📱 MobileOutliver: Tribulation offers third-person, African-inspired horror on mobile
Whether you're looking at horror or fantasy, it's hard to ignore how many monsters tend to be drawn from European and American folklore. I mean, apart from djinn, can you name another country's monster that's been highlighted in the genre? Well, Outliver: Tribulation looks to change that with its own take on African-inspired horror. Available now on iOS and Android, Outliver: Tribulation sees you in the role of a female soldier fleeing insurgents. Ending up trapped in a strange supernatural world known as the Realm of Tribulations, her only way out may be through undergoing an ancient ritual to escape. ... 📱 MobileThe Walking Dead: Aftermath offers roguelite action mashed with base-building, out now
It's hard to imagine a time when zombies weren't considered scary. But after years of being dumbed down to just shambling corpses that yelled 'braaains', it was arguably The Walking Dead (and a bit of Max Brooks' World War Z) that kickstarted the undead revolution. Little surprise then that we get so many mobile spinoffs, like The Walking Dead: Aftermath. Available now on iOS and Android, The Walking Dead: Aftermath distinguishes itself from other adaptations of the series. Instead of strategy or an RPG, it's a Survivors-inspired roguelite that sees you journeying from level to level, blasting your way through zombies and gathering upgrades to survive. ... 🖥 PC, MobilePhantom Tower mashes Vampire Survivors and Diablo together for lightning-paced hack 'n slash action
While we so often cover strategy, cosy building games and puzzles here on the website, there are plenty of great, action-packed options available on mobile. And one that's particularly caught our eye is the hack 'n slash roguelike Phantom Tower, out now for iOS and Android! As described in the headline, Phantom Tower looks to be an exciting mixture of Vampire Survivors and Diablo. Your objective is simple: reach the hundredth floor of the tower. In your way, however, are hordes of enemies you'll need to slash and dodge your way through. Dungeon crawls don't get more dangerous than this, it seems! ... 📱 Mobile, Multi-platformTodd Howard Says Fallout’s Future Is Bigger Than The Long Wait For Fallout 5
The post-apocalyptic world of Fallout expanded a few years ago with the release of a TV series on Prime Video, but anyone expecting a new Fallout game to release in time with the show was out of luck. Two seasons have already aired--and a third is on the way--but the gap between new Fallout video games continues to widen. Bethesda Game Studios boss Todd Howard has a different viewpoint on the MIA status of the games, and as he explained to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier on his YouTube channel, it all comes down to timing. "I look at it from what does the franchise look like to the audience? I view TV as one chapter, and I view when is a franchise really, really healthy, and when can we execute whatever we're doing, whether it's a mobile game or a TV show or remasters, making sure that we execute those at the highest level," Howard said to Schreier (who was relaying the quotes back to his YouTube audience). https://youtu.be/j3vP8EOmtRk Howard also added that Bethesda was looking for the right "pocket-timing" (synchronizing a rhythm perfectly with a band's groove) for the Fallout franchise. Bethesda also spoke about its future plans for the Fallout franchise(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/fallout-5-re-confirmed-alongside-fallout-3-and-fallout-new-vegas-remasters/) today, confirming that remasters for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are on the way. As reported last week(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-fallout-game-is-new-focus-for-new-vegas-developer-obsidian-entertainment-report/?thumbnailid=1814235), Obsidian Entertainment will be teaming up with Bethesda to work on a new Fallout project, and Fallout 76 will receive a major new update later this year, Raven Rock, that serves as a prequel to Fallout 3. Bethesda says that Fallout 5(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/fallout-5-release-date-trailer-news/1100-6522412/) remains the "long-term destination" for the company, and it is currently in pre-production. 📱 MobileGaucho and the Grassland's mobile port will include an original prequel story
Last year, one of the upcoming games that really caught our eye was Gaucho and the Grassland. Now, fans on mobile will soon be able to get their hands on it! Yes, as Gaucho and the Grassland celebrates its first anniversary, we've also finally gotten an update on its mobile port, which is first coming to Android later in 2026! 📱 MobileLooney Tunes World of Mayhem to shut down after seven years
There's not much room for silliness on mobile at the minute, it seems, as Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem is set to shutter later this fall. The casual ARPG based on the famous cartoon cast of characters will cease service on October 15th, with in-app purchases closing on August 16th. Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem had a fairly respectable run, as far as mobile games go. Released back in 2019, we found it to be quite an enjoyable, casual ARPG, which is something many in the genre still struggle to grasp. Unfortunately, the wacky characters of the Looney Tunes probably weren't suited for the crowded ARPG genre. ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/looney-tunes-world-of-mayhem/shutting-down/)
📱 MobileUmamusume: Pretty Derby to host first-ever world tour, starting off in Los Angeles this Fall

Now, superfans can experience the first-ever Umamusume world tour for themselves! Running from October 22nd-23rd at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles (which will also host Wuthering Waves' upcoming concert) the event sees the cast of Umamusume: Pretty Derby taking to the stage as their respective characters and performing songs from the game. 📱 MobileWords With Friends 17th anniversary lets you pitch your own word to add to their dictionary
For whatever reason, multiplayer puzzlers are big business. Seeing my friends playing Wordle every day (I still don't get the appeal) has been enough to tell me that. It's little surprise, then, that Words With Friends is celebrating a whopping 17 years since launch! And to celebrate, they've come up with an interesting new competition. The Become a Solo Star contest is, on the surface, pretty average for such a major milestone. Running until August 1st, it allows you to get turned into an in-game character. But more than that, you can also pitch your own word to be added to the in-game dictionary! ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/words-with-friends/17th-friendiversary-event/)
