Whether you're a Huntr/x or Saja Boys fan, there's something new to uncover about KPop Demon Hunters. For us, the most intriguing part of these six pages is the reveal of why Huntr/x stick together through thick and thin.
"HUNTR/X serves as a family of sorts, especially for Rumi, filling a gap that was ripped open when her warrior mother was killed, at a time when Rumi was just a baby," Maggie Kang, writer and director of KPop Demon Hunters, notes. "The trio each come from broken families, lonely upbringings, where they never felt like they truly belonged anywhere, and so they really need this group to be their safe place."
The friendship between the three women is undoubtedly the heart of the film, and only through Zoey and Mira's acceptance can Rumi stay true to herself by the end. Even so, it's fulfilling for Kang and others to see how much the trio's love for one another is shaped by their troubled past.
