Overview & Key Takeaways

Ah, summer. Right now I'm roasting alive, but at the very least we're getting plenty of exciting events in various top games that capitalise on the season. And the latest is none other than My.Games flagship, heavy metal-battling multiplayer game War Robots with their new Sun, Sea, Steel event. As you might expect, the theme here is summer, but it's far from just bikinis and mai-tais. This update introduces the newest quadruped robot in the form of Fang, a stealthy stalker that uses its Sandcloak ability to close in on the enemy before delivering a devastating cone-based attack to inflict various debuffs. ...

Feel the steel between your toes

Not only that, but there's a new Titan on the field too with Sirocco, which can use its key ability to phase through attacks. Add onto that additional tactical drones and a brand-new family of shotguns to take advantage of, and fun in the sun turns to destruction in the sun.

Finally, keep an eye out for the Ultimate Raven and Ultimate Atomizer, both of which get powerful new boosts to their performance as well as an exclusive pilot roster that contributes to the already great performance of these and the other new mechs.

War Robots has been carrying the flag for My.Games mobile catalogue for more than a decade now. And if this latest event is any indication, they aren't going to be moving on anytime soon. So be sure to jump into Sun, Sea, Steel for some truly destructive action.

But maybe you're not looking for death and destruction. Perhaps you'd rather take on one of the most challenging tasks anyone faces in their life and find love. In which case, check out our review of Pigeon: A Love Story to see whether this metropolitan tour of real-life landmarks hits the spot.

The Convergence is a dark fantasy auto-battler that uses an isometric perspective

As we head towards midday, there's an interesting little iOS auto-battler that's just crossed my desk. That's a genre I've often expressed confusion about the appeal of in the past, but if there's one that can justify why people like it, I reckon that The Convergence, out now on iOS, may just be that! With its isometric perspective and dark fantasy world, it's easy to see that The Convergence may have taken some significant inspiration from the world of Diablo. In it, you equip your heroes and send them out, watching as they either succeed or fail based on your preparation. ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/the-convergence/out-now-on-ios/)

MoonDust: Cosmic Journey is an atmospheric sci-fi side-scroller with lush graphics

It's hard to really communicate the majesty and grandeur of outer space in gaming. I mean, there's only so many times you can stare in wonder at stars and nebulae before it all gets a bit samey. Fortunately, MoonDust: Cosmic Journey offers a truly visually attention-grabbing take on worlds of sci-fi and outer space! Available now on iOS, MoonDust is described by the developer as an atmospheric sci-fi exploration game. What that means is you'll have basic side-scrolling action in the foreground as you pilot your ship and avoid obstacles while collecting different elements, as in the background a gorgeous vista of strange alien worlds goes by. ... Sally Face is the tale of one boy, his portable console, a prosthetic face and the horrors

The indie horror game is practically a genre unto itself. And with so many of them, there are equally ludicrous and disturbing premises for how the nightmare begins. But I think Sally Face is probably a standalone for its main character literally not having a face, and surprisingly, they're not the villain either! Sally Face sees you taking on the role of the titular character, a boy with a dark and troubled past, which is probably the best you can hope for, having to wear a prosthetic face after yours was destroyed. With the help of a portable gaming console that allows him to speak with the dead, Sal will have to solve a series of disturbing mysteries plaguing his home town with the help of his friends. ...
