🟩 Xbox, Multi-platformNFL Team Reveals Schedule With Halo After Using Minecraft Last Year
It's another year, and that means another hilarious NFL release schedule video from the Los Angeles Chargers based on a video game. This time, the football organization utilized Halo Infinite(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/halo-infinite-multiplayer-review-i-need-a-weapon/1900-6417793/) to reveal its 18-week schedule that begins this September and runs through January 2027. The social media team with the Chargers worked with Xbox to make the video(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjP6J-vpbmo)--seen below--in Halo Infinite's Forge mode. In fact, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma responded on X(https://x.com/ashashar/status/2055094797355171918) with three lightning bolt emojis to the Chargers post(https://x.com/chargers/status/2055068428978004027?refsrc=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2055068428978004027%7Ctwgr%5Ec9489edf1dd2192bc38a2cbdea7469d283ddc271%7Ctwcon%5Es1&refurl=https%3A%2F%2Finsider-gaming.com%2Flos-angeles-chargers-use-halo-to-announce-their-schedule%2F), showcasing her support of the creative reveal. Each weekly matchup is teased on the Mission Select screen to start, with opponents getting fresh maps in Halo. There's a cool custom boat created, for example, to preview the team's matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 13. > should we REALLY make our schedule release video in halo? > yes yes yesyes > yesyes yes yes yes > yes yes yes yes yes > yes yesyes yes yes > yes yesye yes yes > yes yes yesyes pic.twitter.com/eusK9QmNGd(https://t.co/eusK9QmNGd) > > — Los Angeles Chargers (@chargers) May 14, 2026(https://twitter.com/chargers/status/2055068428978004027?refsrc=twsrc%5Etfw) This is the second year in a row that the Chargers have utilized an Xbox property for the schedule unveiling(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/this-nfl-team-used-minecraft-to-reveal-their-schedule-after-utilizing-sims-2-last-year/1100-6531557/), as the team used Minecraft last year. 🎮 PlayStation, Xbox, Multi-platformOnly Three Years Later, A Good Racing Game Is Being Delisted And Shutting Down Servers
It's the end of the road for Lego 2K Drive. Developer Visual Concepts has announced that the game, released in 2023 to good reviews, will be delisted on May 19 with its multiplayer servers going offline on May 31, 2027. After that, "All game functions requiring online servers will no longer function," the developer said. The game's store pages across PC(https://store.steampowered.com/app/1451810/LEGO2KDrive/), PlayStation(https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/lego-2k-drive/), and Xbox(https://clicks.trx-hub.com/xid/fandom32094gamespot?q=https%3A%2F%2Fgo.skimresources.com%3Fid%3D225336X1707200%26xs%3D1%26xcust%3Dsubidvalue%26url%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.xbox.com%252Fen-us%252Fgames%252Fstore%252Flego-2k-drive-for-xbox-one%252F9PNH6BGC71FP&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamespot.com%2Ffeeds%2Fnews%2F&eventtype=click) disclosed the forthcoming changes, but the eShop page(https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/lego-2k-drive-switch/?srsltid=AfmBOop6tkafdTaIzXBsBWcGwt5UeGCnMUAExxi4Fg6aXa2kpTTS7CT) doesn't mention anything about delisting and server shutdown. Lego 2K Drive was released on May 19, 2023, so the delisting date is exactly three years later. 2K has not disclosed why Lego 2K Drive is being delisted and losing multiplayer support, but some suspect it has to do with licenses and small player populations. Hours after a smaller Xbox Cloud Gaming controller appeared online, Brazil's Anatel regulator has also accidentally published images of what appears to be Microsoft's upcoming Xbox Elite 3 controller. 🟩 Xbox, Multi-platformYou Don’t Need An Expensive PC Or Console To Play Subnautica 2
After years of development and behind-the-scenes controversy, Subnautica 2 from developer Unknown Worlds is out now in early access. If you're curious about the game but don't have an Xbox or a PC powerful enough, there is another way to play it--by streaming it to a device you already own via Nvidia GeForce now or Microsoft's cloud gaming service. For GeForce Now, you still have to buy the game and then subscribe to the service to play it. There is a free tier of the service, but it limits you to one-hour sessions, has ads, caps you at 1080p/60fps, and streams from a "basic" rig. Alternatively, you can pay $10/month for no ads and streaming from a GeForce RTX rig with six-hour sessions and up to 1440p/60fps. There is also an Ultimate tier of GeForce Now ($20/month) that has no ads, eight-hour sessions, and up to 5K/360fps. Go to the GeForce Now website(https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/) to learn more. Alternatively, Subnautica 2 is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ($23/month(https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/subnautica-2-game-preview/9N4CGTV96750/0010)) and that includes cloud streaming support, allowing you to beam the game to your computer, phone, tablet, or an older Xbox. There are no time limits for Game Pass Ultimate members, and the streaming quality goes up to 1440p/60fps. Like the PC edition, Subnautica 2 on Xbox represents an in-development version of the game in Microsoft's Game Preview program. Subnautica 2 is not available on PlayStation 5, nor has the game been announced for Sony's platform. It may eventually come to PS5, as the 2018 game landed on PS4 and later PS5, while 2021's Subnautica: Below Zero came to those platforms as well. There is no version of Subnautica 2 for Switch or Switch 2. Subnautica 2 is having a banger of a start on Steam, as the game is currently Steam's No. 1 best-selling game(https://store.steampowered.com/charts/) and its No. 3 overall most-played game currently(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-overcomes-pre-release-controversy-to-become-massive-hit-on-steam/1100-6539956/), with more than 440,000 concurrent users. The game is also available on the Epic Games Store, along with Xbox, so it's no doubt reaching many more people. It's still early, but Subnautica already has a "Very Positive" aggregate rating on Steam from more than 1,800 user reviews. There is no word yet on when the game's 1.0 release may come, however. Regarding the controversy surrounding the game, Unknown Worlds and owner Krafton were embroiled in a legal battle regarding, among other things, a huge bonus payment for senior executives at Unknown Worlds. As part of this, Unknown Worlds CEO Ted Gill was ousted, but a court ruling later forced Krafton(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-publisher-forced-to-reinstate-fired-ceo-judge-blames-kraftons-chatgpt-legal-advice/1100-6538819/) to reinstate Gill and allow Unknown Worlds to go ahead with releasing the game on its schedule. If you're just getting started with Subnautica 2, be sure to consult some of GameSpot's Subnautica 2 guides(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-guides-hub/1100-6539935/).
🟩 Xbox, Multi-platformLeaked images show Microsoft’s new Xbox Cloud Gaming controller
I revealed earlier this year that Microsoft was working on a new Xbox controller that includes Wi-Fi to connect direct to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers. Best Buy Might Have Leaked That Grand Theft Auto 6 Preorders Will Go Live On Monday
!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2025/05/06/6aaf1231/vicecity01.jpg.webp) Grand Theft Auto VI(https://gameinformer.com/product/grand-theft-auto-vi) is set to launch on November 19(https://gameinformer.com/2025/11/06/grand-theft-auto-vi-release-date-delayed-to-november-2026) on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It's been over a year since the last trailer(https://gameinformer.com/2025/05/06/rockstar-just-unveiled-the-second-grand-theft-auto-vi-trailer), and fans are clamoring for new information every day. While there's no news of a trailer on the horizon, preorders might be going live next week, at least according to leaked affiliate information from retailer Best Buy. Over on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit(https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/), there's a popular post(https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1tclmls/bestbuymayhaveslippedupgta6preorders/?utmsource=share&utmmedium=web3x&utmname=web3xcss&utmterm=1&utmcontent=sharebutton) gathering various posts from Best Buy affiliates (content creators that get cuts of sales when players use their code to purchase something from the store online) who claim to have received an email that reveals preorders for Grand Theft Auto VI might go live next week. Specifically, the Best Buy emails these creators have received show a 5% earnings (or maybe discount – the email isn't super clear) rate for a campaign called "GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)" with a duration of "May 18, 2026 - May 21, 2026," meaning preorders could go live on Monday. !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/14/16fe333b/emailgta6.jpg.webp) Frogboyx1Gaming on X A screenshot of the email Best Buy affiliate users are reportedly receiving While it's best to remain cautious, especially with anything pertaining to Rockstar Games, more and more creators are discovering this affiliate email in their inboxes – the GamingLeaksAndRumours post is rounding them up as they come in with photo and video proof. Even popular video game deals accounts, like Cheap Ass Gamer over on X(https://x.com/videogamedeals/status/2054781336468992335?s=20), have received the Best Buy affiliate account email, further proving that the emails with the details are real and not a fabrication. Now, of course, it's important to point out that just because Best Buy apparently has an affiliate sales campaign starting Monday for Grand Theft Auto VI, it doesn't mean preorders for the game will go live next week. This could be a mistake or misprint from Best Buy – fortunately, we seemingly won't have to wait long to find out. In the meantime, check out the latest Grand Theft Auto VI trailer(https://gameinformer.com/2025/05/06/rockstar-shows-off-six-major-areas-of-vice-city-in-grand-theft-auto-vi), and then read about these nine characters you'll meet in Vice City(https://gameinformer.com/2025/05/06/rockstar-details-nine-of-grand-theft-auto-vis-presumably-many-many-characters) this November. !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/13/2609732f/AC%20Treasure%20Hunt%20Header.jpg.webp) Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced(https://gameinformer.com/product/assassins-creed-black-flag-resynced) launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 9, and ahead of the game's release, Ubisoft has launched a real-life hunt for a $500,000 treasure out there somewhere in the Caribbean. Before you make way, though, you bloomin' cockroaches, understand that you'll need to pay at least $40 to participate in the hunt. This treasure hunt is a result of a collaboration with real-world scavenger hunt maker Unsolved Hunts, and in order to get started, you'll need to pay for clues, starting with the Deckhand pack that you can purchase for $39.99; it comes with a digital version of the treasure hunt game, which includes clues, rules, and more. However, you can pay more at various tiers for additional goodies, like a physical version of the game, a themed notebook, other pirate games, and more. There's even a Pirate Lord tier that costs $229.99 that includes the physical and digital version of the treasure hunt game, a themed notebook, the pirate strategy game Chaotic Armada, the investigation game Amelia Davies and the Treasure of Blackbeard, one real gold coin minted for the hunt, Captain Edward Kenway's flag, and a seal, wax, and calligraphy set. To find the treasure, you'll need to solve 15 riddles; Ubisoft and Unsolved Hunts expect players to spend up to five years trying to accomplish this. Only one player will ultimately find the chest in the Caribbean and win the game. You can find more details about this treasure hunt from Unsolved Hunts here(https://goldandcrystal.us/). Discord Partners With Xbox, Bringing Game Pass To Nitro Subscribers
!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/11/e44a6bc3/xbox-game-passdiscord-nitrofinal511-ff69e5bb4ba1fe856123.jpg.webp) Discord launched its Nitro subscription almost 10 years ago, and it's changed a lot over the years. While its current tiers mainly offer users more emojis, higher quality streaming, and generally more customization options, it used to include complementary games, but that perk was discontinued in 2019. Today, the company announced plans to revive that idea and partner with Xbox and provide Game Pass for Nitro users – kind of. According to a blog post on Discord's website, the new program is called Nitro Rewards(https://discord.com/blog/nitro-rewards), and it's exactly what it sounds like – perks for Discord's paid subscribers. Discord describes today's announcement as the "first wave," with more benefits to come at a later date. The first perk is access to Xbox Game Pass. Discord describes the level of access as "a starter version" of the service, which seems to line up with Game Pass Essential, as it includes "a library of 50+ PC and console games." This tier includes a fraction of the titles available on Game Pass' higher tiers (which have 200+ and 500+, respectively), but as a benefit to Nitro subscribers at no extra cost, it's a pretty good deal. !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/11/027f10b6/nitrorewards.png.webp) Nitro Rewards also includes discounts on certain Logitech products, with subscribers getting "up to 30% off at Logitech G, 15% off SteelSeries, and 20% off KontrolFreek, with new offers rotating regularly." Finally, Nitro subscribers will also get bonus Orbs each month and an Orbs multiplier, meaning they'll get more Orbs for completing quests. The blog closes with a disclaimer that features will be rolling out gradually "over the coming weeks," so you might not see them right away, but they'll probably be showing up soon. On the flipside, an Xbox Wire post(https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2026/05/11/xbox-game-pass-and-discord-partnership-announce/) about the same subject announced an inverted version of the deal; Game Pass subscribers will soon get certain Discord Nitro benefits. More specifically, they'll get 250 Discord Orbs each month, 1.2x extra Orbs when completing quests, and automatically applied Discord Shop discounts, which sounds like the new Nitro Rewards Orb upgrades. In other Xbox news, the highest tier, Game Pass Ultimate, recently decreased in price(https://gameinformer.com/2026/04/21/xbox-drops-prices-for-game-pass-ultimate-and-pc-game-pass-but-new-call-of-duty-games), and Copilot AI will no longer be coming to consoles(https://gameinformer.com/2026/05/05/microsoft-copilot-will-no-longer-come-to-consoles-says-xbox-ceo).
