Lego’s Smart Play Pokémon can train and battle, but don’t do the one thing I wish they could

When Lego announced its tech-packed Smart Bricks at CES, we were impressed by the potential - enough to give it our Best in Show award. The Simpsons Boss Says Monopoly Go Crossover Wasn’t Meant To Be A “Butt-Kissy” Brand Deal🎮 Multi-platform

The Simpsons Boss Says Monopoly Go Crossover Wasn’t Meant To Be A “Butt-Kissy” Brand Deal

After invading Fortnite last year, The Simpsons are crossing over(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/monopoly-go-is-crossing-over-with-the-simpsons-for-a-battle-of-the-billionaires/) into the world of Monopoly Go this month for an event that feels like it was pulled straight from the long-running TV series. While you'd expect such a collaboration to dress the game up in Simpsons themes and throw in a few voice clips, developer Scopely is going all in, having debuted an animated short that features tyrant billionaire Mr. Burns taking on Monopoly icon Mr. Pennybags (voiced by Will Ferrell in the short). Scopely's plans include a narrative-driven takeover of Monopoly Go, with players taking part in a storyline that The Simpsons team has had a hand in crafting. According to The Simpsons executive producer and showrunner Matt Selman, this has resulted in a crossover that feels both "Simpsons-y" and avoids feeling like a "butt-kissy, pointless" team-up. "They really ran with the Simpsons football so beautifully because we were just like, be subversive, be Simpson-y," Selman said to IGN(https://www.ign.com/articles/the-simpsons-monopoly-mobile-crossover-event-interview?utmsource=bluesky,threads,twitter). "Don't just be a butt-kissy, pointless brand collaboration. They took that note to heart and said, 'We are going to make this. Like, what's the version of this Bart would love to play? What's the version of this that has that Bart attitude of being playful and subversive and not just straight ahead?' I mean, we all love the Three Little Pigs chapter of Monopoly Go, but subversiveness is not the word that came to mind when you played it. I mean, they were definitely cute pigs. They gave you little dice and stuff when you whacked those little pigs." https://youtu.be/pDxn0CD41b0 The Simpsons are far removed from their heyday of licensed video games, but following last year's popular Fortnite crossover(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/everything-new-in-fortnite-simpsons-season/2900-7202/), there's hope that Springfield's favorite family could once again feature in more games. Top of the list for many fans is a remaster of The Simpsons: Hit & Run(https://www.gamespot.com/games/the-simpsons-hit-and-run/), and collaborations like this could show just how hungry people are for the cult-classic game. The 2003 GTA-inspired game still has legions of fans, and Selman has encouraged its fans to keep holding out hope(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/simpsons-hit-run-revival-never-say-never-producer-says/1100-6538676/) for something to happen in the future. 13 More Times The Simpsons Predicted The Future !3932136-dek.jpeg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1578/15789737/3932136-dek.jpeg?w=1024) !3932123-001.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1578/15789737/3932123-001.jpg?w=1024) !3932124-002.png(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1578/15789737/3932124-002.png?w=1024) !3932125-003.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1578/15789737/3932125-003.jpg?w=1024) !3932126-004.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1578/15789737/3932126-004.jpg?w=1024) !3932127-005.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1578/15789737/3932127-005.jpg?w=1024) !3932128-006.jpg(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/original/1578/15789737/3932128-006.jpg?w=1024) View Images(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/13-more-times-the-simpsons-predicted-the-future/2900-3916/)

GTA 6 Could Sell 35 Million Copies By April 2027, Report Says🎮 Multi-platform

GTA 6 Could Sell 35 Million Copies By April 2027, Report Says

The research firm Piper Sandler has released a new investor report(https://x.com/AIStockSavvy/status/2061761912094814386) covering Take-Two, the owner of Rockstar Games and the GTA franchise. The report gave Take-Two's stock a "overweight"(https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/050115/why-do-analysts-sometimes-give-overweight-recommendation-stock.asp) rating (which implies growth potential), with Piper Sandler setting a new price target for the stock of $280. The company's stock closed at $226.98 on June 1. Take-Two's all-time high is about $265, so Piper's prediction would beat that. What's driving the enthusiasm? GTA 6, of course. Piper Sandler said some of the near-term catalysts for Take-Two's stock includes a third GTA 6 trailer, preorders going live, and the game's marketing campaign kicking off. Piper Sandler predicted GTA 6 to reach sales of about 35 million units by April 2027, which would amount to about a 30% attach rate on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the firm estimated. DFC Intelligence, meanwhile, previously predicted 40 million sales for GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-5-could-make-3-billion-in-first-year-alone/1100-6528605/) over its first 12 months. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Screenshot-2026-06-02-at-8.47.27-AM-1.png?w=1024) After launch, GTA 6 could benefit from whatever GTA Online brings to market, along with a second wave of sales when the game comes to PC and PS6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-6-everything-we-know-about-sonys-next-generation-console/1100-6533561/) and Project Helix(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/next-xbox-release-date-specs-display-price/1100-6525379/), Piper Sandler said. To be sure, Rockstar has not made any announcements about bringing GTA 6 to next-gen platforms, nor has the developer said a peep about GTA 6's online mode. These predictions make sense, given GTA Online for GTA 5 has been, and continues to be, a money-printer for Rockstar. Regarding the possibility of expanding to next-gen platforms, that would also fall in line with Rockstar's established playbook. After all, GTA 5 first launched in 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360 before later getting new versions for PS4 and Xbox One, and then PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, Piper Sandler said it sees a rosy future for GTA 6 (and Take-Two's stock, in return) because "modern live-streaming platforms" like Twitch may be able to help drive even more interest in GTA 6 and convince more people to buy the game. Services like Twitch and other video streaming platforms did exist when GTA 5 was released in 2013, but they have grown substantially larger and more influential since then. Beyond expected success from GTA 6, Piper Sandler said Take-Two is looking like a good investment right now because the company's mobile division, Zynga, is improving its business. Additionally, Piper Sandler said Take-Two's ability to get more money out of people with its "recurring consumer spending" strategies in games like GTA and NBA 2K is a sign of strength. "In a consolidating media landscape, Take-Two stands out as a scarce, high-value asset with significant long-term appreciation potential," Piper Sandler said. GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Digital Eclipse Reveals Toy Story Retro Collection And Toy Story 3 Remaster

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/46d3cbdb/toystory3CEcrop.jpg.webp) 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the premiere of 1996’s Toy Story. If the upcoming Toy Story 5 isn’t enough to get you excited to hang with Woody and Buzz Lightyear one more time, perhaps revisiting their old video games will do the trick. Digital Eclipse, the team behind retrospective collections such as Atari 50(https://gameinformer.com/review/atari-50-the-anniversary-celebration/a-half-century-of-gaming-history-stuffed-into-an), The Making of Karateka, and Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection(https://gameinformer.com/review/mortal-kombat-legacy-kollection/chronicled-kombat) has announced two Toy Story nostalgia projects. The first is Toy Story: Retro Roundup, a “definitive collection” of classic Toy Story games from the '90s/early '00s.  The bundle features the following titles, including a surprise bonus game: - Toy Story (1995) - Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! (1999) - Toy Story 2 (1999) - Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000) - Toy Story Racer (2001) - A Bug’s Life (1998) Each game in Toy Story: Retro Roundup can be played in its original visuals or in an upgraded resolution. The games also feature the now-signature rewind mechanic, save states, and a practice mode featuring guided walkthroughs. You can also use Rex's Cheat Codes to immediately unlock characters, levels, invincibility, unlimited lives, and bonus modes. Retro Roundup also includes extensive archival content, such as development materials, as well as six behind-the-scenes video interviews with creators from Pixar and TT Games, voice actor Jim Hanks, and more. The next game is Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, a remaster of the cult-favorite 2010 game(https://gameinformer.com/games/toystory3/b/xbox360/archive/2010/06/29/out-of-the-box-approach-pays-off-in-avalanche-s-inspired-licensed-game.aspx) (and a favorite of Korn frontman(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNkBjvjyqHE) Jonathan Davis(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNkBjvjyqHE)). The game now boasts 4K resolution and 60 fps performance. It also includes content previously exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version, such as the option to play as Zurg in the game's Toy Box mode, Toy Story 3's signature open-world sandbox. Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition will be released on October 15 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.  Each game will be sold separately but will also be bundled in a double pack. !(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/ddff73b6/toy-story-retro-1.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/a40a2d32/toy-story-3-ce-1.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/630eff7e/toy-story-retro-2.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/e5cf3ef0/toy-story-3-ce-5.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/d08bda5a/toy-story-retro-3.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/483017d1/toy-story-3-ce-8.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/fa6bd5da/toy-story-retro-4.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/989504ee/toy-story-3-ce-3.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/53e2ebb7/toy-story-retro-5.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/b9a1e709/toy-story-retro-6.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/9358471b/toy-story-3-ce-7.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/02/9c5ec476/toy-story-3-ce-4.jpg.webp)

Debut Title From Former Forza Horizon Developers Sounds A Lot Like Forza Horizon, But With More Family

Following the studio's formation in 2024, Maverick Games has revealed its debut title, an open-world, narrative-driven racing game named Clutch. The studio is spear-headed by Playground Games veterans, with experience across most of the Forza Horizon series. Clutch is described as a cinematic open-world racer, following the rise of sibling racers competing in a prestigious racing series called R1K. The series has sanctioned events that you'll partake in, but also acts as a cover for the Midnight Collective: a series of underground racers that is meant to show the seedier side of the game's campaign. The campaign plays out in a living world, with PvPvE elements determining the power of several crews and their alliances within the game's story. You'll be able to react to these shifts within the context of your own campaign, partaking in a mix of planned and spontaneous races that Maverick Games says can pop up at anytime. How all these elements work together is a little vague as it stands, but a debut trailer later this week at Summer Game Fest should hopefully clear that up. As for the racing, Maverick Games says it plans to deliver a distinct style of arcade action by leveraging an in-house physics engine and its open-world sandbox design to create some chaotic races. Vehicles will be open to customization, with Maverick Games teasing that there will be ways for players to create one-of-a-kind rides that it hopes will help players build stronger connections with their favorite cars. Amazon was initially set to publish Clutch, but dropped out of the deal(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/open-world-racing-game-from-forza-veteran-isnt-dead-despite-amazon-dropping-out/1100-6538416/) earlier this year before it had been formally reveal. Maverick Games founder and creative director Mike Brown said at the time that the studio was in conversations with other partners to ensure that its debut title remained on track for release, which is currently set for spring 2027.

PlayStation State Of Play June 2026: Start Time, How To Watch, And What To Expect

The spirit of E3 is very much alive(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/every-video-game-showcase-to-watch-in-2026/2900-7446), as Sony is back this week with a new State of Play livestream on June 2. Alongside several other big names in gaming, the PlayStation-focused broadcast will show off what's next for the gaming brand across its first-party studios and third-party partners. We’ve rounded up all the details you need to know for the livestream, so you can see when to tune in exactly, where to watch, and what to expect. How to watch State of Play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsLdKNArSMY&pp=ygUIZ2FtZXNwb3Q%3D As always, State of Play will be streamed live on Sony’s YouTube and Twitch channels. - YouTube(https://www.youtube.com/playstation) - Twitch(https://www.twitch.tv/playstation) State of Play start time State of Play kicks off on June 2, at the following times: - 2 PM PT - 5 PM ET - 10 PM BST - 11 PM CEST - 6 AM JST (June 3) What to expect Officially, Sony says that you can watch over an hour of updates, announcements, and gameplay reveals from studios across the world. Marvel's Wolverine(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-gameplay-platforms-and-everything-we-know/1100-6516081/) will kick things off, but beyond that, Sony is keeping quiet. It's likely that Arc System Works Marvel-themed fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls(https://www.gamespot.com/games/marvel-tokon-fighting-souls/), will make an appearance since it's out on August 6, and we wouldn't be surprised to see more of Horizon: Hunters Gathering. Other potential games from Sony's portfolio that could potentially make an appearance include Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet(https://www.gamespot.com/games/intergalactic-the-heretic-prophet/), and it's rumored that Haven Studios' FairGame$ has been rebranded, so a re-reveal might be on the cards. Sony Santa Monica Studio has also been quiet since God of War Ragnarok was released, so it might be time for the studio to finally reveal that spin-off rumored to be in the works. On the third-party side, Persona 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/leaked-persona-6-design-docs-reveal-potential-protagonists/) and a Rayman Origins(https://www.gamespot.com/games/rayman-origins/) remaster are also said to be in development, so a State of Play reveal wouldn't be unlikely. Then there's the GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/grand-theft-auto-6-everything-we-know/1100-6503729/)-sized elephant in the room, as Rockstar Games' open-world crime caper hasn't been seen since its second trailer dropped long, long ago. With a marketing deal in place with Sony, seeing a new look at the game ahead of its November release would end the show on a very high note.
