From the creators of Mouthwashing comes a co-op tank game with a disgusting twist

Overview & Key Takeaways

Be prepared for some very weird sights.

A lot of co-op games are cozy or funny. That's not so much the case with Carcass Clad, a new co-op tank game from Wrong Organ, developer of Mouthwashing.

We just saw the world premiere of Carcass Clad at the PC Gaming Show, and it looks absolutely feral. Your character is mere inches from hot, dangerous machinery, and you've got to operate your section of the tank and communicate with your crew to stand any chance of defeating your enemies. If you've ever watched Fury, that's the vibe.

For a lot of games, that would be enough, but this is from the people who brought us Mouthwashing, so the sicko meter is cranked up to 11. This isn't a standard WW2 co-op simulator. You have to battle your way through a war-torn city ravaged by a cultish military that uh… armours their vehicles with animals—some still living. Oh, and the cult has also resurrected some long-dead political figure and transformed them into a bird-man that hunts you throughout your run. Good luck!

There are three roles: commander, driver, and gunner. As commander, you'll be charged with spotting enemies, planning your route through the city, collecting items outside the tank, and deploying defensive measures like smoke screens.

The gunner is responsible for, you guessed it, manning the gun. Aiming, firing, reloading, that's all you. You'll also scan for threats, but your commander will have to properly identify them.

Finally, there's the driver. They'll be in charge of moving the tank through the city and positioning it during fights. Additionally, they can manage each system's power, giving one a boost at the expense of another when the time calls for it.

Almost all of the gameplay is mouse-based, so you'll have to crank levels, turn wheels, and load shells manually. It plays like a roguelike, with each run broken down into levels separated by safe rooms where you can buy supplies like ammo and fuel and upgrade your tank.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

If you're a fan of Mouthwashing or just want a new co-op experience to test the limits of your friendships, wishlist Carcass Clad on Steam.

GTA 6 Skipping PC At Launch And Having No Online Right Away Is Good, Helldivers Boss Says

The CEO of Helldivers studio Arrowhead Game Studios has commented on the upcoming launch of GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-leaks-a-timeline-of-the-events-so-far/), saying he's happy there will be no PC version or online mode at launch, because that will help Helldivers 2 "keep crushing it." In a statement to press, Sham Jorjani said Rockstar makes "ridiculous, high-effort stuff, and it's awesome that games like this get made." He said he's selfishly happy that the game won't be on PC at launch, nor will there be an online mode right away. "It means Helldivers 2 gets to keep crushing it in our own space, and is also why it won’t be the all consuming behemoth everyone’s worried about," he said. Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but the developer has not said a word about a possible PC edition. Additionally, Rockstar has said GTA 6 is a "single-player experience," but the company has not confirmed outright that there won't be an online mode at launch. It's expected Rockstar will evolve GTA Online in some form for GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/with-gta-6-online-rockstar-is-deciding-who-to-make-mad/), but we don't know anything about that yet. With GTA 5, the game launched first on console before later coming to PC. For GTA 6, it's expected the game will also eventually come to PC. Additionally, it won't be unprecedented if GTA 6 launches with no online mode, as GTA 5 also launched without one. Jorjani went on to say Rockstar has "the brand power to confidently take their time and run their classic play," as opposed to chasing trends and pivoting like some other developers do. "They have the confidence and freedom to spend a decade doing things the old-school way because they know the core game will deliver. It’s going to raise the bar for sure," he said. The "Extended Look" for GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-netflix-trailers-beefy-runtime-revealed-footage-captured-on-ps5/) aired today, August 27, on Netflix. For more, be sure to read GameSpot’s breakdown ofhow to watch and what to expect from the GTA 6 Extended Look event(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-extended-look-how-to-watch-what-to-expect-and-more/). The Netflix event comes after GTA 6 has suffered numerous, significant gameplay leaks. Rockstar reacted to the scandal, saying the leaks are “heartbreaking” for the developers(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/rockstar-finally-comments-on-all-those-gta-6-leaks-heartbreaking-for-our-team/). GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s coming to market with an incredible amount of hype behind it, in part because fans have been waiting 13 years for the sequel to GTA 5(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-biggest-gaming-stories-that-happened-since-gta-5-came-out-13-years-ago/).
