When does Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight come out?

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight releases globally on 22 May on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is releasing later this year. Those who pre-order the game will be able to play it three days early, starting on 19 May.

Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game are currently available for pre-order. The Standard edition gets you the base game, which already has a tonne of content, including seven playable characters and a lengthy campaign that combines bits and pieces of nearly all of the live-action Batman films, from the 1989 Tim Burton movie to 2022's The Batman.

The Deluxe Edition, meanwhile, includes the following extras:

  • The base game
  • Over 30 items included across the following three themed packs: Arkham Trilogy Pack, Batman Beyond Pack, and Party Music Pack. Each themed pack includes 7 suits (1 for each playable character), 1 Batmobile, and a set of 5 Batcave customisation props.
  • The Mayhem Collection, a post-launch DLC releasing September 2026. The Mayhem Collection includes a new story mission and Mayhem Mode (featuring the Joker and Harley Quinn) along with a villain-themed Sinister Pack, which includes 7 suits, 1 Batmobile, and 1 Batcave prop set.

Note that the release date of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has been bumped up from the date featured in this image. The game comes out on the 22nd of May, not the 29th. | Image credit: Telltale Games

For longtime Dark Knight fans, it's definitely worth noting that the Deluxe Edition contains not only Batman Beyond-inspired Batman and Batmobile skins, but also skins from The Dark Knight Returns, the classic 1986 graphic novel by Frank Miller.
