!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/05/bafd4ddd/alien01.jpg.webp) Creative Assembly, the developer behind Alien Isolation, confirmed it was working on a sequel back in April(https://www.gameinformer.com/2026/04/27/were-finally-getting-a-sequel-to-alien-isolation-12-years-later), but today during Summer Game Fest, we learned the game's official title and saw some footage of the game. The game seems to take place on land (as opposed to in space) and where the Xenomorph is unleashed on an unsuspecting colony called Kurosaki Station. The game does not yet have a release date, but it is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2. !(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/05/bafd4ddd/alien01.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/05/21217d08/alien02.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/05/8f49ce21/alien03.jpg.webp)
Resident Evil: Veronica Is A Code Veronica Remake And It Launches Next Year
!Resident Evil: Veronica Reveal Trailer Remake Capcom 2027(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/05/0245e4a4/veronica01.jpg.webp) Capcom has revealed Resident Evil: Veronica, a remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, and it's launching next year, presumably on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. It was revealed during today's Summer Game Fest showcase, and it follows Capcom's most recent Resident Evil remake, 2023's Resident Evil 4 remake. The original Resident Evil – Code: Veronica is a bit of an in-between game that takes place after Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (but was released after Nemesis). It originally launched in 2000 and received the HD treatment in 2011. Given Capcom's track record remaking its Resident Evil games of late, this remake wasn't all that unexpected. But it's still exciting nonetheless. And surprise: it looks gorgeous, like all of the other Resident Evil remakes. Check it out in the Resident Evil: Veronica reveal trailer for yourself below: This remake seems to be following the original game closely, with Clair Redfield heading to Paris, France, to infiltrate an Umbrella Corporation facility and rescue her brother, Chris Redfield. Resident Evil shenanigans ensue, and it's a great time. Resident Evil: Veronica is due out sometime next year.

🎮 PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Multi-platformRayman Legends Retold remake confirmed by Ubisoft
Rayman Legends Retold is a full remake of Ubisoft's 2013 platformer, complete with a new world and a revamped art style.
Rayman Legends: Retold Is A Remake Of Rayman's Best Adventure And It Launches This October On PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, And PC
!Rayman Legends Retold Ubisoft Remake(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/28/b27a23e6/assets2026051779694368rlrkeyart16x90602263pmpt.jpg.webp) Ubisoft has revealed Rayman Legends Retold, a 3D remake of 2013's Rayman Legends, and it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on October 1. Don't let "3D" scare you – it still looks and plays like the original 2D platformer, but with newly updated 3D visuals courtesy of Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine, used for games like Star Wars Outlaws and The Division 2. In congruency, this 3D remake of a 2D game makes Retold a 2.5D platformer. I traveled to Montpellier, France, to visit Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio that created Rayman and is working as lead developer on this remake alongside Ubisoft Milan, to play roughly two hours of Retold. I played through the first two worlds – Old Teensie Kingdom and The Stinkbog – tried out the new Star Fox-esque dragon-riding levels, got a quick look at the returning-from-Rayman-Origins-but-new-to-Legends-Retold Land of the Dead world, and even played through two new music levels. Rayman Legends is one of my favorite platformers, and though I am still conflicted on Ubisoft leaving behind its beautiful hand-drawn animated visuals of the original 2D adventure, I can't deny that I had a blast playing Retold; I even grew quite fond of the 3D visual style, and that's because of a thoughtful design approach to updating the visuals. Yes, it's now in 3D but it still contains the whimsical fantasy of Legends' 2D style, now with additional fore-and-background details that add welcome touches of staging to each level. But first, check out the Rayman Legends Retold trailer for yourself below to get a look at its new art: Like the original, Retold will feature 1 to 4-player couch co-op in the campaign, with playable characters Rayman, Globox, Teensy, and Barbara returning but with updated visual styles to transition them from 2D to 3D models. Plus, Kung-Foot returns with its simple but fun Smash Bros. meets soccer gameplay. Despite Retold looking quite different to the original Legends, I'm happy to report that it plays identically, and that's because under the hood of the 3D staging is still the same 2D bones that felt great in 2013. Of course, tweaks here and there and quality-of-life updates make it feel all the better, but trust that Retold will retain the gameplay that makes Legends so great. Ubisoft Montpellier developers even showed us the 2D engine running under the 3D visuals, highlighting how the art and level design teams have worked hard to use interesting and unique visual tricks to make a 3D-looking game play like a 2D one, hence the 2.5D feel. The parallax scrolling is an especially pleasant addition, adding environmental depth to the platforming gauntlets throughout Retold. It's an especially fun effect in the new dragon-riding levels, which connect the end of one world with the beginning of the next. They play like fantasy-flavored Star Fox missions, where you control the dragon like a starship, shooting fireballs at enemies and obstacles alike in your way. Unlike the standard platforming levels of Retold, where Rayman is looking to collect kidnapped Teensies on the way to the end, each dragon begins with every teensie of the level on their back; your goal is to reach the end without losing any, but each time you take damage, one falls off. You can also hold down a button to make the dragons fart, though I wasn't able to discern if this did anything at all (other than make me chuckle because I am a child). !Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/28/ff5013a7/rlrtntdragonride0602263pmpt.jpg.webp) Returning music levels, like the "Black Betty" one, remain a highlight of the remade Legends adventure, as do the new additions. And though I lamented the new songs selected for these levels – one is the "Macarena", which begins in a Mexican festival-themed level before strangely becoming an old-world Italian restaurant stage – it's still a great time speeding through levels while jumping, punching, and gliding to the beat of a real-world track. For all the greatness of Legends, its finale sucks (something a producer at the studio agreed with me on), and Ubisoft Montpellier is tackling that issue head-on with a brand new villain. However, their likeness remains a mystery to me, save for purple glowing eyes, a black shroud, and the ability to corrupt enemies with magic. I'm excited to see what depth, if any, this villain adds to the entire Retold package. At the very least, I hope they make for a more satisfying and climactic conclusion to an otherwise excellent platforming adventure. There's a lot more new in Retold, including additional tracks from famed composer Grant Kirkhope, and I dive into all of that, as well as exclusive insight from Ubisoft Montpellier art directors, producers, animators, and more, in my six-page feature on Retold in the next issue of Game Informer. Keep an eye out for it there if you're a subscriber, and if you're not, head here(https://www.gameinformer.com/subscribe) to do so before it's too late. Rayman Legends Retold launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on October 1. 🎮 PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Multi-platformDon’t Have a Switch 2 To Play Star Fox? Try This Upcoming PS5 And Xbox Game Instead
If you're yearning for a modern reinterpretation of Star Fox's rail-shooter gameplay but don't own a Switch 2 to play the upcoming remake(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/star-fox-buying-guide/1100-6539831/), then you'll want to consider playing Wild Blue Skies. Developed by Chuhai Labs and published by Balor Games, the game got a release date during today's The Mix Summer Game Showcase. Specifically, Wild Blue Skies will be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 13. Like Star Fox, it's a sci-fi rail shooter starring anthropomorphic animals. In this case, players control a dog named Bowie Stray who is on a mission with the Blue Bombers to stop Grimclaw (this game's version of Andross). They do so during on-rails missions where players have to fly across alien planets and deal with whatever obstacles or gimmicks each level throws at them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdRggRKhNMk There's a free demo of Wild Blue Skies you can try on Steam(https://store.steampowered.com/app/1921490/WildBlueSkies/). When you play it, you'll find that it's a very polished spiritual successor to classic games like Star Fox. It doesn't reinvent the genre, but at the time of its reveal, it did not need to. When Wild Blue Skies was first announced last year, the Star Fox series had been missing in action for several years as Nintendo did not seem interested in continuing it. The game also had the pedigree of being worked on by Giles Goddard(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/former-star-fox-dev-is-releasing-a-spiritual-successor/1100-6536486/), one of the programmers of the original Star Fox. That changed in April, when Nintendo revealed a Star Fox 64 remake for Nintendo Switch 2, simply titled Star Fox(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/star-fox-on-switch-2-isnt-just-a-retread-its-a-fresh-start/1100-6539843/). That game is out on June 25, beating Wild Blue Skies to the punch by about a month and a half. Still, Wild Blue Skies won't have its thunder completely stolen, as it's not coming out on any Nintendo systems. When it comes out on August 13, Wild Blue Skies can serve as a nice alternative for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players who can't play the new Star Fox. Perhaps both of these games can kick off a renaissance for the rail shooter genre as a whole.

Slots &38; Daggers, a low-key, fantasy-themed slot machine roguelike, was one of my favorite games last year. That may sound like a complicated description, but the game mixes ideas from deckbuilding roguelikes with slot machines to create an engrossing loop, and there's steady meta-progression that helps you push further with just about every run. 007 First Light Has Already Sold Over A Million Copies
!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/26/64d28283/2bond.jpg.webp) 007 First Light launched only two days ago, on May 27, but the latest James Bond game is already performing well. Developer IO Interactive announced(https://bsky.app/profile/007game.ioi.dk/post/3mmwmbilcci2i) yesterday that the game has surpassed one million copies sold. To be more exact, it has sold 1.5 million copies as of May 28, roughly 24 hours after it launched. The impressive launch sales pair with a positive critical reception, including an 8.75 out of 10 from us at Game Informer(https://gameinformer.com/review/007-first-light/cinematic-flair). 007 First Light is an original Bond story detailing the origins of the agent who becomes 007. The game comes from Hitman developer IO Interactive, and is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A Switch 2 version is scheduled to launch later this year. 🎮 PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Multi-platformCall of Duty's free-to-play version is shutting down on PS4, Xbox One
Call of Duty: Warzone will no longer be playable on PS4 and Xbox One with the launch of Modern Warfare 4 in October, Activision confirms.
🟩 Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Multi-platformModern Warfare 4 On Switch 2 Has Been “So Smooth” For Infinity Ward
Infinity Ward is bringing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/infinity-ward-makes-key-improvements-to-the-formula-with-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4/) to Nintendo Switch 2, and that's a big deal since the CoD franchise hasn't been on a Nintendo platform since 2013. Infinity Ward co-studio head Jack O'Hara discussed the process of bringing MW4 to Switch 2 with a native version, saying it's been "so smooth." This came after former Xbox boss Phil Spencer said there was "definitely"(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/getting-call-of-duty-on-switch-would-definitely-require-some-work-phil-spencer-says/1100-6509798/) work that needed to be done to get Call of Duty running on Switch. "The game got up and running on the platform really quickly once we got the hardware. So far it's been really good. To be honest, it's been really fun to be on a new platform," O'Hara told GamesRadar(https://www.gamesradar.com/games/call-of-duty/right-now-we-support-crossplay-between-switch-2-and-the-rest-of-the-platforms-modern-warfare-4-ends-the-13-year-wait-for-call-of-duty-to-return-to-nintendo-hardware/) about bringing MW4 to Switch 2. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CODMW4.jpg?w=1024) Also in the interview, O'Hara confirmed that cross-play between Switch 2 and the other console platforms and PC is currently supported, but, "We'll see at launch exactly where the mix ends up." The Switch 2 is a relatively less powerful console than the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it remains to be seen what concessions the Nintendo console version will have. Microsoft, which owns Activision and the Call of Duty franchise, first confirmed plans to bring Call of Duty to Switch in 2023 as a means to appease regulators and get its blockbuster deal for Activision across the line. At the time, Microsoft pledged(https://x.com/BradSmi/status/1629180356359495680) that Call of Duty releases on Switch would arrive "the same day as Xbox, with full features and content parity." The last time a Call of Duty game came to a Nintendo platform was in 2013 with the Wii U edition of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Ghosts. MW4 is launching on October 23 for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It is not coming to PS4 and Xbox One. Preorders are open now, but not on Switch 2(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/preorder-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-vault-edition-and-save-10/). Activision has also confirmed a "Loyalty" discount for MW4(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-has-a-loyalty-discount-for-the-vault-edition-heres-how-to-get-it/) that allows people to get 10% off the game's Vault edition.
