How to get titanium ingots in Subnautica 2

Getting titanium ingots in Subnautica 2 is the first time the game expects you to set off without guidance to find an essential new crafting blueprint. It won't be the last. While it might seem like you're expected to find your way in the dark, the blueprint you need for the processor that turns titanium into ingots is closer than you might expect.

Below, we explain how to get titanium ingots in Subnautica 2 and where to find the processor blueprint.

Where to find the processor blueprint in Subnautica 2

You need a processor to craft titanium ingots, and there's only a small handful of places to find the processor blueprint. The first, and the easiest to reach, is in the Old Habitat in the room where you'll find Wu's Blackbox signal. It's about 345 meters north of the Lifepod, though since reaching this location is part of the main story, you can't miss it.

Enter the Old Habitat through the floor of the lower room, next to the "Welcome Home" sign. Explore the room if you want, then enter the one beyond it. There's a lot to examine here, including a storage locker and a quick, disturbing piece of lore. But before you go looking around outside this room, head to the northwest corner, where you'll find a processor. Scan it to get the blueprint.

This method should work. However, some players have found during Subnautica 2's early access period that a bug affects certain key objects and makes them un-scannable. If that happens to you with the Old Habitat processor, you have a couple of additional options.

Another processor is near Wander's Blackbox, where you likely found the sonic resonator blueprint as well, and it's inside a large hunk of the Cicada shipwreck. Travel east from the coral dome above Wander's Blackbox, and you'll see the seafloor suddenly drop away. To your left (about 265 meters southwest of the Lifepod, for reference) is an abandoned base you can use to replenish your oxygen and pick up more lore. The wreckage is just across from the base.

Head inside, and you'll find several useful things to scan, including a blueprint for a high-capacity air tank. At the back of the room is a processor. Scan it to unlock the blueprint.

There's also a second processor you can scan much further away, in the abandoned habitat near the Alien Ruins. This is very far to the east of the Lifepod, past the Tadpole Pens and a dangerous stretch of deep ocean, and it's highly unlikely that you'd end up here before getting the sonic resonator. However, if youcan't scan the others, or you decided to ignore objectives, swim off into the sunrise, and find yourself here, there's a processor waiting for you.

How to get titanium ingots in Subnautica 2

Building a processor requires:

• 1 copper wire
• 1 mild acid
• 2 titanium

It also takes 10 energy per second, so you'll need several solar panels on your base to power it.

With your processor built and powered, approach the left side of it, interact with the panel, and choose the recipe for titanium ingots. One ingot requires three pieces of titanium. Wait about 30 seconds for the machine to fabricate the ingot, and then retrieve it from the right side of the processor.

Now you're free to craft your sonic resonator, better air tanks, and — with copper ingots as well — a bioreactor. The bioreactor powers your base using things like fiber pulp and small fish, making it easy to keep the lights on even when the sun goes down. Just make sure to keep a stock of titanium on hand in a chest or storage locker for crafting additional ingots. It's easy to run out quickly when you're building a base and trying to stockpile ingots for other blueprints.
