Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Delayed To August Following Playtests And Player Feedback

!Hell Let Loose Vietnam Expression Games Team 17 August Release Date(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/14/ba536fd1/hllvscreenshot2.jpg.webp) Publisher Team17 and developer Expression Games have delayed Hell Let Loose: Vietnam(https://www.gameinformer.com/product/hell-let-loose-vietnam), its quasi-sequel to WW2 shooter Hell Let Loose(https://www.gameinformer.com/product/hell-let-loose), to August 13 following feedback from players in recent open betas and in internal playtests. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam was originally due out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on June 18(https://www.gameinformer.com/2026/05/14/hell-let-loose-vietnam-gets-june-release-date-open-beta-later-this-month), but will now launch roughly two months later on those same platforms. "We have been so excited watching you share your experiences and seeing the great videos from our War Correspondents and being able to receive and implement your important feedback throughout both our Closed and Open Betas," a press release reads. "In addition to your feedback, we have also been carrying out intensive internal playtests for both the PC and console versions of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, and we have identified several areas where additional development time will allow us to deliver a stronger launch experience. "Therefore, after careful consideration, we have decided to delay the launch to August 13. This will ensure that Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launches at the quality level we expect and you deserve." The most recent open beta started May 29 and ended June 1, but closed betas were held before that. It seems that feedback from those betas, alongside feedback from internal playtests, has helped Expression Games identify areas for improvement, and the team is taking extra time to shore up the loose ends. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 13. In the meantime, read Game Informer's in-depth behind-the-scenes feature about the development of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam(https://www.gameinformer.com/feature/2026/05/12/warm-blood-hot-mics), based on two hours of hands-on time and exclusive interviews with Expression Games and Team17. "Once testing is completed, we plan on releasing the update later this summer," Bethesda said, though it did not give any projected timelines. Fallout 76 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will have a number of updates and improvements, including the following: - Targeted 60fps across Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro. - Improved draw distances. - Improved shadows. - 4K resolution (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series X, Xbox One X, PS5 Pro. - VRR (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS5 Pro. - PS5 and PS4 Pro will support 1440p while previous generation platforms will continue to support 1080p. Beyond ongoing support for Fallout 76, Bethesda is working on Fallout 5(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/fallout-5-release-date-trailer-news/1100-6522412/), though it's not expected to release anytime soon. The Fallout TV show remains ongoing as well, with its third season now in production and expected to release in 2027.

Xbox CEO Says Showing PS5, Switch Logos During Xbox Showcase Is Bad, Actually

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has said it was a "miss" for Microsoft to re-commit to showing the logos of its competitors during Xbox broadcasts, going on to say the company is now looking at how to "adjust" this for future events. "Seeing the feedback on logos. It was a miss, and I own it. We are talking about how we adjust for future Xbox shows," she wrote(https://x.com/ashashar/status/2060501522556022919?s=46). https://twitter.com/ashashar/status/2060501522556022919?s=46 Sharma said this on the same day that Microsoft published the newest Xbox Podcast(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwYglyND1EA&rco=1) in which Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty doubled down on showing the logos of competitor consoles during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 7. "Yes. Absolutely. We'll be very clear about what platforms a game is coming to. We want to continue the precedent; I think we have a good system going where we make it clear what platform a game is coming to," he said. In February 2025, Microsoft said it would start showing PlayStation and Nintendo logos during official broadcasts(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-showcases-will-now-have-playstation-and-nintendo-logos/1100-6529535/) as part of a transparency effort that many fans and industry observers praised. Apart from the Xbox events, it remains commonplace for gaming showcases from platform holders like PlayStation and Nintendo to only show their own logos, even if their games are multiplatform. This was seen as shifty, and many praised Microsoft for changing the tide. Other people did not embrace the change, saying it was important for Microsoft to speak directly to its loyal consumers and show them preference. With Sharma taking over as Xbox CEO, she has promised a "return to our roots"(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-xbox-ceo-wants-to-return-to-our-roots/1100-6538373/) and has said Xbox-exclusives could return(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/microsoft-gaming-is-dead-to-be-replaced-by-return-to-xbox-branding-report/1100-6539586/). So when Booty re-committed to the transparency push for the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, some people were upset, prompting Sharma's response. That very response hasn't gone over entirely smoothly, though, as many are saying she is ultimately doing Xbox a disservice by trying to appease fanboys. The Xbox Games Showcase takes place this coming Sunday, June 7, and it will be immediately followed by a presentation focused exclusively on Gears of War: E-Day.

Call Of Duty: Warzone For PS4 And Xbox One Is Being Delisted And Will Shut Down Later This Year

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/29/4acd1417/call-of-duty-warzone-2.jpg.webp) Activision and Infinity Ward revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4(https://gameinformer.com/preview/2026/05/28/modern-warfare-4-is-returning-to-basics-while-improving-on-its-gunplay) yesterday, which will be the first entry in this generation to release only on current-gen consoles, leaving PlayStation 4 and Xbox One behind. It won’t be alone, as Call of Duty Warzone is also abandoning last-gen hardware. In a blog post(https://support.activision.com/warzone-2/articles/warzone-platform-update), Activision announced that Call of Duty’s popular battle royale is being removed from PS4 and Xbox One storefronts on June 4. Once this happens, it will no longer be available for download. If the game is already in your library, you can still install and play Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One through the end of Season 6 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Overall support for the last-gen versions of Warzone will cease later this year, but Activision does not give an exact shutdown date. The free tiers of the Battle Pass will remain active for last-gen players. Activision states that on June 4, “content purchased with local currency – including COD Points, BlackCell, such as Call of Duty League Operator Packs – will be removed from the Call of Duty: Warzone in-game store and applicable menus on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/29/49920047/call-of-duty-warzone-1.jpg.webp) On June 25, Warzone’s in-game store will be removed from PS4 and Xbox One. You can still redeem COD Points until this date. If you continue playing on platforms that support Warzone, such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, remaining COD Points, purchased Battle Pass content and progression, and most content purchased with local currency will be transferred as long as everything is tied to the same Activision account. Warzone first launched on March 10, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.  You can read our original review of the game at launch here(https://gameinformer.com/review/call-of-duty-warzone/call-of-duty-warzone-review-coming-back-for-more). The free-to-play battle royale saw hundreds of players battling it out on large maps until only one remained, and it has been updated and expanded to coincide with each Call of Duty release since its launch, including a 2.0 overhaul(https://gameinformer.com/preview/2022/09/15/new-details-on-multiplayer-and-warzone-20-changes) in 2022. Although Warzone will continue to be supported on current consoles and PC, it's a bummer to see what's likely not a small portion of the player base losing access to the game in the coming months.

The line between games and movies keeps getting blurrier

The most memorable part of 007 First Light is something that's typically pretty boring: the tutorial. In many games, you're forced through a series of tedious lessons in how to play, presented in a way that feels disconnected from the story itself and at a plodding pace. But First Light does something different. Because the &8230;

Call Of Duty: Warzone Is Dying On PS4 And Xbox One🎮 PlayStation, Xbox, Multi-platform

Call Of Duty: Warzone Is Dying On PS4 And Xbox One

As part of the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/infinity-ward-makes-key-improvements-to-the-formula-with-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4/) today, Activision also confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone is going away on legacy platforms. Starting with MW4 Season 1 (which itself is expected "shortly" after the game releases on October 23), Warzone will no longer be playable on PS4 and Xbox One. The game itself will be delisted for new downloads on those platforms on June 4, though anyone who still has the game can keep playing. Items like Call of Duty Points bundles will be removed on PS4 and Xbox One as well. Then on June 25, the in-game store for Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One will be removed. Players will still be able to progress through the free Battle Pass, however. People playing Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One who hold a Call of Duty Points balance when the game closes aren't completely out of luck. That's because content purchased with Call of Duty Points is connected to your Activision account, so as long as you're playing with the same account, your currency balance and purchased content should still be there. You can visit Activision's support page(https://support.activision.com/warzone-2/articles/warzone-platform-update) to get more specifics about this. Activision also announced that when MW4 Season 1 launches, content from that game will begin to appear in Warzone. Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2. An open beta is coming ahead of launch, and you can get in early(https://www.gamespot.com/?posttype=articles&p=1770153&preview=true&thumbnailid=1770172).

Marathon Is Going Free-To-Play, But Not For Long🎮 PlayStation, Xbox, Multi-platform

Marathon Is Going Free-To-Play, But Not For Long

With a new season starting soon, Bungie is offering Marathon(https://www.gamespot.com/games/marathon/) at its best price yet next week: free. For the low price of nothing, anyone interested in checking out the extraction shooter on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S can grab a free trial for the game starting June 2 and running through June 9, with progress carrying over if they decide to drop $40 on it. PS5 players won't need a PS Plus subscription to go online, either. With Marathon sales reportedly not being as great as Bungie hoped for and player numbers being modest at best, this might be the best chance for the developer to introduce people to the game. The June 2 date also coincides with the start of Marathon's second season, which will add the new Night Marsh zone, a new Sentinel Runner shell, and more deadly hardware. The important thing to note is that a new season also means that player inventories are wiped, leveling the playing field(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marathons-first-wipe-is-just-a-few-weeks-away-heres-what-carries-over/1100-6539926/). This means that you won't have to worry about running into fellow Runners equipped with top-tier loot at the start of the season. Other updates coming in the season include the Cradle, a new system that will let you level up your Runner shell stats without needing to worry too much about faction progression, increased faction progression speed, a larger Vault, and several quality-of-life changes. If you're curious, Marathon is worth trying out as Bungie has put its own fresh spin on the extraction shooter genre. https://youtu.be/a1i801SDrJA "Bungie's slick extraction shooter is great at creating tense battles, incredible highs, and painful lows, with a future that's full of promise," Phil Hornshaw wrote in GameSpot's Marathon review(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/marathon-review-in-progress-incredible-highs-painful-lows/1900-6418472/). Marathon appears to be Bungie's main priority for now, as the studio recently announced that Destiny 2 will receive one final content update(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-2-is-getting-last-content-update-soon-as-bungie-moves-onto-its-next-big-game/1100-6540084/) in June. While the server lights will remain on for the foreseeable future, this update will serve as an epilogue of sorts to the live-service game, just when its story was starting to get good(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-2-is-ending-just-as-its-story-started-to-get-good/). 'Significant" layoffs are also expected to follow(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/report-claims-significant-layoffs-are-incoming-for-bungie-as-destiny-2-ends/) now that Destiny 2 is being sunset, but Bungie has confirmed that it is also developing several ideas for future games. 7 Marathon Beginner Tips To Help You Survive On Tau Ceti !4661193-hat7ja9rjtkdpwvu8vbtid.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4661193-hat7ja9rjtkdpwvu8vbtid.jpg?w=1024) !4661195-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-18.04.15.97.png(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4661195-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-18.04.15.97.png?w=1024) !4661196-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-14.02.56.02.png(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4661196-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-14.02.56.02.png?w=1024) !4661200-marathon.exescreenshot2026.03.02-10.52.41.35.png(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4661200-marathon.exescreenshot2026.03.02-10.52.41.35.png?w=1024) !4661198-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-18.03.56.84.png(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4661198-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-18.03.56.84.png?w=1024) !4661199-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-14.03.08.45.png(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4661199-marathonserverslamscreenshot2026.02.26-14.03.08.45.png?w=1024) !4661201-2026marathonserverslampressk.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4661201-2026marathonserverslampressk.jpg?w=1024) View Images(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/7-marathon-beginner-tips-to-help-you-survive-on-tau-ceti/2900-7557/)
