Sony is hiking the starting price of one-month and three-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in “select regions,” blaming “ongoing market conditions.” Beginning May 20th, 1-month subscriptions will start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP, while 3-month subscriptions will start at $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP.

In the US, the changes result in a $1 price increase for a one-month Essential tier subscription and a $3 increase for a three-month Essential tier subscription. It’s unclear if other PlayStation Plus tiers will see price hikes as well. PlayStation didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.

If you are a current subscriber, prices will stay the same for you (except in Turkey and India, according to Sony) unless you change your subscription tier or let your subscription lapse.

The PlayStation Plus price hikes follow two recent price increases for PS5 consoles. Sony said its April PS5 price hike was due to “continued pressures in the global economic landscape.”

Now, to be clear, there are only snippets of old footage for the open-world experience. But you should know by now that won't stop the internet from poring over every single little detail. For example, the X account DriftRespawn(https://x.com/playb0y4L/status/2089357629906674135) notes that letterboxing has been removed in the new PS5 promo from a clip where Jason Duval is hanging on to the back of a convertible, with Lucia driving the car.
