Lego Batman: How to complete Tricorner Investigation and find all poster pieces

The beginning of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight sees Bats teaming up with Jim Gordon to learn the ropes in Tricorner, the first district of a truly massive Gotham City built entirely of bricks.

This opening tasks you with solving a Tricorner Investigation tutorial teaching you the ropes of how to respond to various crises in the open world. It also contains a puzzle where you'll need to chase down poster pieces and catch up with Oswald Cobblepot, AKA the Penguin. Along the way, you'll get to recreate that wicked chase scene from 2022's The Batman where Batman rammed the Penguin's car and put the fear of winged rodents into the fat birdman.

Meeting Montoya

You'll receive a few radio calls as soon as you're in Tricorner introducing you to the various investigations that dot Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's open world map.

The first one leads you to a marker where you've got to stop purse snatchers robbing a civilian. Sneak up on them from the bridge if you can, which will let you knock several out before combat begins.

Then, you'll receive notice of another investigation where you need to drive the Batmobile to a break-in. Once you're at the site of the break-in, grapple up to the roof and take out the thugs.

Your next investigation will task you with travelling to the location of Renee Montoya, one of the few honest cops in Gotham City. She's not too far from the break-in location, so you can grapple across the rooftops to reach her if you'd rather not take the Batmobile.

When you reach Renee, she won't want to talk to Batman, and will hilariously point out that she isn't equipped to deal with everything that he's got going on. (On a Gotham cop salary, for sure!) Instead, swap over to Gordon (press the D-pad down button if you've forgotten how to do this) and talk with her.

Renee says that the cops have found a perp connected with the purple car that Batman and Gordon have been looking for. Unfortunately, the wanted poster pieces to identify this guy have been scattered around the area, and you've got to find them. Luckily, they're nearby, and if you investigate by holding down the Right Thumbstick you can see markers pop up showing you where to go.

• The first poster is in the corner of a parking lot by the docks, not far from Montoya. A chest full of studs is nearby.

• From the parking lot, look up to see a large container on the docks past the Octan sign. Grapple up to get the poster.

• The last poster is atop a construction platform that you should be able to see clearly from your position atop the container. Use your grapple to get over there, and you'll notice two construction workers hanging out near where the poster is nestled away.

How to identify the poster suspect

With all posters in tow, return to Montoya and get ready to play a little matching mini-game where you have to identify the perp. Use the following screenshot to help you choose the correct pieces with no problems:

It's Oswald Cobblepot - better known as the Penguin. You'll get a new marker on your map telling you his location, so hop in the Batmobile (or Gordon's much less cool GCPD cop car) and head over there.

You'll find Oz hanging out in the fish market between two blue crates. Shake him down and he'll try to give you the slip before taking off in his purple car.

How to stop Cobblepost

Rev up your engine - it's time to recreate that cool scene from The Batman! Chase after Oz and ram him with the Batmobile. It can be tricky catching up with his sudden turns in these crowded Gotham streets, so press X to activate the Batmobile's Booster if he gets too far ahead of you.

Oz drives in circles throughout Tricorner, so this chase scene is pretty forgiving, even if you're a lousy driver. However, simply driving alongside Cobblepot isn't enough. You'll need to ram into Oz at least three times to bring the Penguin down for the count. Remember, use that Batmobile Booster for maximum damage.

Once you've caught the Penguin, Batman and Gordon will give him a good interrogation before learning that they need to head to the Iceberg Lounge to take down Carmine Falcone. And that's the end of your Tricorner Investigation!
