While the gaming world may be foaming at the mouth for any new information about Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar's other blockbuster franchise has been having a heck of a week. During parent company Take-Two Interactive's annual earnings call last week, CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold more than 85 million copies, making it the third-best-selling video game of all time. (Only Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto 5 have sold more copies.) And that number's about to get even bigger, because the acclaimed 2018 Western just got a massive discount on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
If you've never played Red Dead 2, now's the perfect opportunity, because it's on sale for a massive 75% off. Instead of paying $59.99, you can own one of the best video games ever made for just 15 bucks. The deal is available as part of the PlayStation Days of Play and the Xbox Deals Unlocked promotions. This is for the PS4/Xbox One version of the game — there isn't a remastered version for current-gen consoles available yet. Both sales run through June 10.
If you're a PC or Steam Deck player, you're out of luck for now. Red Dead 2 is available on Steam, but it isn't discounted on Valve's platform at the moment.
Though it's now eight years old, Red Dead 2 is still one of the best-looking games out there. Even if you don't have a spare 80 hours to experience all of Arthur Morgan's story, it's still worth playing this remarkably ambitious game. Heck, the meditative experience of exploring the world on horseback alone is easily worth $15.
