Kingdom Hearts 4 Will Get a New Showing This Month, Square Enix Confirms
Overview & Key Takeaways
Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show lineup teases Kingdom Hearts 4 and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation news
Kingdom Hearts fans were spoiled with information at this year's D23 fan expo, where Square Enix released an extended look at Kingdom Hearts 4 and announced a late 2027 release window. There was also the announcement that an anime series is in development. Now, just one month later, Square Enix is getting ready to share even more information on the hotly-anticipated game.
Starting on Sept. 17, Square Enix will be taking part in this year's Tokyo Game Show. Ahead of the actual show, the company has revealed the official lineup of games it will be showing off during the event. One of those games will be Kingdom Hearts 4. Currently, Square Enix has not shared an official schedule for the convention, but it is likely the company will stream several panels and interviews with developers. It will likely be during one of these panels that we hear more. That could mean anything from a release date announcement to a new gameplay look.
Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show offerings also include a Final Fantasy 7 Revelation demo
Kingdom Hearts 4 isn't the only game Square Enix is bringing to Tokyo Game Show. Following a release date announcement during this week's State of Play, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will have a playable demo on the show floor. Square Enix teases that it will let fans "play through a section" of the game, though it doesn't specify how long the demo is or when exactly in the story it takes place.
Final Fantasy XIV will also get some attention, as Square Enix gets ready to release the MMO's Evercold expansion next year. Don't expect a ton of new information, however, as the company still plans to hold the Tokyo Fan Fest at the end of October. That's when we are likely to get a release date for the expansion as well as details on Evercold's second new job. To commemorate the MMO's upcoming Final Fantasy 7 raid series, attendees can grab a special collaboration bag during the show.
