Magic's Marvel Super Heroes set gives an iconic spell a reprint with a catch

Overview & Key Takeaways

Prepare to do the Time Warp again, but now with Marvel flavor.

Magic: The Gathering is going heroic (and villainous) next week with Marvel Super Heroes, and among the reprints in the set, there’s one that almost snuck past us.

Time Warp, originally printed in Tempest all the way back in 1997, has seen several reprints, including inclusion in the Secrets of Strixhaven Mystical Archive this year, but it’s returning with new Marvel art and some neat Kang the Conqueror flavor text.

“Victory is inevitable. I have all the time in the world,” the card reads now, underneath its familiar text of “Target player takes an extra turn after this one”.

An extra turn is indeed a big problem for opponents, especially if you can bounce it back to your hand from your graveyard with something like Archaeomancer or Mystic Sanctuary, but what’s perhaps most interesting about this incarnation of the iconic card is how you’ll actually be able to get your hands on it.

Although Time Warp is printed as a rare, its placement in the Jumpstart "Kang Dynasty" pack — which is anticipated to be a hard-to-find, mythic-level product — means it may functionally be as rare as a mythic.

According to Wizards of the Coast’s card library, Time Warp can also be found in Collector Boosters (if you’re made of money, that is), the Draft Night box, and the Gift Bundle (again, presumably in the included Collector Boosters in those products).

It’ll also be in the MTG Arena Limited Pack and available as a Wildcard, with Marvel Super Hero cards landing in the digital version of the game and bringing the missing Spider-Man cards with them, too.

While it was easy to be skeptical about the return to the Marvel universe, there are some solid reprints joining Time Warp in the set, which launches next week.

Black Market Connections is in the Doom Prevails precon, Kindred Discovery pops up in Avengers Assemble, and even poison counters are rolling back the years with The Serpent Society.

While Time Warp may not have a steep fee attached to it thanks to those aforementioned reprints, I’d be keen to put it in my Vivi deck to keep bouncing back for a bonus turn here or there.

GTA 6 Extended Look: How To Watch, What To Expect, And More

The countdown(https://www.gamespot.com/gta-vi-countdown/) to Grand Theft Auto 6(https://www.gamespot.com/games/grand-theft-auto-vi/) is winding down, and ahead of its launch in November, developer Rockstar Games has a new look at the game on the way. But unlike other trailers or developer previews, this one won't be dropping on YouTube first, as Netflix has an exclusive(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-extended-look-coming-august-27-on-netflix/) on it for several hours. If you're planning to watch--and you have a Netflix subscription--here's everything you need to know about the upcoming GTA 6 preview. When to watch on Netflix Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix at the following times on August 27: - 3 PM ET - 12 PM PT - 8 PM BST - 9 PM CEST - 10 PM SAST - 12 AM GST (August 28) - 5 AM JST (August 28) - 7 AM AEST (August 28) When to watch on YouTube Following its six hours of Netflix exclusivity, the GTA preview will be available to watch on YouTube(https://www.youtube.com/@RockstarGames) and the official GTA 6 website. - 9 PM ET - 6 PM PT - 2 AM BST (August 28) - 3 AM CEST (August 28) - 4 AM SAST (August 28) - 6 AM GST (August 28) - 11 AM JST (August 28) - 1 PM AEST (August 28) Netflix subscriptions: How much do they cost? While you absolutely do not need Netflix to watch the Extended Look--since it will be free on YouTube a few hours later--if you can't wait, there are  several options available, ranging from ad-supported to pricier premium subscriptions. - Netflix Standard with ads -- $9 per month - Netflix Standard -- $20 per month - Netflix Premium -- $27 per month What to expect Unsurprisingly, Rockstar Games is keeping mum on what will be shown during the preview--but one leaker(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-leaks-a-timeline-of-the-events-so-far/) hasn't been dropping a ton of pilfered content lately. There's no word yet on how long the Extended Look will run for or what parts of the game it'll cover, but fans are expecting brand-new footage and a proper look at how GTA 6 will play. If it's anything like the previous games in the series, expect driving, shooting, and a closer look at Vice City. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-leaks-a-timeline-of-the-events-so-far/
