Forza Horizon 6 Crushes Franchise Record On Steam Despite The Need To Pay Extra

Forza Horizon 6(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/forza-horizon-6-review-dopamine-highway/1900-6418489/) has crushed the franchise record on Steam for peak concurrent users, and that's especially noteworthy since the game is only available for a select group of people currently. Forza Horizon 5 set the franchise record for highest peak concurrent-player count on Steam with 81,096 back on November 13, 2021(https://steamdb.info/app/1551360/charts/), which was the first Saturday after the game launched on November 9. Forza Horizon 6, meanwhile, hit a high watermark of 172,093 players(https://steamdb.info/app/2483190/charts/) today, May 15, meaning Forza Horizon 6 doubled up the franchise high (via GamesRadar(https://www.gamesradar.com/games/racing/forza-horizon-6-immediately-beats-its-predecessors-all-time-steam-record-with-130-000-concurrent-players-and-thats-only-counting-people-willing-to-pay-usd120-for-early-access/)). Forza Horizon 4 came to Steam in March 2021, representing the franchise's debut on Steam, and it peaked at 75,689 concurrent players(https://steamdb.info/app/1293830/charts/). The game came to Valve's digital storefront years after its original release in 2018; players reported many issues at launch and it was delisted from Steam in 2024(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/forza-horizon-4-delists-in-december-dlc-delists-today/1100-6524496/). Subnautica 2 For PS5? Here's What We Know So Far🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Multi-platform

Subnautica 2 For PS5? Here's What We Know So Far

Subnautica 2(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-guides-hub/1100-6539935/) is out now in early access, and it's doing great, but if you're playing on the biggest modern console platform out there--PlayStation 5--the game is not available for you. Why is that? And is Subnautica 2 ever going to come to PlayStation 5? Here's what we know. PS5 doesn't have a dedicated early-access program Some have theorized that Subnautica 2 is not on PlayStation 5 as of yet because the game is in an early-access state and is not available with a 1.0 version. Steam has its own Early Access program, which is very popular, and Xbox has its own version called Game Preview. Sony does support some early-access games, but not as widely as Steam or Xbox. For example, Palworld is available on PS5 in its current unfinished state, as is Path of Exile 2. It appears Sony accepts unfinished games on a case-by-case basis, but without a dedicated early-access program. Crimson Desert Patch Fixes Damiane's Armor And Adds Powerful Finisher🖥 PC, Multi-platform

Crimson Desert Patch Fixes Damiane's Armor And Adds Powerful Finisher

Only three days have passed since Pearl Abyss shared the last update for Crimson Desert(https://www.gamespot.com/games/crimson-desert/), but the publisher has now dropped another patch(https://crimsondesert.pearlabyss.com/en-US/News/Notice/Detail?boardNo=92) that makes some notable improvements to the game. It also fixes the issue with Damiane’s Elegant Carmine leather armor that sparked some backlash earlier this month. According to the patch notes, the "abnormal" appearance of Damiane's new armor wasn't planned. The Elegant Carmine leather armor briefly covered up more of her body than usual, which caused some players to complain, and a few even review-bombed the game on Steam. The new update also allows players to get rematches with more bosses in the game while adding a very powerful move for the main character, Kliff. With his new unarmed Blinding Flash Finisher, Kliff can finish a combo by going full superhero and unleash a hit that emits a massive shockwave. Damiane and Oongka have also been given their own versions of the Aerial Stab move. For animal lovers, there are new bears and wolves that can be used as mounts. One of Intel’s fastest desktop CPUs is $50 off

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus was billed by the company in late March as one of its “fastest gaming desktop processor ever.” That hype was evidently accurate, as benchmarks done by Gamers Nexus show the processor giving AMD’s pricier X3D cache-equipped Ryzen 9000-series CPUs a run for their money. Everything Coming To Subnautica 2 Early Access: Co-Op, Sprinting, And New Gameplay Systems

Subnautica 2(https://www.gamespot.com/games/subnautica-2/) has made a big splash(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-overcomes-pre-release-controversy-to-become-massive-hit-on-steam/1100-6539956/) in early access for PC and Xbox Series X|S, and developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment has outlined several planned updates for its underwater survival adventure. The developer says that its first updates will focus on gameplay improvements that address systems and smaller features before it moves on to larger expansions to the game world. Updates to the game world, biomes, creatures, resources, tools, and vehicles are in the pipeline, as well as the next chapter in the Subnautica 2 story. "The entire dev team has been working hard to put together some great quality-of-life fixes for our first update," the developer explained in a blog post(https://unknownworlds.com/en/news/subnautica-2-early-access-roadmap). "This should help adjust and address some areas that need a little tweaking to make your Subnautica 2 experience even better." Improvements to co-op(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-co-op-multiplayer-works-in-subnautica-2/1100-6539887/) are also coming in the game's 1.2 Early Access patch, with voice chat, player trading, revives, and more customization options being planned alongside improved HUD signals and base-building tools. Unknown Worlds stressed that the rough dates for each update can change. The studio also wants fan feedback to help shape the development of Subnautica 2, and is urging players to leave suggestions for what can be improved upon in the game through bug fixes, balance tuning, and optimization. Subnautica 2 Is Off To A Massive Start

Subnautica 2 has been out for less than a day, and yet it's already attracted a massive number of players. Unknown Worlds Entertainment launched Subnautica 2(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/subnautica-2-release-times-for-pc-and-xbox-series-x-s-revealed/1100-6539731/) on Steam and Xbox Series X|S at 11 AM ET, May 14. There was a ton of interest right out of the gate, and a look at Steam's most-played games(https://store.steampowered.com/charts/mostplayed) shows some eye-watering concurrent player count stats. It attracted hundreds of thousands of concurrent players on Steam almost immediately, peaking at 467,582. According to Unknown Worlds, combined concurrents on Steam, Epic, and Xbox topped 651,000. That dwarfs the launches of other hit Steam games this year, like Windrose(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/windrose-steam-numbers-show-people-want-pirate-games-as-black-flag-rumors-swirl/1100-6539469/). Subnautica 2 was the most-wishlisted game on Steam prior to its launch, and it's clear that those wishlists are converting into sales. Subnautica 2 Is An Early Access Hit, Crossing 2 Million Copies Sold In Just 12 Hours

!Subnautica 2 Early Access PC Unknown Worlds Entertainment Steam(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/05/15/5aa73911/subnautica22.jpg.webp) Developer/publisher Unknown Worlds Entertainment launched Subnautica 2(https://gameinformer.com/product/subnautica-2-early-access) into Early Access yesterday, May 14, and in just 12 hours, the game surpassed 2 million copies sold. Subnautica 2 also reached 651,000 peak concurrent players across Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox yesterday, making it clear that this highly anticipated underwater survival game is an Early Access hit. Subnautica 2 also has more than 12,500 reviews on Steam and maintains a "Very Positive" rating. Though Subnautica 2 still has a ways to go before matching its predecessor's sales, which sits at 18.5 million copies sold worldwide, it's off to a great start. Unknown Worlds Entertainment is Subnautica 2's publisher, but Krafton(https://gameinformer.com/2021/10/29/krafton-the-company-behind-pubg-acquires-subnautica-developer-unknown-worlds) originally filled that role. However, a lengthy (and still ongoing) legal battle saw Krafton fire Unknown Worlds Entertainment's then-CEO Ted Gill and other studio co-founders over allegations that they (and the team) had failed to get Subnautica 2 up to par for launch, arguing that Gill and others were even working on other games instead of the survival sequel. The legal battle led to Gill and others being reinstated and Unknown World Entertainment gaining publishing rights for Subnautica 2. Gill and co-founders Max McGuire and Charlie Cleveland argued in court that Krafton did this to prevent Unknown Worlds Entertainment from earning a $250 million bonus payout (which activates upon Subnautica 2 achieving certain performance and sales milestones), but that the collection period was extended to September. And, given how well Subnautica 2 has performed in less than 24 hours, it seems very likely the studio will get that bonus. Game Informer will be streaming Subnautica 2 later today, so if you're interested in seeing the game in action, check it out on our Twitch channel later. Are you playing Subnautica 2? The AI-Powered Tech Behind PSSR 2 Is Coming To Older AMD GPUs, Including The Steam Machine🖥 PC, Multi-platform

The AI-Powered Tech Behind PSSR 2 Is Coming To Older AMD GPUs, Including The Steam Machine

After nearly a year of speculation, AMD has announced that it is bringing its latest generation of AI-powered upscaling technology, FSR 4.1, to its older generations of GPUs, starting with RDNA 3 cards as early as July. FSR 4.1 launched in March for AMD's latest GPUs, namely the RX 9070 XT, 9070, and more. Older, but just as capable, RDNA 3 cards such as the RX 7900 XTX, have been stuck on FSR 3, with AMD repeatedly stating that newer hardware in its latest cards enabled the AI upscaling in a way previous architecture couldn't. That is no longer the case, with AMD's Jack Huynh(https://x.com/jackhuynh/status/2054904153013387273) stating that the company has done a lot of work to ensure the upscaling suite is optimized for the older hardware. Better still, he says AMD is also planning to release FSR 4.1 on even older RDNA 2 GPUs, such as the one found in the Steam Deck, in early 2027. This not only enhances older desktop GPUs during a time where the price of PC hardware has increased exponentially, but it also is good news for upcoming RDNA 3 devices, like Valve's Steam Machine(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-machine-release-date-price-everything-we-know/1100-6536286/). When it was originally announced, Valve said that the living-room PC would leverage upscaling to support games at 4K, but the reliance on FSR 3 at the time didn't make that option too enticing given its shortcomings. With FSR 4.1, the same technology that currently underpins Sony's PSSR 2(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps5-pros-upgraded-pssr-is-rolling-out-today-here-are-the-first-games-getting-it/1100-6538811/) on the PlayStation 5 Pro, that is a different discussion entirely. What might be even more potentially exciting is AMD's promise to also bring FSR 4.1 to even older RDNA 2 GPUs in early 2027, which includes those found in the Steam Deck. The news also suggests that consoles like the Xbox Series X could start leveraging the latest version of FSR, too, but that would be solely up to developers. And considering recent releases, such as Pragmata(https://www.gamespot.com/games/pragmata/), still utilize FSR 1 on both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, there's no guarantee that they will. Still, this is great news if you've been looking to get more from your existing hardware, and should go a long way to making games look better when being scaled up from lower resolutions. How much performance you'll be able to claw back at the same time, however, remains to be seen.
