Dead By Daylight Is Giving Out Free Codes For Its Next Chapter
Dead by Daylight(https://www.gamespot.com/games/dead-by-daylight/)'s next chapter, Chorus of Sin, is a "community-driven" event that kicks off at the end of August, but you can start playing it up to a month early by winning yourself an early-access code. Starting July 30, Dead by Daylight content creators will stream the new Chorus of Sin chapter on Twitch, and tuning in for at least an hour will place you in a drawing that will randomly select winners. Those lucky players will receive Steam codes via email to play the next chapter ahead of its August 25 public date. It'll even get you in before the private test build launches on August 5. The early-access windows will be limited and spread across the next several days. Halo: Campaign Evolved On PC Has A Hidden Feature You Need A Mod To Access
This week, PlayStation 5 players were able to join their Xbox and PC counterparts for the first time in Halo: Campaign Evolved(https://www.gamespot.com/?shadowgame=halo-campaign-evolved). Console gamers are able to use a classic Halo feature that the PC port seemingly lacks: split-screen co-op. However, a new PC mod restores access to this missing feature. A Halo: Campaign Evolved split-screen co-op mod was posted on Nexus Mods(https://www.pcgamer.com/games/halo/mod-activates-split-screen-support-in-halo-campaign-evolved-pc-thats-just-sitting-there-unused/) by user Jpurd. As noted by Jpurd, the mod doesn't do anything except unlock the local split-screen option that was already in the game. There are some drawbacks to this AI-created mod. It can only handle two players via split-screen mode even though the game can support 4-player co-op. Users also note that it only works if both players are using a controller, and the mod may be limited to Steam users. Anyone playing Campaign Evolved on PC Game Pass or who purchased a copy from the Microsoft Store may not be able to use the mod at all. Nexus Mods Wants To Replace Modding Frustration With One-Click Simplicity
One of the best--and worst--things about PC gaming is the support for mods, allowing users to customize their games to an absurd degree. Installing a mod isn't always straightforward, and the more it remixes a game, the greater the chance of that title crashing, burning, and frustrating the user on the other end. Nexus Mods, one of the largest sites in the modding community, is aiming to fix that issue with a long-term plan to make mods easier to access and use. Long-Awaited Co-Op Zombie Game Is Finally Arriving Next Month
Though No More Room In Hell 2(https://www.gamespot.com/games/no-more-room-in-hell-2/) has been playable via Steam and Epic's early-access programs for a while now, the 1.0 build is finally on the way, and it'll coincide with the game's launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. All of this arrives on August 11. The first-person zombie game is played on large, semi-open maps and built for teams of up to eight players. If you never played the original, think Left 4 Dead(https://www.gamespot.com/games/left-4-dead/), but slower and much harder. It's also less of a shooter than that genre titan, because making noise is sure to attract trouble you're better off avoiding with the use of the game's many melee weapons. Each round plays like a run with your chosen character, and you'll progress as you survive round after round--or you'll die mid-round (and permanently) and turn into a fast-moving zombie that chases down the team you left behind. The stakes are high. The game has seen its ups and downs so far on PC, as the team at Torn Banner (Chivalry 2) has tried to strike a balance in the game's difficulty while adding polish.
