007 First Light: A Night Out walkthrough

Rock Paper Shotgun ยป Guidesโœ Callum Williamsโฑ 12 min read(3 months ago)

Overview & Key Takeaways

Our trips to Malta in 007 First Light's previous two chapters saw Bond meet some new chums, piss off a very distrusting commanding officer, and learn about the secret service's in-house branch of ChatGPT. Our next mission will focus on us continuing our training, as we go full spy-mode for the first time. We'll pick up Bond's story in London, with our plucky agent-to-be having some beers with his pals only to get a pesky work call and wind up back on the clock.

The ensuing mission will have you putting together all your stealth skills to find a target hidden inside a club in London. Our walkthrough will cover all of this Night Out chapter, including each of the various opportunities and paths you can take to reach your target.

After a brief introduction cutscene, where Bond and his friends are contacted by MI6 with a shared training mission while partying at a club, you'll gain control in the middle of the dance floor. Walk towards the bar at the back of the dance floor, cueing a cutscene where Bond will approach a woman in a red dress.

She isn't the contact we're looking for, so once the scene's over, look around the room for another guest in a red outfit. On the left-hand side of the bar, you'll see a man in a red T-shirt. Speak to him, and he'll tell you about a dead drop in the bathroom.

Take a right at the bar and follow the path around the perimeter of the club's first floor until you see the bathrooms dead ahead. Enter the men's bathroom and interact with the third cubicle in the row. Inside it, you'll find a power box. Open it up to locate the dead drop.

The ensuing cutscene will reveal that Bond has to find a specific target in this club and extract information from them. When the scene's over, the boyfriend of the woman Bond chatted to at the bar will corner us in the bathroom, insisting that we humble him. Slam his head into the sink a good few times, then head to the exit.

Get Upstairs: All Opportunities and paths

As Bond reaches the door, heโ€™ll be told that he needs to get into the VIP party on the second floor. It's here youโ€™ll be introduced to a huge mechanic in First Light: Opportunities. During certain missions, Bond will be able to take one of several routes in order to reach a destination or accomplish a specific goal. These routes are usually discovered by collecting intel while eavesdropping and exploring, with the list of potential routes updating in the objectives menu when you find a related clue.

Right now, we can come across three seperate Opportunities that will lead us up to the second floor. We'll run you through each of these paths below, as well as any collectibles that can be found en route to your objective. If you want to hop ahead to a specific one, here's every opportunity in A Night Out:

Staff Only

The Staff Only Opportunity can be found at the bar where we met the contact in the red shirt. Head over there, and you'll quickly learn that stepping behind the bar counts as trespassing.

To get past, bluff any of the bartenders, and all of the bar staff will give you a short window where they'll allow you to explore unhindered. Pass through the door behind the bar, cross the storage room behind it, then head up the stairs and out to the second floor to complete the Opportunity.

Collectible: Cocktail Napkin Memento

While you're behind the bar here, you'll find the Cocktail Napkin Memento inside one of the shelves behind the male bartender. Make sure to grab it before heading up to the second floor.

Above And Beyond

Above and Beyond is all about using the catwalks above the dance floor to reach the second-floor balcony. Make your way to the stage and circle around the left-hand side of it. A manager will approach you. Bluff her to get past, then follow the path and climb up the back of the staging.

You'll arrive at the catwalks above the dance floor. Move between them, leaping and crouch walking across each section until you reach a jump to the second-floor balcony.

Collectible: Ober Of Bells Card

During this Opportunity, just as you're about to leap across to the second-floor balcony, you'll find the Ober Of Bells card on your right-hand side. Pick it up to add it to your collection.

Hop over to the second-floor balcony, and just like that, the Opportunity is complete.

The Stamp

The third and final Opportunity in this section is The Stamp. If you speak to the cloakroom staff up the stairs opposite the bathroom, you'll learn about a VIP stamp that will permit you access to the second floor.

The stamp is on the cloakroom desk, right next to Jacksepticeye... uh, I mean, the male attendant. You can sneak around to the other side of the cloakroom desk and steal it if you like, but if you head to the end of the corridor to the left of the cloakroom, you can eavesdrop on a woman talking on the phone.

She'll reveal that the cloakroom attendants will give you the stamp if you give them the name "Jones," so head back up to the cloakroom, speak to the attendant on the right, tell him you're here for Jones, and then get the stamp. You can now walk freely up the stairs to the left of the bar to reach the second floor.

The Proximity Hack

Now we're on floor 2, it's time to find our target: Joshua Pike. When you're ready, turn on the Q Lens and look for a booth just to your right when you enter the second-floor VIP area. You'll spot Joshua speaking to some friends.

Approach him and use the Q Lens to hack his phone, beginning a proximity hack. We'll need to stay close to him, so follow Joshua through the VIP area, across the dance floor and around to the bar as the meter in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen continues to fill.

Along the route, Bond will be confronted by the girl from the bar earlier. Give her either of the prompted excuses that pop up, then follow Pike until he enters an exclusive seating area. To get inside, you'll want to grab the tray of drinks at the end of the VIP bar, then bring it through to the seating area while posing as a waiter.

Let the interaction that begins when you enter play out, then approach Pike and wait for the hack to complete.

Get Rid Of Pike

As soon as the hack concludes, Cressida will ask Bond to meet her on the second-floor balcony, so reconvene, and you'll learn that Pike is meeting his contact tonight. Bond will decide to go in his place, but you'll need to get rid of Pike before he can close the deal. Look for a door behind the second-floor bar, then sneak through it and enter another door on the right.

Bond will remark that it's a perfect place to stash poor Pike, so return to the main room and find Pike on the dance floor. Chat with him, and Bond will convince Pike to follow him. Walk him to the room we just found, and Bond will trap him inside, giving you the prompt to sabotage the door handle so he can't escape.

With Pike gone, we'll want to enter the deal in his place. Meet up with Cressida for a chat, then head back down to the first floor and towards the quest marker guiding you to a side room in the corridor on the left-hand side of the dance floor.

You'll find the buyer at the back of the room. Speak to her and say whatever you like. No matter what you choose, the deal plays out largely the same way. When it's done, Bond will get the all clear to leave the club, so head towards the quest marker on the other side of the first floor.

The Brawl

As you head towards the exit, Bond will be attacked by the jealous boyfriend and his squad of goons. Looks like whacking his head against the sink a bunch of times just made him angrier. Whack him against the speakers this time to see if that does the trick, then help Monroe finish off the pack.

After defeating all three enemies, you'll cue a cutscene, bringing the chapter (and Bond's training arc) to a close.

With that, our time busting shapes in the club is, sadly, over. When you're ready to move on, our next assignment will have us jetting over to Slovakia for the All The Time In The World mission. If you're looking to clean up all your missing collectibles and challenges beforehand, check out our Against The Odds and A New Home challenge guides. We've also compiled lists of all the Intel, Legacy and Memento collectible locations.
