Whoever wins the tournament will have a wish granted by the ruler, and given that the titular Fire Emblem is often a wish-granting artifact, it's likely to come into play.

You can recruit units, travel outside the city walls to train against other foes, or level up your skills in the training arena. We also got a glimpse of a woman "rejoicing" about "the advent of the Underworld," which I think is fair to assume is a villain, and the return of Sothis, a character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
