Overview & Key Takeaways

Netflix's Oscar-winning animated film KPop Demon Hunters is getting a ton of goodies in Criterion Collection release.

The Criterion Collection announced back in February that KPop Demon Hunters would be getting a physical release in another victory for the Oscar-winning sensation. Now Criterion has shared new details about the cornucopia of goodies that will come with the physical disc release of Netflix's animated film.

The first thing that grabs the viewer's attention when looking at the official listing on Criterion's site is the gorgeous cover art for the release. Ami Thompson has depicted HUNTR/X members Rumi, Mira, and Zoey leaping into battle with weapons in hand. The background has geometric patterns that evoke the film's mystical barrier known as the Honmoon. The film will come with a 4K UHD disc with Dolby Vision HDR and two Blu-rays with the film and special features.

The special features include a feature-length animatic with an introduction from directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. There will also be a new making-of documentary and two video essays by Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou of Every Frame a Painting. Sure, you'll have the movie on disc, but a trailer for KPop Demon Hunters has been included for good measure. Each of the film's songs will come with a lyric video. The Criterion release will include English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and English descriptive audio.

As for physical goodies, fans will get several collectible postcards with original illustrations by some of the film's artists. A physical essay by critic Karen Han will also be included.

The Criterion edition of KPop Demon Hunters will be released on Nov. 3, 2026, but fans can pre-order it now. The 4K + Blu-ray three-disc set currently costs $39.96, the two-disc Blu-ray set costs $31.96, and the two-disc DVD set costs $23.96. KPop Demon Hunters joins other Netflix releases in the Criterion Collection including Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog, Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story, and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.

Fortnite's Upcoming Season Includes Crossovers With Iconic Games Like Sonic, Mega Man, Persona, and Kingdom Hearts

!Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/08/17/a7d19c04/chapter7season4overrideofficialtrailer0-32screenshot.jpg.webp) Fortnite's newest season, Override, begins on August 20, and yesterday's trailer confirmed the new map and battle pass will be centered on a wide range of video game crossovers. The most notable inclusion is Sonic the Hedgehog; he'll be playable as a skin (stretched to fit Fortnite's standard proportions), and elements of Green Hill Zone will appear on the map. The new footage shows Jonesy running fast enough to go upside-down on one of the series' staple gravity-defying loops. However, Sonic is just the tip of the iceberg in Chapter 7, Season 4 of Fortnite. In addition to other characters from his universe, including Tails, Dr. Eggman, and Shadow, the trailer also includes glimpses of Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon(https://gameinformer.com/xbox-games-showcase/2026/06/07/spyro-a-realm-beyond-is-a-brand-new-spyro-adventure), Joker from Persona 5, and giant Tetris blocks that fall from the sky. Key art released by the official Fortnite account also shows glimpses of Pac-Man and Sora from Kingdom Hearts (who we recently saw a lot of in the new D23 footage(https://gameinformer.com/2026/08/17/kingdom-hearts-iv-gets-2027-launch-window-coco-world-reveal-kingdom-hearts-anime)). Meanwhile, it looks like other characters who have appeared as skins in past seasons, like Master Chief, Geralt, Ryu, and Lara Croft, are also returning (to the battle shop). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/08/17/ab1eeeff/fortniteoverride.jpg.webp)(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/nocompression/public/2026/08/17/ab1eeeff/fortniteoverride.jpg.webp) Gameplay-wise, the trailer also shows a backpack-based power-up system, where wearing items associated with characters like Sonic or Tails gives you the powers of speed or flight, respectively. We also see weapons like Mega Man's arm cannon and the 8-bit shotgun, the latter of which seems to track the player's score. The trailer concludes with a glimpse of Geno, a major villain in Fortnite's lore who will presumably be appearing as a boss for players to battle. You can check out the full trailer below: Fortnite's Chapter 7, Season 4 Override begins on August 20, and you can play it on basically every platform you can think of: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
