GTA 6 price, pre-order bonuses, and more — here's everything we just learned about the upcoming game

Overview & Key Takeaways

Grand Theft Auto 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest pieces of entertainment in history. Rockstar just revealed a ton of new info about it.

Rockstar revealed a bunch of key information about Grand Theft Auto 6 on Wednesday, and, y'all, we finally know how much this thing will cost. We also learned about its Ultimate Edition, pre-order bonuses, and more. Rockstar shared more than 60 new GTA 6 screenshots too, and it's already shaping up to be the most stylish game of the year.

To help you keep track of the flurry of new GTA 6 information, here's everything we learned ahead of the game's November launch. We'll start with the answer to the most pressing question of all: How much will Grand Theft Auto 6 cost?

GTA 6 price: How much will the game cost?

After months of unending speculation and countless headlines, Rockstar finally put the pricing question to bed. GTA 6 will cost $79.99 for its standard edition.

It'll join Nintendo's Mario Kart World as the other big-ticket $80 game on the market. A price hike past the usual $70 price for a AAA game has felt inevitable for some time, but never quite materialized. Even Mario Kart World's price tag comes with the caveat that it's been bundled with the Nintendo Switch 2 multiple times, so millions of players effectively got it for $50. Microsoft tried to make $80 games a thing with The Outer Worlds 2, but quickly backtracked in the wake of fan backlash.

As everything in life and video games gets more expensive, GTA 6 might be the only game that can get away with a $79.99 price. It'll be interesting to see how publishers react and if companies like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, and more start experimenting with releasing their flagship titles at $79.99.

GTA 6 will have an Ultimate Edition and pre-order bonuses

GTA 6's Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99, which is what some observers had expected the base game alone to cost. It will include "an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action around every corner," according to Rockstar. You'll get those bonus items throughout the game as opposed to them all being unlocked at the very start. You can read up on what all those extra items will be here.

Anyone who pre-orders GTA 6 or buys it before Nov. 20 will get the Vintage Vice City pack. It's a bundle of cosmetics for protagonists Lucia and Jason that are remarkably old-school and stylist. You'll get the ’55 Vapie Stainier car, various clothing and hairstyle options, and a tropical weapon pattern. You'll also get a month of GTA Plus, Rockstar's subscription service for Grand Theft Auto Online in-game benefits.

Pre-orders will officially begin Thursday, June 25. With the Vintage Vice City pack still being available when GTA6 launches Nov. 19, there's no real benefit to pre-ordering (aside from being able to preload the game starting Nov. 12), unless you really want that free month of GTA Plus. You'll have time to wait for reviews and to see how it performs before diving in and still securing your Vintage Vice City cosmetics.

GTA 6 will have a physical edition... but not really

Those still championing physical media will surely be disappointed by this news: GTA 6 will not be released on a disc. Instead, its physical edition will include a download code in a box. At least the physical copy will be on store shelves a week early, so that players who opt for the code-in-a-box version can also start preloading on Nov. 12.

It's not clear why GTA 6 won't be released on a disc. It's possible the game is just too massive for a reasonable disc release. PlayStation 5 discs can support up to 100 GB of data while Xbox Series X can only hold half that. As games get bigger and bigger, 100 GB might not be enough anymore; games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Baldur's Gate 3 have shipped on multiple discs. Hypothetically, it could need over 200 GB of data and three PS5 discs, and at that point Rockstar could have decided a full-on digital release was easier.

We'll know more about GTA 6's file size once players can start preloading it.

GTA 6 is a 'single-player experience'

GTA 6 will launch as a single-player game, according to its official game descriptions on PlayStation and Xbox's official sites. After outlining the pre-order details, the description states, "Grand Theft Auto 6 is a single-player experience."

This raises questions as to what will happen to Grand Theft Auto Online. It was developed alongside Grand Theft Auto 5 and was released in Oct. 2013, shortly after GTA 5 launched. It's been going strong since, and was released as a stand-alone download in 2021.

Will we get a new GTA Online with GTA 6? It's not clear at this time. It's possible GTA Online continues as-is and gets future updates with GTA6-themed content. Rockstar could also release an entirely new GTA Online experience set in the world of GTA 6. For now, we're in wait-and-see mode.

Behold 63 new GTA 6 screenshots

One thing we know about GTA 6 for sure? The game looks dope. In lieu of a new trailer (Where you at, trailer 3?), screenshots are the next best thing.

The new looks show off how Lucia and Jason can be customized with various outfits and hairstyles. There are also a bunch of new shots of various cars and motorcycles. Because this is set in a fictional version of Florida, you can also check out Lucia and Jason chilling on a boat. Head here to take a gander at all the new screenshots.

Will GTA 6 be released on PC this year?

Don't get your hopes up. Rockstar traditionally launches GTA games on consoles first and ports for Windows PC come some time later. (Grand Theft Auto 5 didn't arrive on PC until a year and a half after it launched.) For now, GTA 6 is only confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Is GTA 6 really coming out this year? Like, for real?

It certainly seems so! Of course, video games are more liable to get unexpected delays than something like films. But, all signs are pointing to Rockstar releasing GTA 6 on Nov. 19, 2026.

Amid all of Wednesday's new information and pre-orders going live June 25, there have been no indications Rockstar will delay GTA 6 again. It's been delayed twice before. GTA 6 previously had a fall 2025 release window before that shifted to May 26, 2026. Last November, it was delayed to Nov. 19 of this year, where its release date has loomed large over the rest of the industry since.

Barring anything unexpected, in just under five months you'll be causing havoc and committing crimes all over not-Miami in Grand Theft Auto 6.

Lego Batman's Joker And Harley Quinn DLC Drops Next Month Alongside Free Absolute Difficulty Update

!Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/08/26/c49884f4/legobatmanlegacyofthedarkknight-harleyquinnthejoker.jpg.webp) Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is one of my favorite games of the year so far, and ever since I rolled credits, I've been eager to play the DLC. Announced prior to the game's launch, we knew it would focus on Harley Quinn and the Joker, and today, WB Games has pulled back the curtain on the new content. The new trailer includes gameplay, new suits for the Bat-family, and a release date: September 18. Check out the video below: Previous Lego Batman games were known for their large roster of playable characters – especially villains – but Legacy of the Dark Knight shrinks the cast to shine more of a spotlight on each of Batman's various partners. They all have character-specific gadgets that I always enjoyed discovering, so I've been looking forward to these new characters to see what the developers have cooked up. The Joker and Harley Quinn will get a new exclusive level, where they'll "orchestrate a breakout from Arkham Asylum with a going-away party Gotham City won’t soon forget," a press release states. The duo will also appear in Mayhem Mode, which has them rushing through Gotham to destroy landmarks, complete challenges, and fight off members of Task Force X (including Deathstroke, Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and Katana). Each run of Mayhem Mode is timed, however, and you'll have to make it back to the Amusement Mile before the timer runs out and Batman and Robin hunt you down. The seven playable characters in the base game will also all get Joker-inspired suits, with Batman getting to wear the notorious Bat Who Laughs costume. All of the above is included in Legacy of the Dark Knight's deluxe edition, which you can upgrade to for $24.99 if you have the base game. On the same day, all versions of the game will receive a free update with the Absolute difficulty, which will surpass Dark Knight as the game's hardest difficulty. I'm particularly interested in checking this out, because it was one of my main faults with Legacy of the Dark Knight – even the hardest mode wasn't very challenging. This DLC pack and the free Absolute difficulty upgrade drop on September 18, which is also the same day the Switch 2 version of the game comes out. A Legendary Star Wars Vending Machine Is At The Center Of A Major Conspiracy

More than 27 years ago, Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace released in theaters, ushering in a new wave of fandom for one of the most important media franchises of all time. Since the film's release, one relic has been a constant: the Pepsi vending machine on Mt. Washington in Pittsburgh. It has remained and kept stocked with drinks ever since then, but it appears that has finally changed as part of some bizarre prank or heist. Below, you can see what the vending machine looks like--or looked like, depending on its fate. The graphics have faded over time but it's still drawing in thirsty customers with its giant Pepsi bottle on the front alongside some pod-racing action. https://twitter.com/connortonight/status/1278154371121983488 This week, however, the machine went missing. It was replaced with a pretty hilarious decoy, featuring a very poorly drawn recreation of the original machine's artwork. https://twitter.com/ztwhite23/status/2092476623371055439 Visitors have noticed(https://www.wpxi.com/news/local/questions-speculation-swirl-around-popular-star-wars-vending-machine-pittsburgh/HRUDAJPLY5BI7PPXS56IEU6RSU/) that the new machine has 10 buttons, while the original only had nine. It's been speculated that influencer Braeden Days(https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/1v2y4d6/uhanybodyelse/?shareid=qqvFXBVaz6dMuz4zx3F68&utmcontent=1&utmmedium=androidapp&utmname=androidcss&utmsource=share&utmterm=1) may have swiped it, as he has threatened to do so in the past. It's possible the locals or the Pittsburgh Fire Department had something to do with it, as well, as it's located just outside a fire station. The new artwork has been compared(https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/1vy8oxl/mtwashingtonstarwarsvendingmachinepainted/) to the infamous 2012 Jesus-painting restoration(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EcceHomo(Garc%C3%ADaMart%C3%ADnezandGim%C3%A9nez)), though it will be a lot easier to laugh at if the original machine makes a return. For more Star Wars action, you can check out Star Wars Zero Company(https://www.metacritic.com/game/star-wars-zero-company/) beginning August 27. This will be followed by Star Wars: Galactic Racer on October 6.
