GTA 6 Fans Are Getting Excited Again For A Date In August, As Take-Two Makes A Notable Change

Overview & Key Takeaways

Grand Theft Auto 6 preorders have finally arrived. New screenshots were also recently released. The game's November 19 release date is locked in. But Rockstar Games is still staying relatively quiet about the specifics of GTA 6, like what new kinds of gameplay experiences it provides.

To date, all that's been revealed are screenshots, story descriptions, and cinematic trailers. Fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of any new information about the game, or a third trailer, and while it remains to be seen when that could happen, fans are now circling a new date on their calendars: August 7. That is the day that Rockstar owner Take-Two will release its next quarterly sales report.

Intriguingly, Take-Two is changing things up in terms of how it shares this update. Take-Two's quarterly reports, and the Q&A sessions that follow, are historically held after the market closes at 4 PM ET. But this new report on August 7 will be released before the market opens, with a conference call following at 8 AM ET. The market will then open that day at 9:30 AM ET.

People are speculating as to what this could mean, but Take-Two has not offered any official explanation for the change-up. Many companies report earnings before the bell and many report after. The notable bit here is that Take-Two normally reports after the market closes, not before it opens.

GTA 6 is coming this November.

In any event, there is precedent for Rockstar announcing new GTA 6 info around the time of Take-Two's earnings reports, so the excitement is not unfounded.

Take-Two has also said it will begin the marketing campaign for GTA 6 this summer, so people are waiting for that as well.

GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will not be available on a disc, and that just makes sense.

GTA 6 Leak Shows Off Apparent Nudist Colony

A new clip showing leaked Grand Theft Auto 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/grand-theft-auto-6-everything-we-know/1100-6503729/) footage has made its way online, and it looks like you're going to be able to visit a nudist colony in Leonida. The clip, which just runs for a few minutes, shows co-protagonist Jason walking near a pool and several hot tubs, with dozens of naked people hanging around and dancing. Some of them seem relatively neutral to Jason's presence, while others are annoyed with the completely clothed man walking around and looking at them with binoculars. That seems like a reasonable reaction. One woman in particular notices Jason leering with binoculars and physically attacks him. Again, reasonable. While we've seen a whole bunch of GTA 6 clips from a still-at-large leaker(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-leaker-has-not-been-identified-yet-report/) over the last week, they may not have a particularly negative effect on Rockstar. According to a former technical director at the studio, the vast majority of players don't care about the leaked footage, and it pales in comparison to the controversial Hot Coffee incident(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-leaks-dont-matter-and-arent-as-bad-as-hot-coffee-scandal-ex-rockstar-director-says/) that affected Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Still, Take-Two is actively subpoenaing information(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/microsoft-and-discord-subpoenaed-in-gta-6-leak-case/) related to the leaks in an effort to uncover the leaker's identity. We'll get our first official look at gameplay on August 27, exclusively on Netflix(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-extended-look-coming-august-27-on-netflix/). Grand Theft Auto 6 launches for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
