How to unlock all SubWayne fast travel locations in Lego Batman
Overview & Key Takeaways

The open world of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight isn't enormous, measuring about 900 metres tall from the bottom of Tricorner to the far end of North Island. This doesn't make unlocking the SubWayne fast travel points any less valuable, as much of the space on the map is taken up by the waterways between each zone. You'll also need to drive between buildings and across obstacles as you run around completing the game's 6 chapters and 22 missions, which can take up a tonne of extra time.

Luckily, fast travel in this Lego brick-laid Gotham City is entirely possible. In this guide, we'll show you the locations of all 9 SubWayne fast travel points in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and how to unlock them. Each is locked behind a small puzzle, and a few require characters you unlock by progressing the story. Don't expect anything particularly brain-teasing, but some of these puzzles will take a few minutes to solve, so let's get started.
In this guide:
Tricorner SubWayne

You'll unlock the Tricorner SubWayne early in the main story of Legacy of the Dark Knight, shortly after completing the Iceberg Lounge mission. It's on the southernmost edge of the zone.
To access it, you'll need to find and activate four buttons to undo the seal on the door.
- The first button is directly above the door. You can't miss it.
- The second button is around on the east side of the building. Use Gordon to stop the gears with his goo cannon, then throw the Batarang at the exposed button.
- You'll find another button on the platform high above the SubWayne door. Grapple up, and you'll find the button on the south side of the large drums.
- The final button is conveniently underneath the large lock preventing entry to the SubWayne. Head back down to the door and hit it to unlock the tunnel system.
These are the four buttons that need pressing before the SubWayne Tricorner location will open. Use Gordon's goo cannon alongside Batman's Batarang to stop the gears and hit them all.
Cauldron North - Ace Chemical SubWayne
Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Telltale Games
The Ace Chemical SubWayne in Cauldron North is right along the southern edge of that area, and it's blocked by a construction worker's truck.
To access it, you need to power the billboard above the tunnel entrance, then speak to the worker again.
- To start, head to the north side of the building behind the worker's truck. There, you'll see a pipe belching fire in front of a power box. Use Gordon's goo cannon to seal the pipe, then hit the button to start the flow of electricity.
- Continue to the south of the building, to the left of the worker's truck, and use a Batarang to break the lock on the power box. Press the button to continue the flow of power.
- Next, return to the worker's truck and look to its right. Hit the now-powered button there to extend the circuit.
- The final button you need to press is on the roof of the building, so grapple up, head behind the billboard, break the lock on the power box, and press the button.
- A brief cutscene will then play, and you can speak to the worker one last time. They'll drive away, and the SubWayne is yours to use.
Another four buttons must be activated before the Ace Chemical SubWayne can be used. Use Gordon's goo to put out the fire and then get started using Batman's Batarangs.
Old Gotham West SubWayne

You can find the Old Gotham West SubWayne entrance in the northern section of the area, beneath a bright red โHotel" sign. You'll see some kids spraying graffiti on the door, and you've got to get rid of them.
- To get the kids to leave, start with Catwoman as your controlled character, and use her whip on the spinning device near the upper-left corner of the door. That will lower a pair of targets.
- Hit the targets with Batman's Batarang, and you'll dump several cans of water on the kids. They'll scatter, allowing you to press the nearby button to give access to the SubWayne.
You'll need Catwoman in your party to solve this puzzle. Use her whip to hit the spinning device, then hit the targets with Batman's Batarang so that the kids scram. | Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Telltale Games
Old Gotham South SubWayne

The SubWayne in Old Gotham South is in the middle of that area, beneath a bridge. You'll need Catwoman for this one, as well. There are three parts to the puzzle.
- First, head just north, or left, of the SubWayne door, down the stairs, and you'll encounter a shutter-locked set of power supplies. Use Catwoman's whip to spin the device to the right of the shutters to raise them.
- Switch to Batman and interact with the toolbox in front of the power boxes to activate his X-Ray Vision.
- The X-Ray Vision will allow you to track which power junction boxes are connected to the main circuit. You need to move the batteries to the second and fourth boxes to complete the circuit. Once the circuit is complete, head back to the SubWayne door and press the nearby button to unlock it.
This SubWayne can be a puzzler if you aren't good with visual challenges. Use Catwoman to spin the device, then have Batman analyse the direction of the circuits with his X-Ray Vision. | Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Telltale Games
Old Gotham North SubWayne
Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Telltale Games
This SubWayne is along the eastern coast of South Island, underneath a bridge. Some kids are having a jam session in front of the tunnel door, so you'll need to remove them.
- First, use the Batclaw to pull open the pipe above the tunnel door, then grapple up on top of the building to the right of the staircase above the tunnel entrance.
- You'll find a large water silo with a yellow crank. Turn said crank to dump a bunch of water on the kids and their boombox.
- Return to the tunnel door and use Gordon's goo cannon to stop the flow of water, then press the button to the right of the door to activate the SubWayne.
To remove those kids, use the BatClaw, crank that valve to dump water on them, and then use Gordon's goo to stop the flow of water. No fun allowed in Gotham, especially if it makes Batman's job inefficient.
The Cauldron South SubWayne
Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Telltale Games
The SubWayne in The Cauldron South is on the southwestern coastline, underneath the Storage Warehouse 5B sign.
- To activate this one, start by summoning the Batmobile and using its grappling hook on the blue container to the right of the SubWayne entrance (which is blocked by its own blue container).
- Pull the container you hooked down, then grab the switch handle in the tool shed.
- Place the handle in the slot on the opposite side of the conveyor belt, then use it to move said conveyor to the right.
- Finally, drive the Batmobile onto the pressure plate that was once under the conveyor to raise the container blocking the SubWayne tunnel. No additional buttons needed.
Opening this SubWayne requiers the Batmobile. Pull the sealed container, grab the switch handle, slot it into the conveyor belt to move it, and then finally use the Batmobile again to apply pressure to the plate that was previously beneath the conveyor.
Newtown SubWayne
Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Telltale Games
You can't activate the SubWayne in Newtown until you reach Chapter Three of the story and unlock Robin after that chapter's first main mission.
Once you've completed those requirements, head across the bridge from South Island to Central Island and you'll see the SubWayne just to the right of where you exit the bridge. Unlocking the tunnel entrance is simple.
- Change characters to Robin and grapple up to the first large platform above the tunnel door. There's another power switch puzzle awaiting you.
- Use Robin to pull the yellow circle back to raise the shutters and reveal the power boxes.
- Next, grab the batteries from the power boxes directly to the right and around the righthand corner of the power boxes.
- The last step is to swap to Batman and interact with the toolbox in front of the power boxes to activate X-Ray Vision. You'll be able to see the power conduit lines behind the boxes, and you should place the batteries in the third and fourth slots. When this is done, head back down to the SubWayne door and press the button to gain access to the tunnels.
Only Robin has the right tools to...use a stick as a lever. Once that's done, you can grab the batteries from the two boxes and then use Batman to plug 'em in.
Gotham Village - Robinson Park SubWayne

You'll need the Batmobile to open this SubWayne as well. You'll find the entrance in the northwestern section of North Island below the Newtown Car Rental sign.
- Destroy the red toolbox next to the green cabinet underneath the sign, then build up the hook you'll grapple to the Batmobile. Use your car to pull the cabinet open and press the button inside to start the circuit.
- Go to the right of the cabinet and use Gordon's goo cannon on the pipe belching fire on the upper platform. Swap to Batman and hit the button above the pipe with a Batarang to open the circuit.
- Head back to ground level and put out the fire there with the goo cannon, then press the button it reveals.
- Go back up to the upper platform and press the button on the back of the billboard, then talk to the construction worker so he moves his truck out from in front of the SubWayne entrance. Press the button to activate the fast travel point.
Once again, you'll use the Batmobile here to pull the green cabinet open. Then you'll need to utilise Batman's Batarang and Gordon's goo cannon to ensure that the SubWayne opens.
East End SubWayne

The final SubWayne you're likely to unlock is in the middle of North Island beneath the central bridge. Unlocking it is a bit tricky, but not terrible.
- Start off by heading left from the tunnel entrance. You should see some grating on the ground. Destroy the dumpster and buckets to reveal the entrance to the vents, then use them to go behind the nearby garage door.
- Nab the blue, glowing battery to open the door, then grapple up onto the roof just across the way. Place the battery in the power box to complete the circuit.
- Return to the garage and destroy the toolbox in the back corner to reveal the switch handle, which you can then take back to the switch next to the tunnel entrance.
- Use the handle to drop the barriers blocking the SubWayne, and it will unlock.
Head to the grating, destroy the dumpster and buckets to reveal the vent entrance, then enter and grab the battery. Stick it in the power box, then return to the garage and destroy the toolbox in the back to get the switch handle, which you'll use to drop the barriers blocking the SubWayne.
Batcave SubWayne
You don't need to do anything special to unlock the Batcave SubWayne. You gain access to it the instant you use the first one you unlock in Chapter One, and you'll come back to the Batcave frequently if you want to unlock more Suits and other cosmetic items.
And that's it. You've now unlocked all the SubWayne fast travel stations in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
