Developer inXile Entertainment shared a new look at Clockwork Revolution during the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday. The action RPG also finally got a release window, and it will come out sometime next year.
The trailer showcases the game's colorful supporting cast, with characters like the robot Nazim and "Anne Fucking Darrow," who rocks a bowler hat. After a heist gone wrong, your player character gets sent through time and starts on a journey to alter history.
Clockwork Revolution is a first-person action game that immediately drew comparisons to BioShock when it was revealed in 2023. You play as a time traveler who ventures through key moments in Avalon's formation, a steampunk metropolis. Like other choice-based RPGs, your actions and decisions affect the narrative, city, and supporting characters — and history itself. "In Clockwork Revolution we’re pushing roleplaying reactivity to new heights, infused with the unique texture and personality that you’ve come to expect from our games," studio head Brian Fargo said when the game was announced.
Xbox's showcase last year featured a pretty long trailer for it, but we haven't known when to expect Clockwork Revolution to actually come out. Clockwork Revolution will be released in 2027 for Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Sorry, PlayStation and Nintendo players — Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty explicitly touted this one as an Xbox-console exclusive.
