'Skip and Loafer' Season 2 Anime Finally Coming in 2027

The long wait for Skip and Loafer's second season is almost over. The charming rom-com anime that first premiered in 2023 is officially returning in April 2027.
The official Skip and Loafer website made the announcement on Sunday, Aug. 16, with the release of a teaser trailer and a commemorative illustration. The short video is just under a minute and offers viewers a new look at our central couple, Mitsumi and Shima, as well as the show's supporting cast. They go about their high school lives as usual. Mitsumi narrates that nothing stays the same, but she's excited to see what comes next.
Skip and Loafer follows protagonist Mitsumi Iwakura, who moves from her small town to attend high school in Tokyo. While she is initially not used to the hustle of city life and a larger school, she soon strikes up a friendship with Sōsuke Shima. Shima has golden retriever energy, and is pretty popular at school. The show is focused on their blossoming feelings for each other but is rounded out by a wonderful supporting cast of friends and family that really make this one of the best rom-com anime series in recent years.
The season two announcement also included a message from Mitsumi's Japanese voice actor, Tomoyo Kurosawa. She said:
I have been feeling restless the whole time, because I am so excited that I will be able to see Mitsumi and the others again. Being able to gather with the exact same group again after a few years is not something to take for granted, and I feel extremely happy. I want to savor this special moment and run through the story. With a single-minded dedication in my heart that would make Mitsumi proud! I will do my best! Yeah!
Shima's voice actor, Akinori Egoshi, similarly chimed in saying, "I am really looking forward to the time when we can all enjoy the anime Skip and Loafer together again!" The main staff for season two will include most of the same names from the first season. That includes director and composer Kotomi Deai and character designer Manami Umeshita.
Season two of Skip and Loafer will be streamed on Crunchyroll when it premieres next April.
