🍄 Nintendo Switch, MobileHarvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village add some OG farming to your modern life sim, out now on mobile
Harvest Moon has been a household name in the farming sim genre since the first in the series dropped in 1997, and with now over 30 games in the franchise, it's a fan-fave for a reason. While it's never quite taken off on mobile, perhaps 3DS conversions will have better luck - and that's exactly what Natsume Inc has done with the launch of Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village. These cosy adventures are available for $9.99 a pop on both iOS and Android with a limited-time discount. And if you're not quite familiar with them, Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley sees you caught in a snowstorm and helping a Harvest Sprite save the valley by righting what's wrong with its seasons. Harvest Moon: Skytree Valley, on the other hand, tasks you with revitalising the seven Skytrees in Skytree Village to empower the Harvest Goddess and revive the land. ... 📱 MobileSome of You May Die tasks you with building an unbeatable, autobattling army
The autobattler genre isn't waning in popularity at the moment, with a new one popping up seemingly every other week. It's not quite gacha RPG levels of saturated, but we're certainly not short of them. The latest is Some of You May Die from developer Jordan O'Leary, and it's available now for iOS and Android. The key thing to point out straight away is that this isn't free-to-play. Yeah, I saw a few ears perk up at that. Some of You May Die is a premium offering. And while I don't immediately dismiss free-to-play stuff, there is undeniably something appealing about knowing you're getting the whole package for a one-off payment. ... After several difficult years for the games industry, Gamescom has offered a welcome sign of long-awaited momentum by selling out its exhibition space for the first time in the event's history. It reflects a renewed confidence from leading companies in live events, and for good reason. The annual Cologne gathering isn't just another trade show – it's the industry's pilgrimage, where both fans and professionals can enjoy the unique culture and new opportunities the industry provides. It's against that backdrop that payments platform Payop has announced its sponsorship of the event's Cosplay Village. ... 📱 MobileKingdom Rush 6: Genesis' Classic Mode challenges you to beat the campaign with the original loadout
Kingdom Rush is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary, which is an impressively long time on mobile, as we often say. To commemorate the occasion, Ironhide Studios has unveiled a new game variant for us to enjoy when Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis arrives later this year. It's called Classic Mode, and I'm sure you can probably guess what it involves. If not, here's the lowdown. Classic lets you take on the full campaign under a different rule set where you're limited to one hero on the battlefield alongside Barracks, Archers, Mages and Artillery towers as your defensive options. Each will possess their original upgrades and specialist paths, too. Just to truly make it feel like 2011. Finally, you'll also have access to the Rain of Fire and Reinforcements spells. ... 📱 MobileGuardian Maiden invites you to go fantasy adventuring in an action-packed pixel-art form, coming soon
Because Guardian Maiden and Guardian Tales have the same first word in their titles (and both are coming from Kakao Games too), I feel like they're related - although that's very much wild speculation on my part. It's just that I'm such a fan of Guardian Tales, so if this new action RPG will be anything like it, I am all in. Of course, developer Kong Studios hasn't really confirmed any of that officially, but I can dream, yes? What we do know for sure is that this pixel-art fantasy world will launch across the globe for both PC and mobile, and will also star a colourful cast of characters. It tells the tale of a Hero and a Saint on a quest to save the world, and since Kong Studios does crunchy pixel art so well, I'd say this is definitely one to watch if you're a fan of the visual style. ... 🖥 Xbox, Steam Deck, PC, Mobile, Multi-platformLogitech’s handheld plans are on ice — don’t expect a G Cloud 2 soon
Logitech's new gaming boss, Robin Piispanen, tells me he likes the idea of gaming handhelds. "It's such a charming value proposition," he says, as we sip iced vanilla lattes at my local cafe. But he's not building one right now. He's not sure when or if Logitech should try again, after its underwhelming experiment with &8230;
📱 MobileShop Crush is another store management sim, but with a psychological horror twist
Ever since Discounty was announced for mobile last month, I've become acutely aware of how many shop management sims there are out there. However, much like idle RPGs or puzzlers, this genre lives and dies by how the developer spins the formula, and for Shop Crush it's a psychological horror angle that studio Bslteam have taken! Shop Crush puts you in the shoes of a thrift store owner in the 2000s. However, rather than just selling cheap shoes and discount jackets, you'll be providing your customers with strange and sometimes dangerous goods. Oh, and a few of them might be aliens too, but don't let that stop you trying to flog them some expired milk. ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/shop-crush/coming-to-mobile/)
📱 MobileMoonlight Peaks has shipped 200,000 copies since launch
Having been released a mere three weeks ago, Xseed Games and developer Little Chicken have revealed that Moonlight Peaks has already surpassed 200,000 copies sold. Of course, that's across all platforms, not just mobile. Even so, that's fairly impressive for a cosy life sim with the added niche of throwing in werewolves, witches, mermaids and vampires. Not everyone's into the cutesy meets creepy look, after all. But I was particularly interested in finding out how many copies were sold on mobile, given the price point. At £29.99 (though this might vary by region), it definitely falls into the 'ludicrously expensive' category, something that Iwan discussed in a recent feature. When we're so used to free-to-play, even £5 can seem steep, so this is in another stratosphere entirely. For that money, anyone with a console or PC is likely going to buy it there, right? ...
