'The Silent Cartographer' skulls and terminal locations in Halo Campaign Evolved

Overview & Key Takeaways

All the skull and terminal locations on "The Silent Cartographer" level in Halo: Campaign Evolved.

"The Silent Cartographer," one of the most iconic Halo missions of all time, has three skulls and one terminal to seek out in Halo Campaign Evolved. This is the mission where Master Chief is in search of the map for the entirety of the halo, after successfully rescuing Captain Keyes in "Truth and Reconciliation," but getting his hands on it is easier said than done. It's also one of the best looking levels in the remake, with an absolutely stunning beach encircling the island.

Here are the locations of all three skulls and the terminal in "The Silent Cartographer" in Halo: Campaign Evolved.

Skull 1: Bandana

  • Description: Infinite ammo and grenades.

  • Objective: Find the entrance to the map room.

After getting off the pelican at the start of the mission, clear all the enemies, then Foehammer will deliver you a warthog. Drive it around the side of the island to the objective marker, and eventually it will direct you indoors, amid another large group of Covenant enemies.

Don't go inside. Instead, look to the right-hand side of the structure and you'll see a cave. Go in there and the Bandana skull is on the floor.

Skull 2: Acrophobia

  • Description: The Corps: Now issue rifles AND wingsโ€ฆ

  • Objective: Locate the security system's override substation.

From the cave with the Bandana skull, keep going around the island, towards the objective. You'll see a huge rock shaped like a ramp. Behind that will be some enemies, with a path leading up to the center of the island. Clear the enemies and follow the path until you find a structure with two hunters at the base.

Kill the hunters then approach the foot of the structure. Jump onto the diagonal beam then slowly walk up it. When you reach the top, which is partially covered by some leaves and branches, jump onto the flat section. You'll see the skull just after it, sitting at the highest point you can reach.

Terminal 1: Status Update

  • Objective: Locate the security system's override substation.

Keep progressing from the Acrophobia skull until you enter another Covenant structure. As you head through, you'll encounter two hunters in a small room. Take them both out, then keep going onwards. Cortana will instruct you to override the security using the terminal, but keep walking beyond that. At the very end of this path is the Status Update terminal behind a table.

Skull 3: Hip Fire

  • Description: All weapon zoom functionality is disabled.

  • Objective: Find the Silent Cartographer.

After disabling the security override, continue following the objective deeper into the structure until you encounter yet another pair of hunters. When they're dead, behind them should be a stairwell that is very well lit, with some blue lighting effects emanating from the middle. Look off the edge, and you'll see the Hip Fire skull on a platform. All you need to do is drop down to grab it.

CoD: MW4 DLC Honors Real-Life Medal Of Honor Recipient Who Lost His Eye And Teeth In Grenade Blast

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will have day-one DLC, and like in years past, it will focus on a real-life military hero, with proceeds going to charity. The Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack, launching on October 23 alongside the game, adds the real-life Medal of Honor recipient Kyle Carpenter to the game as a playable character. Carpenter was in Marjah, Afghanistan, when, on November 21, 2010, he put himself in front of a grenade to help save the life of his fellow Marine, Nick Eufrazio. Carpenter sustained serious injuries from the grenade blast. He was unconscious for five weeks, had his teeth stripped from his mouth, and lost an eye. He sustained numerous other life-threatening injuries in the blast. Carpenter received the Medal of Honor from President Barack Obama in 2014. "No matter how wrecked your world gets, the world keeps spinning," Carpenter said in the video below. https://twitter.com/CODE4Vets/status/2090856990872650127 The Call of Duty Endowment is Activision's charity that supports military veterans and specifically helping soldiers find jobs after leaving the service. Proceeds from this new Valor Pack will benefit the endowment. There have been numerous other DLC packs for Call of Duty games supporting the endowment. A previous DLC pack for Black Ops 7 brought the real-life soldier Chris Cassidy to the game(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/real-life-soldier-chris-cassidy-is-coming-to-call-of-duty-in-a-charity-bundle/1100-6539766/); he was among those hunting down Osama bin Laden immediately after 9/11, and then he became a NASA astronaut. Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, but the game's beta is going on right now for those who preordered the game(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/cod-modern-warfare-4-aims-for-fast-and-fluid-movement-but-a-classic-mode-isnt-off-the-table/). An open beta for everyone will be held August 28-September 1.
