🎮 Multi-platformDestiny 2 Is Getting Last Content Update Soon As Bungie Moves Onto Its Next Big Game
Nearly nine years after its release, live service support for Destiny 2(https://www.gamespot.com/games/destiny-2/) is coming to an end. Bungie has announced that it plans to release the last content update for the online shooter on June 9, 2026. In ablog post(https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/d2may212026), Bungie explained that after the game's last big expansion, The Final Shape, it felt that it had reached time on the stories it wanted to tell with Destiny 2. Content for Destiny 2 had been trickling in at a slower pace after Bungie focused more on releasing its extraction shooter, Marathon(https://www.gamespot.com/games/marathon/), with more time now being spent on determining what the studio's next game will be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnsVFF6lfeE "As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games," the post reads. "To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio." Bungie has reassured fans that Destiny 2 won't be going offline, with the studio planning to continue supporting it to ensure it remains playable and welcoming to new and old players alike. The blog post did not specify if previously vaulted content would be returning, however. Bungie's latest title, the PS5 and PC shooter Marathon, is being significantly changed soon with theintroduction of a PvE mode(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/bungie-is-looking-to-expand-marathons-appeal-with-chill-new-pve-modes/1100-6539987/), in an attempt to attract players that might not be as enthusiastic about the game's highly competitive PvP action. Bungie was acquired by Sony(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/bungie-acquired-by-sony-for-3-6-billion/1100-6500122/) in July 2022 for $3.6 billion, with the PlayStation 5 manufacturer shifting its strategy away from live service titles significantly since then.
Eleven Games From The 2026 Six One Indie Showcase We Added To Our Steam Wishlists
!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/21/220afe56/sixoneindieheader.jpg.webp) As much as I love a huge showcase reveal for a game I've been looking forward to, there's a special place in my heart for indie game showcases, giving me a look at hidden gems I wasn't aware of. The Six One indie showcase is a great avenue for that, and today's livestream was no exception. The whole event is worth a watch if you're curious(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2b6H2dyUsw) about some unique upcoming indie projects, but these were our favorites. !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/3a576119/blueridgehuntingjadecompanykeyartapr22-jademeadows.jpg.webp) Blue Ridge Hunting Developer: Jade Meadows Horror and low-poly aesthetics go together like peanut butter and jelly. This co-op cryptid hunting game marries the two to seemingly great effect while also telling a story about the quest to track down Mothman. It's currently in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign, which you can support here(http://blueridgehunting.com/kickstarter). It also has a demo available right now(https://store.steampowered.com/app/2434930/BlueRidgeHunting/). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/9e578be3/feathersedgeclockworkacornkeyart-full2026-04-15-francoisvanniekerk.jpg.webp) Feather’s Edge Developer: Clockwork Acorn This Outersloth-published Metroidvania puts you in the shoes (or talons) of a bird who can shoot across the screen, piercing foes with their beak. It's a unique take on combat, rewarding combos and efficient strikes, and it's got a great cartoony-yet-intricate art style as well. Its playtest is starting soon, and you can sign up to participate on the game's Steam page(https://store.steampowered.com/app/3804760/FeathersEdge/). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/c9d3e6fe/thewellsblessingbigstretchkeyart-full15.03.2026-bigstretch.jpg.webp) The Well's Blessing Developer: Big Stretch I simply can't deny this game's vibes. Maybe it's the pixelated 3D graphics, the relaxing soundtrack, or the babbling sound effect that plays during the dialogue. Whatever the case, I just want a minute or two to sit in the world of The Well's Blessing and soak it all in. For now, I guess I'll just add it to my Steam wishlist(https://store.steampowered.com/app/3637250/TheWellsBlessing/) and get hyped for the demo coming on June 3rd. !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/fbfe6744/midnighthorde4kkeyartwithlogo-perfornander.jpg.webp) Midnight Horde Developer: Carry Castle To put it simply, Midnight Horde looks like Vampire Survivors if you were doing parkour the whole time. You gain upgrades to your magic abilities to fend off dense waves of enemies, but between encounters, you construct the town's gothic architecture to best support your strategies. I've got no idea how it feels to play, but it looks so bonkers that I can't wait to try it, and I don't have to – there's a demo live right now(https://store.steampowered.com/app/3360800/MidnightHordeDemo/). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/6c5c19f0/blocksforbabiesbunksoftinteractivekeyart-full04152026-noahritz.jpg.webp) Blocks for Babies Developer: BunkSoft Interactive I'll admit that sometimes Tetris makes me mad, but I've never thought about shooting the blocks with a gun. If you have, you'll love Blocks for Babies, a game with as much tonal whiplash with its theme as it has in its gameplay. Match bright, silly blocks until you can't anymore. Then, you transition into a Doom-style FPS to blast away the squares (which are fleshy and gross on the sides, by the way) that refuse to clear away. If you want to check it out, there's a demo available now(https://store.steampowered.com/app/2776770/BlocksforBabies/). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/069b260c/forkliftflowerpotmichaelmatokeyart-full04-17-2026-michaelmato.jpg.webp) Forklift Flowerpot: Botanical Investigator Developer: Michael Mato, Too Much Tomato Inhabiting this game's titular contraption is odd enough, but throw in a 3D art style made from 2D sprites, a season-changing mechanic, and a mystery pieced together like a web of red yarn on a corkboard, and Forklift Flowerpot really grabbed my attention. The developer describing it as "an Outer Wilds-like mystery" is the icing on the cake that made me add this one to my wishlist(https://store.steampowered.com/app/2073330/FORKLIFTFLOWERPOTBotanicalInvestigator/). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/2b70b87a/graytailconcodekeyart-full04152026-devconcode.jpg.webp) Graytail Developer: Concode The trailer for this game aired during the block dedicated to Zelda-likes, so I was surprised to see its aesthetics fit more of a horror-noir vibe. You play as a man with what looks like a decidedly mundane arsenal of weapons and tools, including a cane, an umbrella, and a crossbow. As someone who plays a lot of games, I really enjoy seeing one that defies genre in so many ways, so I'll be keeping an eye on Graytail. Luckily for me, there's a demo available now(https://store.steampowered.com/app/2888960/Graytail/). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/969a3af3/pleaseinsertdiscnightsignalentertainmentkeyart4-15-2026-nicklives.jpg.webp) Please Insert Disc Developer: Night Signal Entertainment What if the liminal ether that is the PS2 startup screen was an entire game? Please Insert Disc reimagines a 2002-era gaming home screen as an interactive horror experience, with a fittingly cryptic trailer that leaves me endlessly curious for what else the final game has in store. For now, I'll add it to my wishlist(https://store.steampowered.com/app/2855360/PleaseInsertDisc/) and hope to learn more soon. !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/6635263a/sloppyforgeriesplayfulsystemskeyart-full04-14-26-jonahwarren.jpg.webp) Sloppy Forgeries Developer: Playful Systems Sloppy Forgeries turns paintings into a party game, with local multiplayer that puts players head-to-head as they rush to recreate famous works of art as accurately as possible. Both you and a rival will wield a mouse to repaint iconic paintings like the Mona Lisa or Starry Night with hasty pixels. It looks like the kind of game I love, where even if you do poorly, it's funny enough that it's easy to have fun with. I'll be adding it my wishlist(https://store.steampowered.com/app/3030560/SloppyForgeries/) and looking to buy a second mouse. !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/af5683b8/b-e-e-t-l-eberightbackpaulandvivkeyart-full14042026-paulandviv.jpg.webp) b-e-e-t-l-e: be right back! Developer: Paul and Viv I have a hunch b-e-e-t-l-e isn't going to come to console any time soon, because its core gameplay is designed around creative use of the keyboard. You'll type letters to interact with the world, play music, clear obstacles, and talk to other pixelated critters. A different puzzle even makes use of keyboard shortcuts, using ctrl+c to copy an item to share with some snails. It's got no launch window, but you can wishlist it on Steam(https://store.steampowered.com/app/3993200/beetleberightback/). !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/2026/05/21/b0036b61/graveseasonsperfectgarbagekeyart-full04152026-alannasmith.jpg.webp) Grave Seasons Developer: Perfect Garbage We did a deep-dive interview with the developers of Grave Seasons in the last issue of Game Informer(https://gameinformer.com/feature/2026/05/12/reaping-sowing), and this new trailer shows the cozy/creepy vibe just as unsettling as we remembered. The standout news here, however, is the announcement that the game is getting a demo in just a few weeks, on June 15, so keep an eye on the Steam page(https://store.steampowered.com/app/3255110/GraveSeasons/). For the full lineup of games, you can watch the showcase on YouTube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2b6H2dyUsw) or head straight to the source and check them out on Steam(https://store.steampowered.com/news/group/45119430/view/719028498906219482).
🎮 Multi-platformJames Bond’s Omega from 007 First Light Is Now A Real Watch You Probably Can’t Afford
Back when IO's James Bond adventure, 007 First Light(https://www.gamespot.com/games/007-first-light/), was first revealed, eagle-eyed watch enthusiasts immediately noticed the new Omega watch that this latest iteration of the MI6 spy was wearing. That watch wasn't real then but now, on the eve of the game's release, Omega has started selling the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light(https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/seamaster/diver-300-m/007-first-light/product). And no, it's not cheap. This iteration of the existing Seamaster Diver Chronograph mirrors the contemporary version quite closely, but adds some places of bronze to the dial to set it apart and tie it to the color palette of the game. The ring around the hour and minutes sub-dial, as well as the seconds hand, are now coated in nine-karat bronze gold, which makes it stand out a lot more than the regular, monochromatic version. You'll be able to see 007 First Light stamped on the sapphire crystal caseback, which showcases the watch's beautiful movement. This edition doesn't have a premium over the standard version, although given that this watch will still retail for $9,400, it's not something all fans of First Light are likely going to bundle with their game purchase. It's also the first time Omega has released a Bond-specific watch that wasn't first seen in a Bond film. James Bond has worn Omega since GoldenEye in 1995(https://www.omegawatches.com/chronicle/2020-the-james-bond-watch), replacing Rolex as the spy's watch brand of choice. The last release came alongside Daniel Craig's last Bond film, No Time To Die, with the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition. Without a new film on the horizon, or a replacement for Daniel Craig, having a new edition tied to the re-launch of James Bond in the video game space makes sense. That's especially so when you look at how many modern games have started collaborating closely with prestigious watch brands. Hamilton, which, like Omega, is owned by the Swiss watch giant Swatch, has released numerous watches to tie in with their appearances in games like Death Stranding 2: On The Beach(https://www.gamespot.com/games/death-stranding-2-on-the-beach/), Resident Evil Requiem(https://www.gamespot.com/games/resident-evil-requiem/), and Call of Duty Black Ops 7(https://www.gamespot.com/games/call-of-duty-black-ops-7/).
Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Deathmaster Is A Dark Action Platformer Starring A Skaven Assassin
!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/21/cee27224/warhammeraosdeathmasterscreen02.jpg.webp) Today’s Warhammer Skulls presentation revealed a new 2D action game called Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster. The game puts the Skaven front and center, as players control a cunning rat assassin. Developed by Old Skull Games and published by Dotemu, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster stars Ratman Vihneek, a killer climbing the ranks of the secretive Eshin clan. To appease the demands of his evil masters, the ambitious Vihneek embarks on a what Old Skull Games describes as a “dark tale of treachery” to prove his worth. Gameplay takes the form of 2D sidescrolling action that heavily emphasizes relying on stealth to bypass obstacles, while setting traps and cleverly using surroundings to take out threats. When all else fails, of course, Vihneek is just as capable of slicing apart foes face-to-face. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster launches in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.

🎮 Multi-platformWarhammer Age Of Sigmar: Deathmaster Brings Sneaky Assassinations To PC And Consoles Next Year
Stealth-action is probably not the first thing you think of when you hear "Warhammer," but sometimes the most satisfying experiences are the most surprising. Announced during Warhammer Skulls 2026, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is a 2D action-platformer starring a very talented--and disturbed--hooded assassin. Starring the "ratman" Vihneek, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster will see you making use of stealth abilities and traps to move around your enemies or deliver death from the shadows. The cartoony art style might suggest something a bit lighter at first glance, but this is a very violent, very Warhammer experience. And as you can see in the teaser trailer, Vihneek might be losing it, just a little bit. "Vihneek's story is anchored in the rich lore of the Age of Sigmar, where the Skaven have erupted to seize the Mortal Realms for themselves," the official announcement said. In general, killing everything in your path is a reliable strategy for Warhammer video games, and Vihneek seems up to the task. 📱 Mobile, Multi-platformWarhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom Comes To Mobile This Year, Boltgun 2 Demo Out Now On PC
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a fantastic, action-packed take on the sci-fi series, delivering a throwback boomer-shooter experience that feels like it was ripped out of the '90s. If you're looking to spend even more of your time destroying enemies of the Emperor, you'll be happy to know that a mobile spin-off--Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom--will be hitting mobile devices this year. Announced during Warhammer Skulls 2026, Boltgun Boom is being developed by Nitro Games, and it's described as a "premium retro FPS featuring different chapters of the Boltgun series." The teaser video makes it look pretty much indistinguishable from its console and PC siblings, which shouldn't come as a huge surprise given the '90s-era aesthetic. You can pre-register on both iOS and Android as we approach the game's release later in 2026. But that's not all Boltgun fans can get excited about. The demo for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is available right now on Steam, with the full game also coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. You can try out two levels in the demo, which features multiple playable characters this time: Malum Caedo, who plays similarly to the first game, and the more agile Nyra Veyrath. Publisher Dotemu has plenty of experience with 2D action games, including last year's excellent Absolum(https://www.gamespot.com/videos/absolum-review-a-sleeper-hit/2300-6466433/) and the recent Marvel Cosmic Invasion. We'll have a little while to wait before we find out if Deathmaster continues that successful trend, as the game arrives in 2027 for PC and consoles.
🎮 Multi-platformModern Warfare 4 Reveal Looks Imminent As Infinity Ward Teases A “Relentless” Experience
Last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 didn't exactly set the world on fire(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/black-ops-7-had-call-of-dutys-worst-sales-year-ranking-in-the-us-since-2008/1100-6537567/), with reviews being lukewarm at best. A lackluster campaign and multiplayer mode made last year's entry in the annual franchise feel skippable, but what about this year's game? Longtime Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward has begun to hype up what we presume to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-revealed-and-it-wont-be-on-game-pass/1100-6539644/), with the studio promising an experience that is "bold" and relentless" for returning players. "We build visceral, immersive combat experiences that hit different," Infinity Ward wrote(https://x.com/InfinityWard/status/2057491681331626388/photo/1) on its social media feeds. "As a new chapter begins for this studio, we're focused on what defines us: passion, precision, obsession, and an unrelenting drive to make the best entertainment in history. Our next game is the result of that mindset. Determined. Bold. Relentless. Built by a team pushing every detail, every system, every moment to its limit. On behalf of everyone at Infinity Ward, we're proud of what we've been building and excited to finally start sharing it with you." The reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is likely imminent, and Infinity Ward is known for producing some of the better entries in the franchise, including the original Modern Warfare trilogy and its 2019 reboot. Infinity Ward's Call of Duty games lean toward a sense of heightened realism with their gameplay and themes--with Call of Duty: Ghosts and Infinite Warfare being the exceptions--and the studio also co-developed the popular Call of Duty battle royale, Warzone, with Raven Software and several smaller Activision studios.
