolta.jpg?w=1024) After the PS5 generation got off to a strong start in late 2020, sales of first-party games have declined dramatically every year since then, new data has shown. This follows a period where the PS4 generation saw a regular influx of new first-party releases on that platform, but Sony's own numbers paint a worrying picture. According to Stephen Totilo at Game File(https://www.gamefile.news/p/playstation-first-party-sales-decline) and Sony's own data(https://www.sony.com/en/SonyInfo/IR/library/presen/er/pdf/25q4supplement.pdf), first-party PlayStation sales peaked in the 2020 financial year--April 2020 to March 2021--with 58.4 million sales. In the following years, those sales began to decline and sank to just 28.9 million units sold in the 2024 financial year, while the 2025 financial year saw the numbers rise to 32.1 million sales for that period. So what's going on here exactly? It's worth noting that PS4 games like The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima are included in the 2020 FY figures, as they launched at the tail end of the PS4 era and are backward compatible with PS5. The PS4 also received a few more games, and at a time when COVID lockdowns saw an explosive growth in gaming, consoles like the PS5 were a hot commodity. Since then, there have been big changes at Sony, some good and some bad. https://twitter.com/stephentotilo/status/2061590901407809559 Sony's live-service plans, spearheaded by former executive Jim Ryan, haven't exactly panned out as intended, resulting in costly cancellations, studios being shut down, and the plug being pulled on the online-shooter Concord just two weeks after launch. The plan was to launch 12 live-service games by 2025, but in 2026, it had only a handful of these. Helldivers 2 by Arrowhead is one of its biggest, but Sony is only responsible for publishing the game, and the studio is looking to self-publish its next project. Vehicular combat game Destruction AllStars(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/one-of-sonys-first-ps5-exclusives-is-now-delisted-multiplayer-shutdown/) has been delisted, content updates for Destiny 2(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-2-is-getting-last-content-update-soon-as-bungie-moves-onto-its-next-big-game/1100-6540084/) will end this month, and the response to the upcoming Horizon: Hunters Gathering(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-hunters-gathering-expands-sonys-franchise-into-co-op/1100-6537966/) has been tepid at best. That's not to say that there haven't been great PS5 exclusives released--just look at Astro Bot and Ghost of Yotei--but long development times and soaring costs have impacted the frequency at which these games are released. Today's State of Play livestream(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-state-of-play-june-2026-start-time-how-to-watch-and-what-to-expect/) could be the best indicator yet of what PS5 owners can expect in the near future. It does feel like Sony is attempting to recapture its momentum with a renewed focus on single-player games. Upcoming projects like Marvel's Wolverine(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-gameplay-platforms-and-everything-we-know/1100-6516081/) and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/naughty-dogs-intergalactic-aiming-for-mid-2027-release-amid-new-crunch-allegations-report/1100-6537091/) point to this potential U-turn. Sony is reportedly keeping its single-player games as PS5 exclusives(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sonys-single-player-story-games-are-reportedly-becoming-playstation-exclusives-again/1100-6540021/) after several years of bringing them to PC, and other live-service projects like FairGame$(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/fairgames-release-date-trailer-story/1100-6529539/) appear to have taken a backseat. PlayStation State Of Play June 2026: Start Time, How To Watch, And What To Expect

The spirit of E3 is very much alive(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/every-video-game-showcase-to-watch-in-2026/2900-7446), as Sony is back this week with a new State of Play livestream on June 2. Alongside several other big names in gaming, the PlayStation-focused broadcast will show off what's next for the gaming brand across its first-party studios and third-party partners. We’ve rounded up all the details you need to know for the livestream, so you can see when to tune in exactly, where to watch, and what to expect. How to watch State of Play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsLdKNArSMY&pp=ygUIZ2FtZXNwb3Q%3D As always, State of Play will be streamed live on Sony’s YouTube and Twitch channels. - YouTube(https://www.youtube.com/playstation) - Twitch(https://www.twitch.tv/playstation) State of Play start time State of Play kicks off on June 2, at the following times: - 2 PM PT - 5 PM ET - 10 PM BST - 11 PM CEST - 6 AM JST (June 3) What to expect Officially, Sony says that you can watch over an hour of updates, announcements, and gameplay reveals from studios across the world. Marvel's Wolverine(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-gameplay-platforms-and-everything-we-know/1100-6516081/) will kick things off, but beyond that, Sony is keeping quiet. It's likely that Arc System Works Marvel-themed fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls(https://www.gamespot.com/games/marvel-tokon-fighting-souls/), will make an appearance since it's out on August 6, and we wouldn't be surprised to see more of Horizon: Hunters Gathering. Other potential games from Sony's portfolio that could potentially make an appearance include Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet(https://www.gamespot.com/games/intergalactic-the-heretic-prophet/), and it's rumored that Haven Studios' FairGame$ has been rebranded, so a re-reveal might be on the cards. Sony Santa Monica Studio has also been quiet since God of War Ragnarok was released, so it might be time for the studio to finally reveal that spin-off rumored to be in the works. On the third-party side, Persona 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/leaked-persona-6-design-docs-reveal-potential-protagonists/) and a Rayman Origins(https://www.gamespot.com/games/rayman-origins/) remaster are also said to be in development, so a State of Play reveal wouldn't be unlikely. Then there's the GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/grand-theft-auto-6-everything-we-know/1100-6503729/)-sized elephant in the room, as Rockstar Games' open-world crime caper hasn't been seen since its second trailer dropped long, long ago. With a marketing deal in place with Sony, seeing a new look at the game ahead of its November release would end the show on a very high note.
