'From Hell It Rose' spike trap puzzle solution in Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy

Polygon RSS FeedMarloes Valentina Stella4 min read(about 6 hours ago)

Overview & Key Takeaways

In Chapter 4, "From Hell It Rose," in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, you'll encounter a room full of spike traps. Here's how to safely cross it.

Watch your step as you approach the Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy spike traps. Halfway through Chapter 4, "From Hell It Rose," they'll block the corridors leading deeper into the old ruins, forcing you to search for safe passage. Shining the sphere's light will help, but there's more to it than that.

Here's how to solve the spike trap puzzles in Chapter 4, "From Hell It Rose," in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.

How to solve the Chapter 4 spike trap puzzle in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

About halfway through Chapter 4, "From Hell It Rose," shortly after solving the maze puzzle and defeating the soldiers, you'll encounter a spike trap in a narrow hallway. Don't be hasty, as one step on the wrong floor tile results in instant death. You must figure out the correct pathway if you wish to cross this corridor alive.

First, use the Light Reveal ability by holding the sphere. See the blue symbols on the walls? If a floor tile's symbol matches one of the symbols on the wall, it's safe to step on.

To cross the first spike trap, walk straight across the tiles on the left, like this:

To cross the second spike trap, take the first two tiles on the right, before walking across the final two tiles in the middle row, like this:

To cross the third spike trap, the one with the wall spikes, you must press one of the six buttons on the wall. Press the wrong button, and you'll perish. The correct button is the one that matches one of the "safe" symbols in the previous spike trap puzzles.

It's the furthest button on the left — below the symbol that resembles a pair of scales.

The fourth spike trap takes up most of the floor inside a massive room. First, you need a light beam to activate your sphere. Walk to the ledge on the left side of the room (hug the wall — don't step on the spike trap tiles!) and give Leni a leg up. See the left arrow in the picture below for the correct location. Leni will automatically follow you with a light beam.

Approach the spike trap tiles and pull out your sphere (Light Reveal ability). See the blue line? Follow it to cross the room safely.

Unfortunately, there are three blind spots where Leni's light can't reach, which means you can't see the blue line there. You must memorize the path ahead before the blue line disappears.

At the first blind spot, the path loops around the tile with the skeleton, and then straight ahead until the sphere starts working again:

The path at the second blind spot leads straight behind the large plate. Be careful not to walk too far; hold on to the sphere so you don't miss the left turn at the end.

To pass the third blind spot, follow the S-shaped path toward the golden circle in the wall, then straight toward safety from there:

And that completes the Chapter 4 spike trap puzzles in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.

GTA VI looks just as great as we could hope for

Netflix and Rockstar Games finally debuted their "extended look" at Grand Theft Auto VI. It showed that the new game looks to keep much of the spirit of GTA - exploration, driving, crimes, shooting, and cinematic story scenes. But everything just looks much better than previous entries, with impressive graphics, densely-packed rooms, and detailed environments. &8230;

GTA 6 Skipping PC At Launch And Having No Online Right Away Is Good, Helldivers Boss Says

The CEO of Helldivers studio Arrowhead Game Studios has commented on the upcoming launch of GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-leaks-a-timeline-of-the-events-so-far/), saying he's happy there will be no PC version or online mode at launch, because that will help Helldivers 2 "keep crushing it." In a statement to press, Sham Jorjani said Rockstar makes "ridiculous, high-effort stuff, and it's awesome that games like this get made." He said he's selfishly happy that the game won't be on PC at launch, nor will there be an online mode right away. "It means Helldivers 2 gets to keep crushing it in our own space, and is also why it won’t be the all consuming behemoth everyone’s worried about," he said. Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but the developer has not said a word about a possible PC edition. Additionally, Rockstar has said GTA 6 is a "single-player experience," but the company has not confirmed outright that there won't be an online mode at launch. It's expected Rockstar will evolve GTA Online in some form for GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/with-gta-6-online-rockstar-is-deciding-who-to-make-mad/), but we don't know anything about that yet. With GTA 5, the game launched first on console before later coming to PC. For GTA 6, it's expected the game will also eventually come to PC. Additionally, it won't be unprecedented if GTA 6 launches with no online mode, as GTA 5 also launched without one. Jorjani went on to say Rockstar has "the brand power to confidently take their time and run their classic play," as opposed to chasing trends and pivoting like some other developers do. "They have the confidence and freedom to spend a decade doing things the old-school way because they know the core game will deliver. It’s going to raise the bar for sure," he said. The "Extended Look" for GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-netflix-trailers-beefy-runtime-revealed-footage-captured-on-ps5/) aired today, August 27, on Netflix. For more, be sure to read GameSpot’s breakdown ofhow to watch and what to expect from the GTA 6 Extended Look event(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-extended-look-how-to-watch-what-to-expect-and-more/). The Netflix event comes after GTA 6 has suffered numerous, significant gameplay leaks. Rockstar reacted to the scandal, saying the leaks are “heartbreaking” for the developers(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/rockstar-finally-comments-on-all-those-gta-6-leaks-heartbreaking-for-our-team/). GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s coming to market with an incredible amount of hype behind it, in part because fans have been waiting 13 years for the sequel to GTA 5(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-biggest-gaming-stories-that-happened-since-gta-5-came-out-13-years-ago/).
