Phantom Tower mashes Vampire Survivors and Diablo together for lightning-paced hack 'n slash action

While we so often cover strategy, cosy building games and puzzles here on the website, there are plenty of great, action-packed options available on mobile. And one that's particularly caught our eye is the hack 'n slash roguelike Phantom Tower, out now for iOS and Android! As described in the headline, Phantom Tower looks to be an exciting mixture of Vampire Survivors and Diablo. Your objective is simple: reach the hundredth floor of the tower. In your way, however, are hordes of enemies you'll need to slash and dodge your way through. Dungeon crawls don't get more dangerous than this, it seems! ... If The Odyssey film is anything like The Odyssey adventure game from 2012, Matt Damon will spend the entire first hour trying to solve a single loom puzzle

I played it for two hours and 53 minutes, same as the running time of Christopher Nolan's new film. Here's how it went.

Phantom Tower is an upcoming hack-and-slash rougelike launching on iOS and Android soon

Four years Horien Studio has been building Phantom Tower and nobody's seen the top yet. Not even in trailers. That's a roguelike earning its premise, I suppose. Eight classes, each tied to their own elemental affinity and combat feel, and you're climbing a tower that gets progressively more hostile the further up you go. Plenty of adventurers have tried. None have made it. You probably won't either, at least not for a while. But you keep going back. ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/phantom-tower/steam-demo/)

Outerplane RPG goes full steam ahead as Major9 acquires the franchise from VAGames

Outerplane RPG goes full steam ahead as Major9 acquires the franchise from VAGames

There's really no question about the appeal of isekai stories, whether it's about becoming the Chosen One as the world's only hope or discovering a parallel universe after almost getting hit by a truck. It's a lovable cliche for a reason, and Outerplane knows that all too well - topping it all off with gorgeous 3D animations, thrilling side stories, and memorable characters. This time around, you can expect the turn-based RPG to take things even further as Major9 acquires the Outerplane IP from VAGames - you might even say the studios are diving into a real-world isekai story of their own! ... TMNT: Shredder's Revenge is free on the Epic Games Store this week

TMNT: Shredder's Revenge is free on the Epic Games Store this week

There's always been a part of me that prefers villains in media. In Doctor Who, I'm a big fan of the Daleks, Darth Vader is infinitely cooler than Luke Skywalker, and the Joker is far more compelling than the overly stoic Batman. So when I first came across TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, I found myself thinking, “Ah, I hope it gets it.” And while there's practically no chance of me getting what I want there, I can at least find out for free thanks to the Epic Game Store. That's right, as part of Epic's ongoing program, you can grab the brawler for free until July 2nd. And while I agree it’s a little uncouth to quibble over the quality of something when the price is zero, it's certainly a better offering than last week's Construction Simulator 3. Not only did that confirm I have no business being within 100 yards of a building site, but it just wasn't that fun.  ... To celebrate its first anniversary and more than one million downloads, Trainstation 3 from Pixel Federation is introducing Rail Yard 2.0, a major update focused on visual improvements, expanded customisation, and more immersive railway management. Crystal Saga Nova is a new anime-style MMORPG set to make its way to mobile

Crystal Saga Nova is a new anime-style MMORPG set to make its way to mobile

While we've had the occasional misstep in the past, nowadays a lot of developers are being more open to when their games will come to mobile. Case in point being the interesting-looking new MMORPG Crystal Saga Nova that's set to make its way to mobile post-PC release. In terms of gameplay and graphics, there's nothing that Crystal Saga Nova does that stands out, but nothing egregiously bad either. This is your straightforward isometric MMORPG with a variety of classes from which to pick and play. There is the lingering spectre of some speciously AI-generated assets, but it's unclear enough to give the benefit of the doubt. ... Monument Valley 3 is free this week on Epic Games Store Mobile

Monument Valley 3 is free this week on Epic Games Store Mobile

Monument Valley 3 is free on the Epic Games Store this week, which is worth mentioning because if you're into mobile puzzle games at all, you've probably already played it. The series shows up on every “best puzzlers” list going, so most people who care will have tried at least one by now. But if you haven't, now's a decent time. The Monument Valley series has had a bit of an odd run recently. All three games ended up on Netflix Games as exclusives for a while, which meant pulling them from the App Store and Google Play, where they'd been sitting for years.  ... Road to Empress II is an interactive live-action court drama coming soon to iOS and Android

Road to Empress II is an interactive live-action court drama coming soon to iOS and Android

Interactive movies had a decent run a few years back, then most of them just vanished. Netflix binned all theirs last year, and now it's mostly a niche thing you find on Steam or mobile if you go looking. Road to Empress II arriving in June feels a bit out of step with that, but here we are. The first one did well enough, sold over a million copies, so New One Studio clearly found an audience for it. This sequel picks up the story but shifts the setup. You're not climbing your way into the palace this time.  ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/ruin-road-to-empress-ii/announcement/)
