Pragmata is Finally, Officially a 'Mega Man Game'

Pragmata and Mega Man are finally connected — just not in the way fans expected.
A long-held Capcom rumor has finally been proven — sort of. Pragmata is not secretly a Mega Man game, but Capcom is bringing the Blue Bomber to its sci-fi adventure as a new in-game skin.
The announcement came during Gamescom Opening Night Live, following a new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override. Capcom revealed that a Mega Man costume is “coming soon” to Pragmata, though it has not yet announced a release date or explained exactly how the skin will be obtained.

Since Pragmata was first revealed in 2020, fans have wondered whether the game was secretly connected to Mega Man. The theory was fueled by the game’s lunar setting, its focus on robots and artificial intelligence, and the design of Diana, an android girl who wears a blue jacket with sleeves that resemble Mega Man’s arm cannon.
Capcom repeatedly denied the connection. In 2025, Pragmata producer Naoto Oyama told VGC that the game “is not a Mega Man game” and described it as a completely new Capcom IP. Capcom then leaned into the speculation with an April Fools’ video showing protagonist Hugh wearing an elaborate Mega Man costume.
That joke has now become a real piece of Pragmata. While the skin does not change the game’s story or transform it into a new Mega Man adventure, it gives fans a chance to dress Hugh as Capcom’s iconic robot hero.
Mega Man returns in Dual Override
The Mega Man skin was announced after a new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override, Capcom’s first new mainline Mega Man game since 2018’s Mega Man 11.
The trailer showed more of the game’s 2D side-scrolling action and introduced a new boss named Twinkle Girl. It also teased new gameplay systems, including what appears to be a transformation or upgrade for Mega Man’s armor.
Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled to launch in 2027 across gaming platforms. Capcom has not announced a specific release date.
