🖥 PC, Multi-platformSteam Machine Preorders Are About To Begin, So Of Course They’re Already On eBay
The Steam Machine isn't even out yet, though Valve has begun sending out confusing emails(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-machine-preorder-emails-are-super-confusing/) about whether people are in the "queue" or on the "waitlist" for the device. That hasn't stopped netizens from doing the inevitable, though: listing their reservations on eBay to make a quick buck. If you head over to eBay—or GameBay (?), since GameStop really wants to buy the online marketplace(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gamestop-ceo-came-up-with-plan-to-buy-ebay-on-the-toilet-wants-it-to-become-re-seller-of-digital-gaming-items/)—and search for the Steam Machine(https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?nkw=steam+machine&sacat=0&from=R40&trksid=m570.l1313), you'll see a handful of postings for Valve's upcoming living room PC. The system is already expensive, running between $1050 and $1430 depending on the model, but these listings go for about double the regular price. The Steam Machine listings GameSpot has viewed so far are all for "confirmed reservations." This means that the eBay seller received one of those perplexing emails from Valve securing their spot in the "queue"—not the "waitlist," which is an important distinction we just broke down(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-machine-preorder-emails-are-super-confusing/). Some of the sellers even state that they'll ship the not-a-console console(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-machine-is-not-a-console-valve-says/) to you as soon as it ships to them, which could be sometime in early July. It's at a markup, though, with the cheapest going for $1363.70 (now sold)(https://www.ebay.com/itm/318508294241?skw=steam+machine&itmmeta=01KW2K4W912F7QJ78RPDXB85PR&hash=item4a2892e061:g:H4EAAeSwBdhqPsEg&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA0GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xD7%2FEytnfIbeR9vg%2BXgwHtvvuxAYErZ2t1tB%2FWOzBMESKQ0g6mGFWuoqxFU7MPbjphLA5X3CgO55%2FZ%2FcbEwJicyzhFecnIidjBnkBr0t9qq7e3u806Dj2A3GHPoANAhEQEGcCy8%2FrjrKeM3F1GwFPmQ553AFmiIDM7WiCWeZTnqf6z2jYabejTrSdLJhhxjceV8RiQBcyhlDjfVwckUJ14PRVqIG8Dums67oixvIxMOLHwbppHlymQcl7lCT2Rncso%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SRDEk9PgZw) and the most expensive running your wallet a cool $3200(https://www.ebay.com/itm/307026925253?skw=steam+machine&itmmeta=01KW2K4W91ANEZ1JC61NEPMTJ5&hash=item477c3b16c5:g:P34AAeSw2RNqPsAM&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA0GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xADhmM8sjsGnpot16x8nhG46GvfKoc0zb8%2Buy9HjVJuTbhj8PSWpX%2F7pXoLaZp22pakxiFZaJTEyzIPgST1o5S%2B3uEOsmljvKFtJo07ahTsQjpZJmBXgfl%2FItnxLoAXVY3ei%2BwEPJRfOE5C21nuM6ljPkYQWlGnr3Umzn4cYR0HJaX3YQWtalVP%2Fy5xQGoMdSEm2%2BjuakPGCxvjdp7c6i%2F5gOoBgRBIBVyLVHKpofzMeT5VhCpff5YOUDnu1mp1ORY%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SRDEk9PgZw). This isn't all that surprising to see, since this tends to happen with most in-demand or sold-out hardware from the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X to the Nintendo Switch 2 and the Steam Deck. Still, it is kind of curious, particularly since one listing called the Steam Machine "a piece of gaming history." There's no doubt that Valve's upcoming device is fascinating, with early impressions(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-machine-impressions-a-tiny-box-with-big-trade-offs/) calling it a tiny but mighty piece of gaming hardware. Maybe the hyperbole will help the seller sell their reservation, which is listed for $2600(https://www.ebay.com/itm/287420797005?skw=steam+machine&itmmeta=01KW2K4W906902A11XWP73PZF7&hash=item42eb9d504d:g:2HcAAeSwQZpqPr9a&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA8GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xCet99ATz9bQXnrvpE%2Bj2uin%2BYkFjAcXbzKR0paEmiF4LQkFzIb%2Fnh%2BffV6j5td146wgAKYIvWrVsxcpHqLNERDrSv7oCZFwPmDnwN7W0vBY2wzdGMZEMldskobCl%2BD5ndbdYnkjDQKeJciFOtbeNSnnZ3hggBa59nHEiCTRtZSn0%2BDNQ4W80ubMdyySQwcgSA5gRzbZ8Nb%2BsR9MKFIgfs0h2YQ%2BFUx0hO%2FBrJiMPqLHSwFaHWctxJggPaMJBeLlnZNVuBrnuGiR045XvtFdRva0nTP%2Fa5Q%2BnKuJUY%2BsRVV9Q%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-7Ek9PgZw).
🖥 PC, Multi-platformSteam Machine Preorder Emails Are Super Confusing
With Valve's Steam Machine releasing on June 29, you may be confused as to when you'll be able to actually purchase the not-a-console console(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-machine-is-not-a-console-valve-says/). It's a little perplexing, so let us help you make sense of the email you might've just gotten in your inbox. Valve has begun sending out preorder emails notifying you about the outcome of the randomized drawing you were able to sign up for recently. That email, though, isn't the actual one that allows you to buy the device. Instead, it's a notification telling you whether you'll soon be sent a second email to place an order, or if you'll have to wait for more supply to become available at some point in the future. What's confusing is the terminology the company's using. If you're in the "queue," you can buy the specific model of Steam Machine within three days of your email. If you landed on the "waitlist," you'll have to wait until more supply becomes available. This is the email sent to those in the queue, who can place an order soon: "When your Steam Machine 512GB becomes available, we will send you a separate email with the option to purchase. You'll then have 3 days to complete the purchase before we cancel your reservation and move on to the next person in the queue. This is the only email you will receive about the results of the randomization. If you ended up with a reservation queue spot for more than one model, you were allocated a reservation for the highest-end model, and were removed from all the others." And this is the email sent to those placed on the waitlist: "When we did the one-time randomization of the list, your place in line ended up beyond the number of units we'll have in this production run. As we work our way through the reservation queue, some customers may cancel their reservations. If that happens, you may be moved into the reservation queue, and you'll be notified via email that you have a reservation after all. This is the only email you will receive about the results of the randomization. If you ended up with a waitlist spot for one or more models, you'll be placed on the waitlist for the model that you were closest to the front of." Early impressions of the Steam Machine sound promising(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-machine-impressions-a-tiny-box-with-big-trade-offs/), as it operates as a living room PC that appears to be a novel way into PC gaming. It runs well, runs quiet, and runs small. It also runs your wallet, with prices as low as $1050 and as high as $1430. I hope you have half of a month's rent just lying around somewhere.

🖥 PC, Multi-platformDead Or Alive 6 Last Round Makes Players Pay Again For DLC They Already Bought
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round launched on June 24 and is already receiving negative reviews on Steam for a lack of new content and for making players pay more for DLC they previously bought. We don't like it very much(https://www.gamespot.com/videos/dead-or-alive-deserves-better-than-this/), either. For the most part, players can transfer DLC(https://teamninja-studio.com/doa6/lastround/us/productinfo/index.html) purchased for the original version of Dead or Alive 6(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/dead-or-alive-6-review-combat-ready/1900-6417097/)to the new Last Round edition, which has both free and $40 versions. Unfortunately, even the $40 version of Dead or Alive 6 Last Round doesn't support any previous purchases relating to The King of Fighters crossover characters. That means players who previously spent $8 on Mai Shiranui or Kula Diamond, and even more to buy their DLC costume packs, will have to purchase all that DLC again, no matter what. That stings even more because both Koei Tecmo has increased the price of both fighters and their costume DLC. The "Unlock Key" for each character now costs $11 rather than $8, while Mai and Kula's character and costume bundles now are $21 instead of $16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqKxb-CSR0Y Even if you spend $40 on this new version of Dead or Alive, you'll still need to pay $42 more to access DLC you may have previously purchased. Obviously, that is not being well-received by the core community of this fighting game, although Koei Tecmo has not indicated any plans to bring Mai and Kula's prices down. Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is now available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A new Dead or Alive game(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/a-new-dead-or-alive-game-is-in-the-works/1100-6538160/) is also in development.

🖥 Nintendo Switch, PC, Multi-platformDeltarune Chapter 5 Is Going Off On Steam
After being announced in a Nintendo Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-direct-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/) two weeks ago, Deltarune Chapter 5(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/deltarune-chapter-5-revealed-and-its-out-very-soon/) is live now and pushing Toby Fox's episodic RPG to new levels of hype. The update saw Deltarune's Steam concurrent player count(https://steamdb.info/app/1671210/charts/max) jump to 291,816, more than double the game's previous peak. As fans check out the new chapter, Deltarune has jumped into the top 10 most played games on Steam--an unusual feat for a single-player RPG with concurrent players normally in the low five figures. The game's previous all-time peak was 133,930 players last June, when the first four chapters were released as a paid game on Steam. The jump in popularity around the Chapter 5 release has also seen Deltarune reach number 13 on Steam's top sellers list(https://steamdb.info/stats/globaltopsellers/). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5y22LUfetA Of course the Steam numbers only give part of the story--Deltarune is also available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2, meaning there's probably a whole lot more players getting stuck into the new chapter right now. Deltarune's fanbase is going off on social media, as fans have been waiting a year for the new content to share their theories, secrets, guides and more. Plenty of players have also shared their praise of the new chapter through Steam reviews(https://store.steampowered.com/app/1671210/DELTARUNE/appreviewshash), where Deltarune enjoys a 98% positive rating. Deltarune's first chapter was released for free back in 2018, with intermittent releases of new chapters in the years since. With just over a year since Chapter 3 and 4's joint release, the wait for Chapter 5 has been the shortest yet(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-wait-for-deltarunes-next-chapter-wont-be-very-long/1100-6532626/). Toby Fox still has more chapters to release to complete Deltarune's story, signing off Chapter 5's release announcement with a promise that the team will return to to working on the next chapter. According to the game's Steam page(https://store.steampowered.com/app/1671210/DELTARUNE/), Chapter 6 is currently planned for a 2027 release.
