Missing some Discoveries in Windrose? Currently in Early Access, there are three major biomes to explore across the archipelagos of Windrose: the Coastal Jungle, the Foothills, and the Cursed Swamps. Each of these regions has its own page of Discoveries: important items and materials which you need to find in order to unlock new crafting recipes and progress further through the game.

Discoveries in Windrose are divided into three categories: Key Discoveries, Major Discoveries, and Other Resources. Adding all of these together across all three regions, there is a grand total of 74 Discoveries to find throughout Windrose. We've listed all of these Discoveries below, along with instructions on where to find them so that you can unlock 100% of the recipes and tools in the game.

Coastal Jungle Discoveries

The Coastal Jungle is the starting biome of a Windrose playthrough, and it's home to a procedurally generated archipelago of islands, largely inhabited by Dodos, Boar, Crabs, and Drowned.

The Discoveries in the Coastal Jungle are almost all very easy to gather, as they consist of the basic materials you need to progress through the game's main story. A few Discoveries, however, are quite elusive unless you know where to look. Here's the full list of all Key, Major, and Minor Discoveries in the Coastal Jungle biome:

Coastal Jungle: Key Discoveries

Discovery	How To Get It
Fast Travel Bell	Loot your first Fast Travel Bell from the Pirate Remains POI. Others are crafted at a Workbench (10x Copper Ingots and 3x Rope).
Copper Ore	Mined from ore deposits found inside caves and occasionally on the surface. Requires a Stone Pickaxe or better.
Copper Ingot	Created by smelting Copper Ore in a Smelting Furnace. Also requires Charcoal to fuel the Furnace.
Rough Hide	Dropped by Boars and Sows, as well as Wolves in the Foothills.
Misty Orchid	Harvested from blue-flowered plants found growing in the Coastal Jungle.

Coastal Jungle: Major Discoveries

Discovery	How To Get It
Lamp	Found at the Pirate Remains POI. Refill it at a Workbench with Animal Fat.
Clay	Mined from Clay deposits in the ground near the shoreline in the Coastal Jungle. Requires a Stone Pickaxe or better.
Banana	Harvested from Banana Trees on jungle islands, or cultivated from a Seedbed filled with Banana Seeds.
Dodo Egg	Dropped by Dodos, or found in Dodo Nests and Ancient Ruins.
Cayenne Pepper	Grows on the ground on Coastal Jungle islands.
Sweet Potato	Harvested from blue-flowered plants which tend to spawn in clusters in the Coastal Jungle.
Undead Essence	Dropped by Thorn Fiddlers and Drowned (both of which spawn on the coast at nighttime).
Healing Herbs	Looted from containers in Ancient Ruins, or foraged from certain small Coastal Jungle plants.
Rum Bottle	Dropped by Sailors and Grenadiers. Can also be found inside chests in pirate camps.
Steel Nails	Looted from shipwrecks and Decrepit Chests, as well as Lost Barrels while sailing.
Crab Shell	Occasionally dropped by Crabs on the coast.
Banana Seeds	Harvested from Banana trees.
Palm Seeds	Harvested from Palm trees.
Ficus Seeds	Harvested from Ficus trees.
Shrub Seeds	Harvested from Shrubs.

Coastal Jungle: Other Resources

Plant Fiber	Harvested from shrubs and plant matter.
Wood	Harvested from driftwood, shipwrecks, and by chopping down trees.
Stone	Harvested from the ground, or by mining boulders with a Stone Pickaxe or better.
Coconut	Drops from Palm trees.
Triton's Horn	Found on the coast.
Closed Scallop Shell	Found on the coast.
Pearl	Occasionally found with Closed Scallop Shells.
Crab Meat	Looted by picking up crabs or defeating Thorn Fiddlers.
Bird Meat	Dropped by Dodos.
Meat	Dropped by Boars and Sows.
Animal Fat	Dropped by Boars and Sows.
Feather	Dropped by Dodos.
Boar Tusk	Occasionally dropped by Boars.
Boar Head	Occasionally dropped by Boars.
Dodo Head	Occasionally dropped by Dodos.

The Foothills are unlocked as soon as you defeat the main boss of the Coastal Jungle biome. The enemies in this region constitute a step up in difficulty, as you're faced with Wolves and Goats rather than Boars and Dodos, and dangerous pirates to clash swords with while you explore the Foothills for all the Discoveries you need.

There are fewer Discoveries to be found in the Foothills than in the Coastal Jungle, although again some of these resources can be quite hard to find if you're just randomly exploring the world. Here's the full list of all Foothills Discoveries to be found in Windrose:

Fertile Soil	Mined or dug from soil patches inside Ancient Farms.
Foothills Iron Ore	Mined from Iron Deposits marked on the map. Requires a Copper Pickaxe or better.
Hardwood	Harvested by chopping down Divi-Divi trees and stumps.
Tree Bark	Harvested by chopping down Divi-Divi trees and stumps.
Flax Fiber	Harvested from small Flax plant clusters dotted throughout the Foothills.
Corn	Harvested from corn plants in Ancient Village farms in Foothills.
Silver Ingot	Loot from Ancient Chests and containers inside pirate ships, or purchased from vendors.

Discovery	How To Get It
Sulfur	Mined from Sulfur deposits. Requires an Iron Pickaxe or better.
Wolf Fang	Dropped by Wolves.
Bezoar	Dropped by Mountain Goats and Savage Boars.
Coffee Beans	Loot from crates and containers inside ships or in the ocean.
Nuts	Dropped by hostile Pirate enemies (Musketeers, Grenadiers, etc).
Lime	Harvested from Lime Trees.
Tomato	Harvested from Tomato plants found throughout the Foothills.
Lime Seeds	Occasionally obtained while harvesting Limes.

Aloe Leaf	Harvested from aloe plant bushes in the Foothills.
Salt	Loot from crates and containers inside ships or in the ocean.
Cane Sugar	Harvested from sugar cane plants, or found inside Ancient Chests and as ship loot.
Wolf Head	Occasionally dropped by Wolves.
Head Of A Mountain Goat Leader	Occasionally dropped by elite (starred) Mountain Goats.

Cursed Swamps Discoveries

The third - and for the time being, final - biome in the early access version of Windrose is the Cursed Swamps. This region is unlocked once you defeat the main boss of the Foothills, and once again represents a serious step up in difficulty.

Bromeliad	Harvested from spiky red-flowered plants in the Cursed Swamps.

Tar	Harvested by chopping down Tarwood Trees.
Plague Wood	Harvested by chopping down Tainted Trees, or dropped by Plague Crocodiles.
Firefly	Harvested at night near Cocoplum bushes.
Tear Of Sorrow	Occasionally dropped by Plague Witches and Plague Crushers.
Cocoplum	Harvested from Cocoplum bushes throughout the Cursed Swamps (look for large blue fruits on the bushes).
Leek	Harvested from Fertilized Soil in Ruin with a Flowerbed POIs.

Lobster Mushroom	Harvested from mushroom clusters on the ground in the Cursed Swamps.
