The US Federal Reserve has announced new task forces for advancing monetary policy. Led by chairman Kevin Warsh, the list of advisors for each task force includes Xbox CEO Asha Sharma.

"The Federal Reserve's commitment to price stability and maximum employment is unwavering. As is our resolve to pursue our mandate with rigor," writes Chairman Kevin Warsh in a press release. "The U.S. economy has changed significantly over the last generation, and never more so than right now. Each task force will carefully consider whether policymakers' means and methods, analytical tools and policy approaches can be improved upon. I am honored that the best minds from a range of disciplines have agreed to work with us to sharpen our performance as an institution. The goal is straightforward: to ensure the Fed is best positioned to achieve our objectives in this consequential time."

The five task forces are Communications, Balance Sheet Policy, Data, Productivity and Jobs, and Inflation Frameworks. Each will be co-led by external advisors "with deep expertise in their fields." Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has been named as one of three advisors for the Productivity and Jobs task force, which aims to “assess the economic impact of new general-purpose technologies, including artificial intelligence, to inform the Federal Reserve's policy judgments.”

Sharma was president of Microsoft's CoreAI before becoming CEO of Xbox, which undoubtedly led to the role of providing expertise on the economic impact of AI. Notably, Sharma is also the only active CEO among the entire list of advisors, which largely includes professors and former business leaders/politicians.

Sharma was appointed Xbox CEO in February following the departures of former heads Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond. Among other moves, such as revealing new details of the next Xbox console, codename Project Helix, Sharma's biggest initiative to date is a massive restructuring of Xbox that began this week, which will result in over 3,000 layoffs across each game division. The company has also divested from five development studios: Compulsion Games, Double Fine Productions, Ninja Theory, Undead Labs, and Arkane Studios.

Mistfall Hunter Players Are Begging For This One Addition, And The Devs Just Won’t Do It

Mistfall Hunter(https://www.gamespot.com/games/mistfall-hunter/) has been out for almost three weeks now, with the extraction brawler launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on July 29. Dating back to even its open beta, the community has been begging developer Bellring Games for one addition: a dedicated mode for teams of two. All over the game's official subreddit(https://www.reddit.com/r/MistfallHunter/) are posts from players asking that the developer include a duos mode. "I need duos," Redditor broman510 titled an August 11 post(https://www.reddit.com/r/MistfallHunter/comments/1vh8nrv/ineedduos/). "In this, duos vs trios seems so hard and almost impossible; most of the time one of us is getting jumped by 2 and poked down by one." "We need duos," Matta114 posted on August 17(https://www.reddit.com/r/MistfallHunter/comments/1vqkbwt/weneedduosdothedevsreadthissubreddit/). "I don't care if the game is balanced for trios. I'll take unbalanced duos over trios with some random 3rd dude that runs the opposite direction every game." "Upvote for duos," wrote PuwudleRS in an August 8 post that generated 1.3 upvotes(https://www.reddit.com/r/MistfallHunter/comments/1vioube/upvoteforduos/). "I am addicted to this game, but I CRAVE the duo experience this game has to offer. Please devs, I am begging with my life." The common complaint from the community is that duos would allow friends more flexibility when playing together. Not everyone has two other people online at the same time and willing to play the same game. You can queue into trios, but you and your bestie will get a random third fill-in--and randoms are oftentimes unpredictable and unreliable. "Between the lack of comms from randoms, to people flaking out in fights and leaving their teammates die, to the stealing all the loot (especially if the third is a melee and they can grab the bodies first)," Redditor kennypeace wrote on August 5(https://www.reddit.com/r/MistfallHunter/comments/1vgaxpd/gameisgreatbutneedsduoqueueurgently/). "The amount of times I've died, watching someone loot a dead player, whilst their teammates are fighting for their lives, is unbearable. Three stack is miserable at the moment, and I'm not even gonna mention the bloody lag (in Europe, hope you Americans are faring better over there) that may be helped by lowering the team count." Unfortunately, the community's call may never be answered. Back in March 2026, developer Bellring Games took to X(https://x.com/MistfallHunter/status/2029389233832730625) to share that it currently has "no plans" to add a duos mode to Mistfall Hunter. Even though the studio knows it's a "highly requested feature," duos would impact the game's matchmaking efficiency. "More importantly, it would exacerbate balance issues," Bellring Games said. "It is difficult to ensure balanced gameplay for duos while also maintaining balance for trio and solo modes. For now, we are prioritizing other areas of development." Redditors have called for users to "make a suggestion for duo queues" in the Discord, and now the support-hub server is rife with users begging the team to add duos. Aside from the official statement posted on X, Bellring Games hasn't said anything else regarding a duos mode. It appears this tug-of-war will probably go on for a while. At least Mistfall Hunter is a cool experience, a fascinating amalgam of souls-like combat and extraction shooter elements to create something of an extraction brawler. It's made me a believer in extraction games(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/mistfall-hunter-has-made-me-a-believer-in-extraction-games/) as a whole.

Fortnite's Upcoming Season Includes Crossovers With Iconic Games Like Sonic, Mega Man, Persona, and Kingdom Hearts

!Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/08/17/a7d19c04/chapter7season4overrideofficialtrailer0-32screenshot.jpg.webp) Fortnite's newest season, Override, begins on August 20, and yesterday's trailer confirmed the new map and battle pass will be centered on a wide range of video game crossovers. The most notable inclusion is Sonic the Hedgehog; he'll be playable as a skin (stretched to fit Fortnite's standard proportions), and elements of Green Hill Zone will appear on the map. The new footage shows Jonesy running fast enough to go upside-down on one of the series' staple gravity-defying loops. However, Sonic is just the tip of the iceberg in Chapter 7, Season 4 of Fortnite. In addition to other characters from his universe, including Tails, Dr. Eggman, and Shadow, the trailer also includes glimpses of Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon(https://gameinformer.com/xbox-games-showcase/2026/06/07/spyro-a-realm-beyond-is-a-brand-new-spyro-adventure), Joker from Persona 5, and giant Tetris blocks that fall from the sky. Key art released by the official Fortnite account also shows glimpses of Pac-Man and Sora from Kingdom Hearts (who we recently saw a lot of in the new D23 footage(https://gameinformer.com/2026/08/17/kingdom-hearts-iv-gets-2027-launch-window-coco-world-reveal-kingdom-hearts-anime)). Meanwhile, it looks like other characters who have appeared as skins in past seasons, like Master Chief, Geralt, Ryu, and Lara Croft, are also returning (to the battle shop). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/08/17/ab1eeeff/fortniteoverride.jpg.webp)(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/nocompression/public/2026/08/17/ab1eeeff/fortniteoverride.jpg.webp) Gameplay-wise, the trailer also shows a backpack-based power-up system, where wearing items associated with characters like Sonic or Tails gives you the powers of speed or flight, respectively. We also see weapons like Mega Man's arm cannon and the 8-bit shotgun, the latter of which seems to track the player's score. The trailer concludes with a glimpse of Geno, a major villain in Fortnite's lore who will presumably be appearing as a boss for players to battle. You can check out the full trailer below: Fortnite's Chapter 7, Season 4 Override begins on August 20, and you can play it on basically every platform you can think of: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
