Dead By Daylight Is Giving Out Free Codes For Its Next Chapter

Dead by Daylight(https://www.gamespot.com/games/dead-by-daylight/)'s next chapter, Chorus of Sin, is a "community-driven" event that kicks off at the end of August, but you can start playing it up to a month early by winning yourself an early-access code. Starting July 30, Dead by Daylight content creators will stream the new Chorus of Sin chapter on Twitch, and tuning in for at least an hour will place you in a drawing that will randomly select winners. Those lucky players will receive Steam codes via email to play the next chapter ahead of its August 25 public date. It'll even get you in before the private test build launches on August 5. The early-access windows will be limited and spread across the next several days. You can find that schedule below. - Thursday, July 30: 12-4 PM ET and 5-9 PM ET - Friday, July 31: 8-11 AM ET, 12-4 PM ET and 5-9 PM ET - Saturday, Aug. 1: 8-11 AM ET and 12-4 PM ET If you're interested in trying your luck at getting a code, follow these steps: - Create or already have a BHVR account - Have your BHVR account linked to Twitch(https://support.bhvr.com/hc/en-us/articles/20142611303444-Twitch-Drops) - Watch a minimum of one hour of Chorus of Sin Early Access streams labeled with the “Drops Enabled” tag Not everyone who qualifies will get a code, but given that it's free other than an hour of your time, it's worth a shot if you're looking to check out the next chapter weeks in advance. Chorus of Sin is the first-ever DBD chapter built by the community. It'll feature a new original killer, The Judgment, as well as a new original survivor, Aurora, both of whom are characters that the game's player base helped imagine. 30 Best Horror Games To Play In The Dark In 2026 !4562165-horrorgames20252(1).jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1632/16320660/4562165-horrorgames20252(1).jpg?w=636) !4366948-cifhphwmm4cz22vbkxi3pu.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1632/16320660/4366948-cifhphwmm4cz22vbkxi3pu.jpg?w=636) !4206982-alienisolation.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1601/16018044/4206982-alienisolation.jpg?w=636) !4206981-incident-at-grove-lake.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1601/16018044/4206981-incident-at-grove-lake.jpg?w=636) !4206971-amnesia.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1601/16018044/4206971-amnesia.jpg?w=636) !4366963-mortuaryassistant.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1632/16320660/4366963-mortuaryassistant.jpg?w=636) !4206974-deadspace.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1601/16018044/4206974-deadspace.jpg?w=636) View Images(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/best-horror-games/2900-4900/)

Halo: Campaign Evolved On PC Has A Hidden Feature You Need A Mod To Access

Halo: Campaign Evolved On PC Has A Hidden Feature You Need A Mod To Access

This week, PlayStation 5 players were able to join their Xbox and PC counterparts for the first time in Halo: Campaign Evolved(https://www.gamespot.com/?shadowgame=halo-campaign-evolved). Console gamers are able to use a classic Halo feature that the PC port seemingly lacks: split-screen co-op. However, a new PC mod restores access to this missing feature. A Halo: Campaign Evolved split-screen co-op mod was posted on Nexus Mods(https://www.pcgamer.com/games/halo/mod-activates-split-screen-support-in-halo-campaign-evolved-pc-thats-just-sitting-there-unused/) by user Jpurd. As noted by Jpurd, the mod doesn't do anything except unlock the local split-screen option that was already in the game. There are some drawbacks to this AI-created mod. It can only handle two players via split-screen mode even though the game can support 4-player co-op. Users also note that it only works if both players are using a controller, and the mod may be limited to Steam users. Anyone playing Campaign Evolved on PC Game Pass or who purchased a copy from the Microsoft Store may not be able to use the mod at all. The rollout of Campaign Evolved hit a snag last week when players who paid extra for early access on Xbox weren't able to jump into the game(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-players-on-xbox-who-paid-more-to-play-early-cant/) alongside PC and PS5 ahead of the official launch. Players were also upset about reports that they needed a PS Plus account to use split-screen co-op(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-fans-can-relax-campaign-evolved-wont-require-ps-plus-for-split-screen/), but that turned out to not be the case. It's too soon to say how well Halo: Campaign Evolved will perform across all platforms, but the game's secret ending(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-campaign-evolved-secret-ending-seems-to-tease-a-halo-2-remake/) appears to tease a remake of Halo 2 as well. In the meantime, players can use these codes to claim free armor sets(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-campaign-evolved-codes-for-free-armor-sets/) in Campaign Evolved.

Nexus Mods Wants To Replace Modding Frustration With One-Click Simplicity

Nexus Mods Wants To Replace Modding Frustration With One-Click Simplicity

One of the best--and worst--things about PC gaming is the support for mods, allowing users to customize their games to an absurd degree. Installing a mod isn't always straightforward, and the more it remixes a game, the greater the chance of that title crashing, burning, and frustrating the user on the other end. Nexus Mods, one of the largest sites in the modding community, is aiming to fix that issue with a long-term plan to make mods easier to access and use. Following a change in leadership last year that saw Victor "Foledinho" Folmann take over, the current boss of the site has penned an open letter describing plans to change the very nature of how mods are presented, shared, and accessed on the longrunning site. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Batman-Dr-Pepper-Mod.jpg?w=636) Imagine a future where replacing batarangs in Batman: Arkham Knight with cans of Dr. Pepper is easier than ever. "For going on 25 years now, this platform has been modeling mods as files. Mods are not files. Mods are systems. With dependencies, with conflicts, with load orders, with versioning, with environments, all that complexity," Folmann wrote(https://www.nexusmods.com/news/15530). "Everything that has been making you angry over the years can be attributed to one factor: the platform models your mods as files. That changes. A platform that knows modding as systems. Where the difficult parts are done for you: dependency resolution, setup validation, and change deployment, making modding more reliable and easier to maintain for everyone." Folmann added that Nexus Mods will be aiming to make mods more accessible to users through a site that will be transformed into a platform for this kind of content, not just a storage hub for the files. Folmann is well aware of the challenges involved, and he added that he wants Nexus Mods to be "Spotify-easy" to use while also serving the community with "GitHub-powerful" toolsets. The site already offers the Vortex tools that creators say make it easier to install and maintain mods, and it's likely that Nexus Mods will expand on this software in the future. It's worth noting that Steam offers its own modding system that runs through its PC gaming client. Users have built custom maps, overhauled video game graphics, and even added new gameplay mods, with many popular games building active communities. The overall system generally runs like a well-oiled machine with automatic updates and easy installations. Overall, PC gamers have plenty of options, and it's those wonderfully weird mods(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/the-20-best-new-game-mods-of-2025/2900-7366/) that make games like Pragmata(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/best-pragmata-mods/2900-7682/), Crimson Desert(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/best-crimson-desert-mods/2900-7650/), and Paralives(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/best-paralives-mods-to-download-in-2026/) stand out on that platform. 52 Best Fallout 4 Mods In 2026 !4280223-f4.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4280223-f4.jpg?w=636) !4280225-f4.png(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4280225-f4.png?w=636) !4280227-ae.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4280227-ae.jpg?w=636) !FAllout-4-Mods(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/FAllout-4-Mods.jpg?w=636) !4558961-fallout4eyetrackingfix.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1757/17577455/4558961-fallout4eyetrackingfix.jpg?w=636) !4558963-fallout4reputation.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1757/17577455/4558963-fallout4reputation.jpg?w=636) !4280228-lm.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1745/17457013/4280228-lm.jpg?w=636) View Images(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/best-fallout-4-mods/2900-5217/)

Long-Awaited Co-Op Zombie Game Is Finally Arriving Next Month

Long-Awaited Co-Op Zombie Game Is Finally Arriving Next Month

Though No More Room In Hell 2(https://www.gamespot.com/games/no-more-room-in-hell-2/) has been playable via Steam and Epic's early-access programs for a while now, the 1.0 build is finally on the way, and it'll coincide with the game's launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. All of this arrives on August 11. The first-person zombie game is played on large, semi-open maps and built for teams of up to eight players. If you never played the original, think Left 4 Dead(https://www.gamespot.com/games/left-4-dead/), but slower and much harder. It's also less of a shooter than that genre titan, because making noise is sure to attract trouble you're better off avoiding with the use of the game's many melee weapons. Each round plays like a run with your chosen character, and you'll progress as you survive round after round--or you'll die mid-round (and permanently) and turn into a fast-moving zombie that chases down the team you left behind. The stakes are high. The game has seen its ups and downs so far on PC, as the team at Torn Banner (Chivalry 2) has tried to strike a balance in the game's difficulty while adding polish. This has resulted in only a "Mixed" rating from Steam users right now, but a lot of those issues have always seemed like growing pains to me, and hopefully these wrinkles are ironed out for the 1.0 release. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NMRIH2-Zombie-Combat-–-3840x2160300dpi.png?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NMRIH2-Subway-–-3840x2160300dpi.png?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NMRIH2-Squad-–-3840x2160300dpi.png?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NMRIH2-Hospital-–-3840x2160300dpi.png?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NMRIH2-Extraction-–-3840x2160300dpi.jpg?w=636) !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NMRIH2-Dismemberment-–-3840x2160300dpi.jpg?w=636) For what it may be worth, I love zombie games as much as anyone, and I've had a lot of fun with this one. I've only not sunk many more hours into it yet because I've been waiting for this 1.0 version. Based on what I've played in the past, I already count No More Room In Hell 2 as one of the best zombie games(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/best-zombie-games-of-all-time/2900-4873/), and I'm hoping the 1.0 build further cements it in that conversation. New with this upcoming build is a risk-free solo mode, which doesn't apply the game's permadeath system you'll have to contend with otherwise, as well as a training ground so you can learn the game before you put your character on the line. There's also a new wave-based Survival mode that some players tried out during a free weekend preview earlier this year.  Several maps have been expanded, and character customization will be deeper than you're used to if you've played any of the game's earlier versions. No More Room In Hell 2 will feature cross-play for all systems, and the team has addressed "over 8,000 bugs" for the 1.0 launch. It'll go for $30 with preorders and "launch" period sale pricing on offer for those who jump in early.
