Deltarune Chapter 5 Launches Later This Month

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/09/4703e47d/deltarune02.jpg.webp) The fifth chapter of Deltarune launches on June 24 and it will be free for those who have already purchased the game. The date and footage of the chapter was revealed during the Summer Game Fest-adjacent Nintendo Direct, but it is safe to assume the chapter will come to other platforms on that date, as well. Creator Toby Fox previously said, "You only have to buy the game once – upcoming Chapters will be added as free updates. That's not factored into the cost, though. I only feel right charging for what there currently is, not what I say there will be. Therefore, this $24.99 to me represents the exact price of 4 chapters!" For more on Deltarune, you can read our extensive interview with Fox on the game's developer here(https://www.gameinformer.com/2026/05/25/inefficient-and-laborious-the-ongoing-path-to-making-deltarune). !(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/09/b7bfdbd9/deltarune03.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/09/921a16d8/deltarune01.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/09/4703e47d/deltarune02.jpg.webp)

The Duskbloods Is Getting A Network Test Soon, But No Release Date In Sight🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

The Duskbloods Is Getting A Network Test Soon, But No Release Date In Sight

From Software's next multiplayer experiment, The Duskbloods(https://www.gamespot.com/games/the-duskbloods/), is getting an online closed network test before the end of the summer, but no other real details, or a specific release date, were announced. The Duskbloods made a blink-and-you-missed-it appearance as part of the latest Nintendo Direct, with a new trailer that showed off the game's gothic setting and teased some of its story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0ij2uQ87nc "Upon the ancient Blood Soverign's honor, we are monsters," a unshown character states while an old man readies a drink from a goblet and an image of a horrifying-looking blood moon is shown, giving off some extremely strong Bloodborne energy. "Each, vying for blood." A subsequent press release confirmed that The Duskbloods is still scheduled for release in 2026. Not much is known about The Duskbloods, aside from it being a multiplayer-focused action-RPG with pre-set (but customizable) characters(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/you-cant-create-your-own-character-in-the-duskbloods-but-you-can-customize-one/1100-6530631/) to choose from, and that it is currently slated to release sometime this year. Despite From Software's recent focus on multiplayer titles like The Duskbloods and Elden Ring Nightreign, studio head and The Duskbloods director Hidetaka Miyazaki said last year the developer is not abandoing single-player games(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/from-software-is-not-abandoning-single-player-games-studio-boss-says/1100-6530620/) and will continue to make titles that "embrace our more traditional style." The Duskbloods, A Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive RPG From Elden Ring Developer From Software, Gets Closed Network Test This Summer

!The Duskbloods From Software Nintendo Switch 2(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/09/a720991c/duskblood02.jpg.webp) Elden Ring developer From Software revealed The Duskbloods, a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, last year(https://www.gameinformer.com/nintendo-direct/2025/04/02/the-duskbloods-from-softwares-next-game-is-a-switch-2-exclusive). Since then, fans have been waiting for an update, and today's Nintendo Direct brought a small slice of news. From Software and Nintendo have revealed that sometime this Summer, a "closed network test" for The Duskbloods will be held. It revealed this test with a quick new look at The Duskbloods, featuring a trailer that highlights more of this mysterious, medieval world. While there's still no word on when to expect the game, it's set to launch sometime in 2026, so a closed network test this Summer suggests it might still be on track for that. Check it out in the latest trailer for The Duskbloods below:

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Brings Wii Sports Games To Switch 2 This October

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/09/b1a7e354/sports03.jpg.webp) Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was just announced during Nintendo's big summer Direct, and it looks like the exact revival of the Wii Sports era I've been waiting for. Switch sports dropped o the original Switch a few years ago, but it had so few games that it felt underbaked; Nintendo Switch Sports Resort revealed 12 events right out the gate, including the return of the plane you can use to explore Wuhu Island, and that's exactly what I was hoping for. Even better, the game was revealed alongside a release date: October 22. Check out some screens below to get an idea of the gameplay. Here are the events revealed so far: - Archery - Table Tennis - Tennis - Skateboarding - Power Cruising (on a jet ski!) - Thumb Wrestling - Prop Plane - Boxing - Golf - Jump Rope (this isn't technically a sport – just a warm-up) - Volleyball - Bowling - Basketball Each game uses 1-2 Joy Con 2s, and either relies on motion controls or, in the case or something like skateboarding, mouse controls. When you play the game, you can pick between a Sportsmate, a newer style of customizable character introduced in Switch Sports, or a traditional Mii, if you want that classic (dare I say retro) Wii Sports vibe. Given the recent success of Tomodachi Life, I expect most players will lean that way anyways. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort comes out on October 22, later this year. For more Switch Sports, check out our review of the last entry. for more Nintendo Direct, read about the new Fire Emblem game (which also got a release date)(https://www.gameinformer.com/nintendo-direct/2026/06/09/fire-emblem-fortunes-weave-has-four-playable-protagonists-and-a) and the upcoming Pokopia update(https://www.gameinformer.com/nintendo-direct/2026/06/09/pokemon-pokopia-gets-new-bubbly-basin-biome-this-august-alongside-free). !(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/09/1dc2857a/sports01.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/09/17001fa1/sports02.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/09/44d8a8ab/sports05.jpg.webp)!(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/entitybrowserthumbnail/public/2026/06/09/1d4e733e/sports04.jpg.webp)

Donkey Kong Banaza’s Mario-Inspired Update Has The Strangest Limitation Imaginable🍄 Nintendo Switch, Multi-platform

Donkey Kong Banaza’s Mario-Inspired Update Has The Strangest Limitation Imaginable

Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-direct-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/), Donkey Kong Bananza is getting additional content added to its paid DLC that will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Puzzlingly, however, you'll only be able in play it for a limited time. The DK Island and Emerald Rush DLC will soon allow you to dress up both Donkey Kong and Pauline in Mario Bros. outfits. Donkey Kong can equip Mario's recognizable red hat and blue overalls, while Pauline will be able to use Luigi's green hat and slap a mustache on her face. It's all rather cute and fitting for the series. What's confusing are the limitations around it. Starting today, you'll be able to access the costumes for a limited time, with three additional waves coming in the next few months. Miss those allocated times, or all the waves entirely, and you'll not have access to the costumes again. It's an extremely strange way to celebrate Nintendo's biggest franchise, but also, somehow, entirely unsurprising for Nintendo. You can access the DLC during the following times: - June 9, 2026 - June 30, 2026 - July 14, 2026 - July 21, 2026 - August 4, 2026 - August 11, 2026 - August 25, 2026 - September 1, 2026 The bigger update for Donkey Kong fans came in the form of new achievements for classic Donkey Kong games(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/dk-challenge-revealed-for-nintendo-switch-online-on-switch-2/). Starting with Donkey Kong 64, which was recently added to the N64 library of games, you'll be able to chase in-game challenges for digital card rewards. It's a lot like RetroAchivements, but baked into the Nintendo Switch 2's backwards-compatible catalogue.

DK Challenge Revealed For Nintendo Switch Online On Switch 2

Nintendo showed off a new limited-time Donkey Kong event for Switch Online subscribers on Switch 2 at today's Nintendo Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-direct-june-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-and-games/). Called DK Challenge, the experience sees players completing tasks across Donkey Kong games, ranging from Donkey Kong Country to even Donkey Kong Bananza(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/donkey-kong-bananza-review-a-new-start-for-nintendos-first-star/1900-6418382/) (if you own the Switch 2 exclusive). DK Challenge is accessed through the Nintendo Switch Online app on the Switch 2 Home Screen. From there, tasks are available to complete: There's a mine-cart challenge in Donkey Kong Country, for example. By successfully finishing one of these mini-sessions, the game will reward you with challenge cards. There are apparently easy challenges to get a feel for games, like Donkey Kong 3. But Nintendo noted there are harder tasks titled Developer Challenges to check out, too. Later today will see DK Challenge go live, with the event running through September 1. It's only available on Switch 2. That wasn't the only Donkey Kong news either, as Nintendo revealed a Mario-inspired update for Donkey Kong Bananza(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/donkey-kong-banazas-mario-inspired-update-has-the-strangest-limitation-imaginable/).
