Lego Batman: Tricorner Riddler puzzle locations and solutions

Rock Paper Shotgun ยป Guidesโœ Josh Broadwellโฑ 8 min read(2 months ago)

Overview & Key Takeaways

You've got nine Tricorner Island Riddler puzzles to track down in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and only one of them gets pointed out to you in the main story. While the mandatory Riddler puzzle has you finding objects in a room, the others make you connect power sources, do some construction work, tinker with high-rise lights, and delve into the sewers. Getting all the Riddler collectibles in Tricorner won't reward you with anything particularly special, but if you want to increase your completion rate, this is definitely one of the ways to do it.

This guide covers all Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Tricorner Riddler puzzle locations and how to solve them. We've skipped adding the mandatory one, though, since it's impossible to miss (as long as you're completing all Legacy of the Dark Knight missions) and walks you through the solution itself. You can complete these in any order as long as you have the right character; we've just listed them in the order that we found them.

This puzzle is in the southwest corner of the island, and it's a bit more involved. You'll also need Nightwing to complete it, so if you don't have him yet, put a pin in this one and come back later.

Anyway, bust the crates on the roof to find a power cell. Drop into the parking lot and power the single-cell generator, and then bust the crates around you to find a larger cell for the second generator. Then you'll need to use Nightwing's electric ability to connect the generators to the building, and his staff to move the now-powered machine in place so it opens the cage with the collectible.

This one's to the east, near the giant sign advertising a nearby hotel. Activate the mechanism near the cage, then use Batman's batarang to hit the targets that pop up with the green centre. You need to hit six of those, but if you hit a target with the red mark, it takes one off your total count.

Head further east to the docks and the pier that juts out the farthest. Use the claw to remove the panel on the machine, then use Catwoman's whip to spin the device and raise a platform with some junk on it. Clear the junk, grab the lever, slot it into place, and open the cage.

Back in the center of the island at the hotel is where you'll find the next one. The cage is powered by generators that are just out of reach, so you'll need to slot a power cell into the elevator to activate it. Then, grab two more cells to power the generators and open the cage. They're all in the area around the cage, but you can use your Bat instincts to scan the area and mark their locations if finding them gives you trouble.

You can also move the elevator into position, remove the cell that powers it, and use it in the second generator if you don't want to mess with three cells.

Just to the west of the previous puzzle is another one. This time, you're faced with two electric grids - one surrounding the collectible and the other surrounding the switch that shuts the power off. Touching the current instantly shatters your character, so don't do that.

Instead, ride the nearby updraft, glide onto the building above the second grid, and step on the switch to turn the current off.

This one, a bit further to the west from the previous puzzle, is a little trickier. You need to adjust the window lights in the building opposite the cage so they form the Riddler's characteristic question mark shape. There's a sample of how it should look next to the cage, so use it as a visual guide if you need to.

Three devices control different parts of the lights, and you need to use Batman's Batarang to move them. One is behind the cage, and another is on a water tower next to it, though you have to stand on a lamppost to reach it. The third is under the cage. You can follow the electric wires to find them if you get stuck.

Over on the northwest docks is a curious little contraption housing the next Riddler puzzle. Use Jim Gordon's foam sprayer to block the vent and Robin's staff to open the door. Drop a power cell into the generator to activate the machine and shoot the collectible out.

The last Riddler puzzle is in a sewer pipe on the north edge of the island. You can see it through a hatch, but you can't open the hatch.

Instead, you need to assemble a vent on the roof, glide up, and drop into the shaft next to it with enough force that Batman opens the floor door. Once inside, climb up the ladder to grab your prize.
