Overview & Key Takeaways

I'm not sure how to interpret the fact that nowadays, one of the more surprisingly common fantasies is that of owning a small business. Aside from the fact I'm reliably informed that's not as cosy an undertaking as you might expect, I find that games like Shop Titans offer a more understandable fantasy-themed take on this aspiration. And speaking of fantasy, the latest collaboration in Kabam's tycoon simulator is certainly an unusual one. But in terms of strange and wonderful adventures, you can't get better than Jumanji, or er, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (you know, the one with the Rock). ... [MORE]

Welcome. To. Jumanji!

Jokes aside, this new event runs until April 20th and features a host of new content, starting off with a Community Adventure Challenge, tasking you with navigating the wilds of Jumanji itself and taking on its trials to contribute to a global challenge that could unlock some juicy rewards for all.

Roll the dice

Not only that, but now's a good time to jump into Shop Titans' mix of RPG and business tycoon fun, with a free welcome package for new players, not to mention free daily gifts amounting to a whopping 15 new items inspired directly by Jumanji! Be sure to check out our

for some new goodies too!

While it'll never take the place in my heart of the Robin Williams original, I can appreciate the dumb fun of the new Jumanji films. So, if limited-time loot and a complete armour set are the icing on the cake for you, it's time to jump in and give Shop Titans' new collab a go!

But if you'd prefer to run your small business out of a more rural setting, then there are options. For example, why not take a look at our list of the best mobile games like Stardew Valley to see what some of our big picks in the life-sim genre are?

Eterspire kicks off its jam-packed update Of Rabbits and Wolves

It seems rather fitting that, after having just written about the revived MMORPG Heroic Legends Reborn, we see another indie game of the same genre receive its latest update. Eterspire's latest batch of new content arrives today in the update dubbed Of Rabbits and Wolves. As you might expect, the crux of this latest update to Eterspire is introducing brand-new content covering hunting and animals. Heroic Legends Reborn is the product of two brothers rebuilding an MMO from the ground up

We all get nostalgic for games which other people seem to overlook. For me, it's Two Worlds (yeah, I know), and for two brothers, it's the now fifteen-year-old MMO Heroic Legends! So, what do you do when that game has disappeared? Well, if you're like them, you rebuild it yourself. With blessings from the original creators and access to the artwork used to create the hand-painted MMO, two brothers known as SonOfBoo and Andepher have recreated Heroic Legends from the ground up. Rechristened as Heroic Legends Reborn, it's slated to arrive on iOS and Android on September 5th. ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/heroic-legends-reborn/coming-soon/)

Nintendo’s War On Switch Emulators Continues With 400 More GitHub Takedowns🍄 Nintendo Switch, Mobile, Multi-platform

Nintendo’s War On Switch Emulators Continues With 400 More GitHub Takedowns

Nintendo is doing what Nintendo does: issuing DMCA takedown notices to anyone who illegally offers access to any of the company's games. That's exactly what happened earlier this week, as Nintendo wiped out over 400 Switch emulators from GitHub. According to an August 21 TorrentFreak report(https://torrentfreak.com/nintendo-wipes-out-400-switch-emulator-repos-in-single-day-github-sweep/), the Mario maker sent the proprietary developer platform seven DMCA takedown notices targeting Nintendo Switch emulator repositories. This includes Suyu (the Yuzu successor that became popular after Yuzu shut down(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-lawsuit-shuts-down-switch-emulator-yuzu-and-3ds-emulator-citra/1100-6521589/) in March 2024), the Android emulator Skyline, and a few lingering Yuzu forks. In total, some 401 repositories were nuked off GitHub, with 311 of them being Suyu. Now that they're removed, if you attempt to visit the repository on GitHub, you'll receive either a 404 error or a pop-up notification that it's been taken down. In the DMCA pop-up notification, Nintendo states that the targeted repositories "offer, link to, or otherwise provide access to Nintendo Switch emulators." The company said these emulators violate Technological Protection Measures (TPMs), which act as digital locks controlled by copyright owners to prevent copying data illegally. "Specifically, these Nintendo Switch emulators illegally circumvent Nintendo's TPMs in order to run illegal copies of Nintendo Switch games," the notice reads. "Nintendo Switch games are encrypted using proprietary cryptographic keys (prod.keys) which protect against unauthorized access to and copying of the copyrighted games. During operation, the emulators at the reported repositories necessarily use unauthorized copies of these cryptographic keys to decrypt unauthorized copies of Nintendo Switch games, or ROMs, at or immediately before runtime without Nintendo's authorization." With Nintendo summoning the Eye of Mario on 401 repositories earlier this week, and over 8,500 repositories in May 2024(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-shuts-down-yuzu-clones-in-ongoing-quest-to-kill-switch-emulation/1100-6523158/), this brings the company's repository death count to almost 9,000 on GitHub alone. And with Nintendo filing a lawsuit against Yuzu creator Tropic Haze in February 2024(https://kotaku.com/nintendo-zelda-tears-kingdom-switch-yuzu-emulate-pirate-1851293463), which resulted in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom(https://www.gamespot.com/games/the-legend-of-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom/) being pirated over one million times before it launched, the company's war on emulators continues.
