Aniimo Style

While we've seen plenty of Pokémon-likes ever since Palworld broke the unspoken taboo of not infringing on the famous yellow mouse's turf, I think Aniimo is one of the first to not try and subvert the formula.

There are no guns here, and while the creatures called Aniimos do greatly resemble the kind of archetypes we've seen in Pokémon, they also have their own particular aesthetic. I'm most interested in the exploration and battling mechanics, as well as the multiplayer aspects that really make Aniimo stand out.

With the power of Pawprint Studios' parent company Funplus behind it, Aniimo has every chance of succeeding. But while Funplus are a storied publisher, this'll be one of the first major 3D open-world games they've released. So will Pawprint measure up? Well, if the early gameplay previews are anything to go by, they've got every chance of delivering a major hit.

Speaking of big hits though, you may not be aware of all the great releases you can play right now on mobile. So if you need some pointers, why not check out our list of the best mobile games of 2026 (so far) for some of our top tips?

PlayStation Shares New Details For Mobile Hero Shooter, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble

!Game Informer News(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/07/15/ecad9fb6/ratchet-and-clank-ranger-rumble-gameplay.jpg.webp) Last November, PlayStation unveiled Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a new mobile hero shooter take on Insomniac Games’ flagship franchise. After soft-launching in various non-US regions over the last few months, a new blog post(https://blog.playstation.com/2026/07/15/ratchet-clank-ranger-rumble-gameplay-details-on-the-upcoming-mobile-hero-shooter/) reveals more details about the game ahead of its yet-to-be-revealed global launch. Developed by Oh Bibi in collaboration with Insomniac, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is a free-to-play multiplayer hero shooter coming to iOS and Android. The game takes place inside a combat simulation created by Captain Qwark to train new Galactic Ranger recruits. Players control a roster of 12 heroes (with more to come post-launch) that, while featuring Ratchet and Clank and other recognizable faces, largely consist of new characters. This includes robots, aliens, and even Lombaxes from other dimensions like Widget, a spunky investigative journalist, and Mopz, a mopey street gang member. Ranger Rumble's bread and butter are its PvP arena battles (featuring "dynamic PvE elements") where players team up to blast competitors apart using the series' signature wacky weaponry.  The blog post reveals the game will have six game modes at launch that promote PvP and PvE play. Modes include a take on battle royale and a soccer-inspired contest. “Staying true to the series has been at the heart of the project from day one,” writes Oh Bibi chief executive officer Stanislas Dewavrin in the blog post. “The signature humor, beloved characters, and gloriously inventive weaponry that have defined Ratchet & Clank for over two decades are all here, reimagined for fast-paced battles built specifically for mobile, with new characters and weapons to discover. There’s no release window for Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble’s global launch, but players can pre-register to play on its website(https://www.rangerrumble.com/) now to receive exclusive rewards. Monster Hunter Outlanders launches registration for its third closed beta

Monster Hunter has had a meteoric rise since its earliest days on the PlayStation, becoming a bona fide cornerstone of Capcom's catalogue abroad as much as it was in Japan. Now, fans on mobile will soon be able to get their hands on the latest smartphone adaptation, Monster Hunter Outlanders, with its latest closed beta open for sign-ups. Monster Hunter Outlanders, unlike spinoffs such as Monster Hunter Now, looks to replicate the classic third-person ARPG mechanics of the original series. Allowing you to not only battle enormous monsters (duh) but also to explore the expansive and fantastical world of the Monster Hunter series too. Suffice it to say that it's got both longtime fans and newcomers intrigued. ... MORE(https://www.pocketgamer.com/monster-hunter-outlanders/third-closed-beta-registration-now-open/)
